  1. Oh no! I am not worried my parents won't like the food or entertainment. They aren't picky people. But the motion sickness issue could be a real problem for my mom.
I get car sick to the point I can't read anything in a car, even looking at my phone for a minute makes me queasy. I have never had a problem on a ship. My daughter takes after me, but worse. She wears sea bands. (Looks like a wrist sweat band with a bead on the inside of the wrist). She has never had a problem on any of our cruises.

  2. Although we have taken several cruises, we have not done a Back to Back on NCL. We are booked to do this in October. I have some questions about this.

    1. Is there a number to call with NCL that allows you to link these 2 cruises as can be done with other cruise lines.

    2. Can you check in for both cruises on the first cruise or do you have to disembark (go through immigration, etc.) and then recheck in.

3 . If you are in same cabin for both cruises, can you leave luggage in room after first cruise or do you need to send it out and then recheck it.

Any answers to above questions will be greatly appreciated and any other helpful insight as to B2B with NCL would be welcomed.

We did a back to back on NCL out of Miami a few years ago. We all met and were escorted off the ship. (I think we were the last ones off.) We were given a tag and waited in a separate area. Once the ship was cleared we were the first ones to be escorted back on the ship. Since we were in the same cabin, everything was left there.

  3. badcrusing's complaint is minor compared to mine. I chose NCL specifically due to their brochures. The brochures showed young, vibrant, well dressed people. Yet when I was on the ship all I saw were people like me, bald, overweight men in loud Hawaiian shirts. The brochure showed happy people in the casino. Obviously they were happy because they were winning. (Is anyone happy because they are not winning?) Yet when I gambled, I did not win. I don't even want to talk about the pool. When I was at the pool I did not sit beside a gorgeous young blond who was totally into me. When I did meet a gorgeous young blond and attempted to strike up a conversation I heard such words as "I'm calling security" and "Restraining Order". Please contact me if anyone is interested in joining my class action suit.

  4. For my last cruise I bought a pair of Tevas. They are closed toed but open on the sides, etc. They are great around the pool or at the beach. they are easy to put on and take off and have the added benefit of drying quickly. I also bring top-siders. They are great on slippery decks. If they are not totally thrashed they can be worn in the dining rooms.

  5. Instead of a flashlight I bring a disposable booklight. I can use it to read without disturbing anyone and it doubles as a flashlight. I also bring a monocular. It's very small and about 5X. Very handy to carry into ports etc. (Mine was designed to get rough yardage on a golf course.) Always bring a hat. At the end of the day you can throw all of your stuff in it, room key, wallet, etc. and will know where everything is. (On our last cruise we ended up tearing up the cabin for my wife's lost room key. This isn't the first time she hadn't listened to me.)

  6. We did this 3-4 years ago on the Star. It was on the "dress up" night. The photographers had a couple of stations. There was no need to get an appointment, we just stood in line. They were not that busy so they were able to take their time. As we were with my bro-in-law and his family we had pictures taken of everyone, just the adults and then pictures of just the kids. The photographs turned out quite well and everyone was pleased. There was no charge for the sitting, just the actual photographs. I have no idea what the actuals costs were. I hope this is of some help.

  7. Years ago early in the morning in Mazatlan. Have your picture taken with an iguana. The gentleman puts the iguana on his shoulder. The iguana starts to pee, and pee, and pee. You could literally see the iguana get smaller by the second. After what seems like minutes the iguana finally stops. Of course by now this poor guy has iguana pee starting from his shoulder, running down his pants and pooling in his shoes. Being miles from the ship, my guess is that the guy bought some new clothes for the rest of the day.
