  1. Just off the T-Day Emerald sailing, and I'm not a fan of the brewed coffee at IC. At the recommendation of the IC staff, I had a double expresso 'Americano' which was very enjoyable. This did require using a punch on the coffee card which, for me, was well worth it.

Since personal tastes vary, I recommend being prepared. Bring the Starbucks!

  2. Being from New England, the lobster on board is so pale in comparision (and taste!). There is nothing sweeter and more delish than a fresh cooked lobster. I'm fortunate that I live where they are available at a reasonable price...especially when you know lobstermen and can pay 'boat price'.:D

  3. oh thank you so much.

What was your favorite port or ports?

    All of them...I'm on cruise/vacation.:D

My cruise on the Ruby was Western Caribbean with stops in Grand Cayman (my favorite--loved the stingray bar), Cozumel and Princess Cays. Ocho Rios was a stop as well but the ship couldn't dock, and the stop was cancelled.

In 2007, on the Crown, we went to St. Thomas, Tortola (my favorite), Antigua, Barbados, and St. Lucia. I loved Tortola because it is not as developed (IMO) as other islands. I really enjoyed swimming with the turtles in Barbados. The beaches and snorkeling were fantastic.

I really like Princess and that class of ships. Even though I was on board during Thanksgiving week with full capacity and lots of families, it never felt crowded. I think the ship has a great layout. I like the Terrace Pool (one of the adults pool) and it really never felt crowded and was quiet compared to the main pool area.

  4. I had the pleasure of spending Thanksgiving Day swimming with the turtles (in 2007). It was a picture perfect day. I didn't feel that it was overly hot or humid, and it sure beat cooking for the holiday!:D

I was on the Ruby for last Thanksgiving. I hope you love that ship as much as I did. Happy Cruising!:)

  5. I would pay extra for a whiner free cruise- like if you whine about something you get fined and that money is spread back as a rebate to the rest of the cruisemate's!!! I get so sick of whiner's like the elevators are to slow, take the stair's people!!!!!! My GOD you are on vacation relax.

Then in tender line complaining its taking so long---dang I bet your friends scooping snow would just love to be standing here with you.

Then there are the people that sit by the pool and WHINE about the kids in the pool splashing- come on its a pool and there is water somebodys going to get wet. Yes I have kids but they are older now-

So yes I would gladly pay for a WHINE free cruise

    Your fellow cruise

    Rico

I so agree! You took the words right out of my mouth.

  6. Has anyone done the Thriller tour recently with Stephen in Barbados (ie. seaturtles, shipwreck, reef)?

Can you tell me how experienced of a swimmer you need to be to enjoy this excursion? Will the current push us far from the boat? How is the water in December?:o Will there be someone to help us and show us what to do?

I don't know how to swim (ie. can't stay in the deep end since I don't know how to tread) and my boyfriend is not a strong swimmer. However, the excursion sounds like so much fun and I've always wanted to try snorkling (BF has never done it either) but I am not sure if this is safe for us. I believe they supply life vests. We are in are mid thirties.

I've also posted this question on another board but thought there might be more people on this forum that would know more about this snorkling excursion.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I have booked with Stephen at Thriller for our upcoming cruise. We will be in Barbados on Thanksgiving Day. I had some of the same concerns about level of experience, safety, etc. He assured me that everyone will be safe and enjoy.

Since they limit the number of people to 14, they have one crew member in the water at all times. Stephen said that the life jackets that everyone has to wear can be inflated for those wanting that extra sense of security. Although it will make going under very difficult/nearly impossible, he said that from the surface you can see to the bottom.

    Hope this helps.
