Drop off carry ons, sprint briskly to the Lido, get umbrella drink from roving bar waiters, get in line at Guy's, get comfy at the table and just breathe in that "finally on the boat" fresh air. Nothing quite like it.

JiJi's isn't really a kid-type eatery; chopsticks, etc. it's an adult friendly menu with service in a particular oriental manner. Little kids just won't appreciate the whole overall experience. 99% of the ship is kid friendly and welcoming. Why subject kids to an evening of being stuck somewhere they don't want to be? and why subject us grumpy old farts to kids being stuck somewhere they don't want to be? (I know, I know - can't help it.)

The Little Woman and I love Freeport - we have a favorite place for conch fritters and Kalik beer. Port Lucaya shopping area is lots of good stuff in a do-able space. Don't waste a good port day!

Thanks for the responses - looks like we may meet ashore. Her mom is quite debilitated, probably will stay in a wheelchair. We were trying to prevent having our friend (63) from dealing with disembarking with her mom. Their cruise is a Bucket List for her mom - she's pretty sure they'll make good use of the boat, but not thinking in terms of excursions. Maybe she can meet us for a little bit without her mom. We'll see - in the meantime, thanks for the replies.

Having cruised a lot, we've already done the "eat everything not nailed down" and can now exercise reasonable control . . . except for bacon, maybe. Yep, bacon definitely.

We're going to be on the Magic, in Roatan, the same day a friend and her disabled mother will be in port on the Dream (they are most likely staying aboard most of their cruise). Do you think we could visit with them aboard the Dream, since we're a Carnival cruiser?

1. Drink of the day and cheeseburger right after boarding
2. Turn-Around day of a back-to-back cruise.
Least favorite? Leaving!! Hate that so much.
Looking forward to a b2b-b2b-b2b in January , yippeee!

We have sailed w friends who had the L shaped balcony - it seemed Thierry interior room was smaller, but balcony was awesome. So, it depends on how much balcony time you want; our friends enjoyed sea days reading and sunning.

Yep, we keep coming back! Gluttons for punishment! (Attaining Diamond in March 2017).

We're booked on the Sunshine during Thanksgiving - have you spent a Thanksgiving aboard a Carnival? Please share info - we're curious as to what to expect. This will be our 26th cruise, but first on a major holiday. Looking forward to it!!!

Hard to choose best - dumplings in JiJi's, or calamari in Capitano, pot roast in MDR first night, bitter and blanc? Handmade Bloody Mary for sea day brunch? Can't pick just one! Worst? Either the nearly raw baked potato , or a very tired lobster bisque years ago. The good certainly outweighs the bad, for sure!!

. . . . who likes to log on to their Carnival Hub and watch the countdown clock? It makes me smile every time! 9 days - 16 hours - 11 minutes - 09 sec . . 08 . . . 07 . . . 06 . . .

The Little Woman and I are about to go on our Milestone cruise in September, and will go on our Diamond cruise next March. We view the ship as our luxurious resort, destinations as new adventures - what could be better!!!

31 to Milestone B2B on the Ecstacy. Can't wait!!!🍾🎉

Years ago, the good fairy upgraded us from ocean view to veranda. Smart little Carnival fairy!! We haven been without a balcony since.
Ca-Ching for carnival. :D

The band on Liberty really kicks it!

We cruised Liberty at the end of September , Aruba, curacao and grand Turk - in 18 cruises with Carnival, this is the first time we were unhappy! Our cabin was just plain hot! From the time we boarded to when we left. You could hear the A/C vent was closed and feel there was VERY little air coming out. Maintenance took the temp of the room (several degrees above "tolerance" ) but nothing changed. This was our 2nd cruise on Liberty, the first was perfect in every way. Last left us droopy from being unable to sleep well and cranky with Carnival. On the other hand we quite enjoyed the menu changes, the Alchemy Bar, and our dining room staff was wonderful. We're still complaining to Carnival, however.:(

79 degrees at 1:00 am is a deal breaker for us. Hot cabin really put a downer on our cruise last week. And we're Platinum ; obviously this has not been a problem in the past. But it sure us now!

In 7 days we placed 4 complaints. Temps never improved. If this is the new standard for passenger comfort, we're going to re-think things. It's a shame, we've had 16 perfectly wonderful cruises on Carnival. However I'm not paying good money to spend 7 days all hot and cranky.
And if they have fans to hand out ( to circulate hot air???) then they know it's hot as heck and they're not going to do anything about it!

We just sailed Liberty, and I can assure you cabin 9233 will probably cause you to lose weight via sweat bath! The temperature guy cam in with his digital readout - it was 78.8 deg. He agreed that was above standard, but nothing was ever done about it. The special down comforter spent the better part of the cruise on the floor! Preparing complaint as we speak. Sweat running thru my hair all night does not make for a happy camper. Out of 18 cruises with carnival this is the first time we've come home with a big complaint.

The Little Woman and I spent MANY a Happy Hour at the sushi bar, meeting up with friends cruising with us; doing away with sushi is a great disappointment! Taste bar is lame at best. We've complained every time, but I don't hold any hope it will ever come back. We finally resorted to sharing the cost of a small canapé tray that we took down to the bars/table areas and met our friends and enjoyed sushi and yummy tidbits - the portions on a small canapé tray were VERY generous. (Order day ahead at Cherry On Top)

The Little Woman loves the hair salon on the Fascination; that's her favorite indulgence!

We have complained BITTERLY !!!! about the painfully loud DJ "music" on the Lido wen first boarding. Conversation is impossible, noise level beyond annoying. We've given up trying to enjoy the outside (would love steel band again at a reasonable decibel level). I hope they send out a survey.

We are about to take our 14th cruise out of Jax. Easy peasy. Park in terminal parking, it's fast (drop off luggage at terminal then zip into pkg lot). We lije the security at the terminal pkg.
since we're coming in from north of Atlanta, we drive to Valdosta the day before, stay still Hampton inn, eat there at Cheddar's next door, sleep till about 8:00 am, or so, get ready, have a very nice complimentary breakfast, then finish the last leg of the drive (about 2hrs) and on the Lido by 1:00pm or earlier.
We love Fascination, and Jax is no hassle at all. Have fun!!

Alex on the sunshine, for sure! We've sailed with him several times now, and he ALWAYS provides excellent service and drinks.
