  1. We are departing on the Regal on Sunday. I decided to call today to inquire about the OBC others are receiving as a good will gesture for not being included in the ***** program. Was put on hold for about 5 minutes while the reg. res. dept checked with the Customer Relations dept. We were given $100 per person OBC. Thanks to all the C.C. posters.
Same here. Was on waitlist for an ***** cabin so last 3 calls they wouldn't do anything. But since we're 2 days out and nothing available they finally transferred me for the credit.

  2. Okay...called AGAIN (this is the third or fourth time..) Since I'm still on the waitlist and they're hoping to be able to clear those, they won't do anything right now. Said to wait and even check while on the ship to see if there were any cancellations??? And then to send an email afterwards. Really? Isn't that kind of late for OBC after you're back?

Guess I'll be calling again next week. What a joke. :(

  3. Not sure how many Parrot Heads realize this but on December 8th, 2015 there will be a Margaritaville opening on Paradise Island in Nassau. If the one on the ship can't get their act together, here is your alternative. And quite honestly, it may be a better option. If the Escape can't get it figured out by May when we cruise, I know which Margaritaville I'll be at....

Wow..did not know that. And we were planning to stay on the ship that day. Guess those plans have changed.

  4. It is certainly possible but I strongly urge you to skip Captain Morgan, it is basically an extended commercial and as a local it embarrasses me.

If you have your heart set on hitting both though I would recommend you make arrangements with a taxi driver at the pier and tell them what you are planning, they should be able to accommodate you providing they can get enough people. If that doesn't pan out you can always have somebody at either distillery call a taxi for you, or just post an SOS here and I'll come by lol.

Thanks Drake! I think we're leaning towards just Cruzan and then heading to Sandcastle on the Beach to relax the rest of the day. Was recommended by friends who were there earlier this year. Your thoughts on that one?

  5. I love visiting distilleries, wineries, and even the occasional brewery when we're on vacation, and see that both Cruzan and Captain Morgan have distilleries in St. Croix. I've read many places that the Cruzan one is the better of the two, but if we wanted to visit both, is that possible? Would we just arrange with a cab driver to take us to both? Our ship is in port 7a to 4p on a Wednesday.

Thanks in advance for any advice. :)

  6. I have read that you have to try to book the Sanctuary as soon as you get on the ship.

Does this apply to the individual day bookings or just a booking for the whole cruise? If we just wanted a half-day reservation, when would the best time be to book it?

    Thanks,

    Mary

Where do you go to book for the whole cruise? This is our first Princess cruise.

    Thanks!

  7. Hi Andrea,

Yours is two cabins down from 624. The forward partition of your balcony is even with the lifeboat davit, so looking straight out should be fine, but will also be sort of like having a blinder on your right eye so to speak since the davit will block your view forward. Looking aft will be pretty much unobstructed.

    E630, 631, 701 & E702 are totally unobstructed.

Thanks for this thread. We are doing our first Princess cruise in December on Royal and booked E630. It looks like we made a great choice. Many thanks to dmwnc1959 for all your great pictures!

  8. Ya'll have been kinda quiet on this thread lately. One of the big reasons I use for choosing a particular cruise is who is in the piano bar. Now that Ron Pass is no longer regularly with Carnival, I am in a conundrum. There are a bunch of new piano bar entertainers on Carnival these days and I would like to hear about them... the good, the bad, and the ugly.

We had the pleasure of sailing with Seth for the first half of our Sunshine cruise in November (he left us in Grand Cayman :( ) I'm also a huge Ron Pass fan (would book cruises just to see him) and really enjoyed Seth's show. I think you'll like him! His style is very similar to Ron's and he really gets the crowd involved. It was standing room only every night, even though the piano bar on Sunshine was a little hidden and out of the way.

  9. I have #10 at the end of October. I keep wondering if we'll have a constant flow of foot traffic right in front of us with people heading to the rest rooms.

I need to stop worrying about these things. I'm sure it will be wonderful. :D

Let us know if there's a hammock between 9 & 10. I'm thinking I remember seeing them between every other cabana as I walked past.

We had 9 and 10 on a cruise a couple years ago. Didn't notice a lot of traffic headed to rest rooms. It was a perfect location for us. In fact, when we went back to HMC last year we ended up in that same area (without a cabana) because we liked how quiet it was but still close to rest rooms and where they serve food. We'll probably head that way on Sunday when we're there again...just feels like a less crowded area.

  10. Can anyone tell me if this cabin (E7 on Inspiration) can sleep a third person - either in a bunk or on a sofa-bed?

We had that cabin on Paradise. There is no bunk or sofa. Not sure if they'd allow a rollaway but it would be extremely cramped if they did.

  11. Hello folks, back from the Bloggers Cruise on the Magic. As I see was posted earlier, I did get the names for the Glory and Conquest. But I only had the minutes (and sobriety) to post it on the Barbarians page, thanks Buggystuff for posting it on here. So here is the updated list, and thanks to those of you whom I met on this cruise for your kind words about the effort that goes into this list. Also John Heald will be posting the schedule on his blog soon, so we will have end dates for those we don't have yet. As a general rule, the office is trying to fill the bars with 6 month contracts (although there will be exceptions to that rule).

*** A note about this list: This list is compiled from reports and reviews of current cruisers and reports from the entertainers themselves. There is no guarantee of accuracy. An actual date usually means that the schedule has been confirmed by either the performer or someone inside Carnival. Schedules are subject to change. Also, this list is updated very regularly, so if it's not on the list, we probably don't know it.

Thanks again Laura for all you do to keep the list up to date. Was great to meet you last week. Wish we were still there w/ Ron in the piano bar. :(

  12. The 4 HC cabins that are 1A on this class really are bunk beds :(

There are 4 HC 1As on upper decks .... those near the spa.

Im going to be on Magic next month and fully intend to get out and about and check out any cabins that are not occupied.

Seems odd that the HC's would have an upper. I guess it would definitely give more room on the floor, but what if both people were handicapped? Wouldn't think they'd be able to climb into the bunk.

Can't wait to hear your report on the Magic. What cabin do you have?
