  1. We sailed on a 10 night Vista Caribbean cruise in December. First Oceania cruise and we loved it.  I have to admit that we could hear so much from our neighbors. We were in a forward concierge level veranda. We could neighbors talking, arguing, etc. In my more than 20 cruises, it was surprising. It wasn't just the sounds from the TV. It was actual conversations. Just wanted to confirm what many others have said.

  2. We took our first Oceania Cruise on the Vista in December. The ship is stunning and we had several excellent meals. Just posting to add that it's not an exaggeration that the walls are surprisingly thin. We could hear our neighbors just from their louder speaking voices or when they got a little animated or were laughing. You could almost make out what they were saying if you tried hard enough.

It wasn't just a loud TV issue. I would think they'd do something different with insulation before the next build. It was really surprising.

  3. Please don't apologize. Someone was being very rude. Not everyone is tech savvy, knows how to post links, etc. They were trying to be helpful and got criticized. I appreciate the info. Thank you for spending your time to post.

  4. Thank you SO SO much for your extremely detailed review, advice and amazing pictures. I am planning a trip for 2020 and just wanted you let you know I appreciate all the work that went into something like this. I've gone through the entire thread twice and took notes. By the way, I did the 14 day Celebrity Eclipse cruise this past November/December, so I am anxious to read that thread.

  5. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. What an amazing thread. Wonderful insight, amazing photos and absolute friendliness to those who are seeking to share in just some of what you have shown. You'll be hearing from me more in the future, as I plan to take my first PG cruise in 2020. I just want to thank you (and all the others) for your time. This takes tremendous work.

  6. I've been on one Windstar cruise on the Wind Surf. I'm currently looking at various itineraries and see a Jewels of the Windward Islands cruise that leaves on April 7, 2019. It appears to be the last cruise of the Caribbean season before it goes away for the summer. Is there any downside to taking the last cruise of the season in terms of service or provisions? I think I read something about another cruise line and how the passengers felt things weren't up to the normal standards since it felt they were "packing things up" and ready to move on. I'm guessing it's not an issue. Just curious what your thoughts are.

  7. Thanks for the responses. I appreciate it. Although there are definitely worse things in life, arriving late and heading to the ship sounds awful. Since it's an 11 night cruise, we may only be able to stay one or two nights pre-cruise. We have a trip to Italy and Sardinia this summer and a Windstar Caribbean cruise next year, but it seems I am most excited about this one. Thanks again.

  8. Hello, everyone. First of all, I'd like to thank everyone for all your suggestions, advice and reviews. I've been a lurker on this forum for quite some time. I feel like I know several of you. I am now seriously considering a Paul Gauguin Cruise for early fall 2020. I know it's a little ways out, but I have two large trips planned before then. I'll have more questions in the future, and I do read all I can to avoid wasting your time, but I guess I can start with the airfare.

Does one get to at least choose early/late flight? I believe the answer is no. I understand there is a deviation fee if I go a few days early. This is a moot question, I suppose, if I go early, but I'm planning this with friends who may not have the time to go earlier. We're thinking of doing the 11 day Cook Islands itinerary based on the advice of this thread. Thanks for your help.

  9. I went on the Wind Surf and was really surprised at how stable it was. We only felt some movement on one day. I take Ginger capsules as a precaution. Our cabin was on the lowest floor and midship. I guess it depends on the conditions, but it was way smoother than many of my Caribbean itineraries on large ships.
