Then they may prefer to bring some formal wear - whatever THEY are comfortable with is welcome on Princess (except shorts, T's, flip-flops, and similar are discouraged or possibly asked to return to cabin to change if a formal night).

    Thanks for your reply.

Are you sailing from Southampton? We found that if the majority of passengers are British the dress tends to be more formal even on casual nights but not as formal as Cunard very few men wore jackets. When we did a British Isles cruise most of the passengers were from US and the dress was very casual.

Thank you. Yes they are sailing out of Southampton and used to the formal evening on other lines. This is their first time on Princess.

  3. If you’re able to get on a coach and put your wheelchair in the luggage hold the free bus will take you to the local train station. The service at the station is excellent for wheelchair users, we were taken to the first available train. We didn’t even have time to buy the tickets before boarding the train but the ticket collector issued us return tickets. It’s very cheap using the train rather than the ships excursion.

  4. On our past cruises Alfredo’s and the International Cafe on Plaza deck and pizzeria and grill on Lido deck have been open for lunch. We arrive in time to have our lunch in the MDR between noon and 1:30 and visit those locations later in the cruise

Thank you, I’ll try tomorrow before going to the MDR.

  5. Two shops spring to mind the first being M&S and secondly Asda these are the largest stores in Southampton. Both sell wine and spirits but there are also smaller express size shops dotted around the city. So really it depends how mobile they are and how far they’re willing to walk.
