  1. We did a private tour bus company in Rome (there are 4-5 of them) but they are crowded. You can get on and off. Search tour excursions for any other ports you will be in. If you are interested I have 2 travel guides-Let's go Europe and Rick Steves' Europe through the back door. Both have a wealth of info. Give me your email and I'll send info.

Have any of them ever taken you up on it?

As best I can recall I don't think anyone asked for anything. Even so I think my simply asking might make them feel better. I certainly would have got whatever they may have needed (unless they asked for a scooter or the like).

  3. On our last cruise one night there wasn't anything on the dessert menu that appealed to me so I asked the waiter if I could get a pecan ball. I explained to him what it was- scope of vanilla ice cream with pecans and chocolate syrup. He said he would check. When he served the desserts I got what I had asked for except for walnuts instead of pecans but with a side bowl of extra walnuts. The next night I asked if I could get the same thing and he said yes the "Don" special. The following night I and another tablemate both ordered it and he said 2 "Don specials" only to be outdone the following night by everyone at the table requesting the "Don" special.

  4. DW and I went to Hawaii a couple days early for a POA cruise. Oct. this year. Sightseeing and shopping probably at an ABC store we picked out a couple things and went to check out. There were two women right behind us and as we got to the cash register I said we should get some of this Hawaiin money to take home for the kids. One lady said to the other, "That's a great idea, why don't we do that?"

  5. Did not want to venture into that crowd even though my son wanted to. Watched on TV. Interesting though last Wed. was my sons birthday and we went to a Pittsburgh restaurant and Dan Bylsma was there w/wife and son. He went over to shake hands (he was wearing a Pens jersey) and Dan came over to our table after they were done and wished him a Happy Birthday and we took pictures of them. Really nice down to earth guy. He got his email address and is going to email him in a couple days to invite him out here for golf. BTW we in western Pa. don't claim Philadelphia as part of Pa. we say it belongs to New Jersey. When we were in Vancouver and watched the game against Chicago we rooted for the Canucks hoping for maybe a match up with us. Maybe next year.

  6. Had a great time in Vancouver and really appreciate all the help and advice from you guys. Did the Vancouver trolley, had dinner downtown and watched part of the hockey game (5/7) then back to the hotel and watched the end of the game at the Press Box on E. Hastings-sat beside the manager-Mitch. Sorry you lost-we actually cheered for you kinda hoping for a Canucks-Penquins final. Maybe next year then I can come to the Shark Club with my Pens jersey. My only regret with my stay there was that I should have had at least one more day.
