What is the law in Australia? This is the information I am reading. I am not a lawyer in the US or Australia or anywhere.
What the regulator says
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) says the terms and conditions in your cruise agreement dictate your rights, but adds that the Australian Consumer Law is "unlikely to apply to cancellations as a direct result of government restrictions. This may impact the remedies available to consumers".

I hope the Management Team is reading these posts. Let's all hope for the best outcome and remember that managing in difficult times is the true test of any corporation. My hearts go out for the crew. I will be slightly inconvenienced, but my job and income are not on the line.

I checked out and then I printed the itinerary which showed the excursions.

We are on the October Rome to Miami cruise. I have added excursions in Livorno and Portofino 3 times (I have a screen print) and the next day they are gone. What's going on?
-
One reservation per specialty restaurant would be 6 reservations since Rome to Miami is really 2 segments. The site says we can have 9 reservations (currently we have none at Chartreuse). We have been on Regent since 2003 and the website has never been this bad. I was wondering if the site was showing unavailable for all 3 specialty restaurants because the cruise is getting ready to be cancelled.

Are all the reservation restaurants really booked.? We can only get 4 and the site says we can have 9. We are on the ship for 22 days and we are 63 days from going Titanium.

Just tried yesterday to book ex for our Jan 15 Explorer cruise and it seems like there are not as many ex as the same cruise from MIA to LAX. Also. Regent doesn't list any ex with additional co pay. Anybody else having same problem?

Thanks I will check out Tour Mandalay. We have used tours by locals and Viator. I will also check Trip Advisor where I found the best guide in Venice for photo tours, Marco Secchi.

We will be going on a 7 day Myanmar cruise next Feb. Does anyone have private guides for Yangon, Inle Lake Mandaly and Bagan? Four of us will be touring before we board Belmond.

We recently cruised on Silver Sea for the first time and the itinerary was the deciding factor. I am so glad we were on Silver Sea with their pay as you go excursions because I was able to book private guides in most ports for a group of 3 or 4 for less than the group excursions. Money aside, the experiences that we had could not compare with a group of 30. We were able to really get to know the ports and the people and go to places that a ship tour would never dare to venture. People cruise for different reasons and for us a cruise is a no hassle way to see some very unusual sights. I do wish that Regent would have an opt out for Shore Ex.

We just returned from our first Silver Sea trip on the Wind. We are "free laundry" on Regent but found that doing laundry was not a problem as long as we used later laundry times. We both loved every minute of our cruise from the lovely attention of the staff, great lectures, terrific CD Mike (who was terrific especially with Trivia and Ann Marie's fabulous food. Our only problem was that the cooks left the calories in the food which was a big problem because the daily home made pasta was just like being in Italy. Also, Nikki in the bar was super fast with the drinks and always remembered my husband's special martini requests. We met wonderful guests and hope to cruise with them again in the future.

We recently returned from a wonderful Silver Sea cruise from Cape Town to Las Palmas, Canary. The ship handled all of the visas and we did not have a problem except for the 30 minute detention by the police in Cameroon. We tried to explain to the police that the ship was holding our passports and we were able to produce a copy but he was very upset and continued to yell in French and then when he really got mad yelled in English. This detention was a first for us and from Cameroon on we requested our passports when we went ashore.

Has anyone used private guides in Africa. We will be departing Cape Town on Feb. 27th for a BTB ending in Canary Islands. We have been to some of these countries before on a Regent cruise but did group excursions. So far I am trying to find guides through Viator private guides. We have used Viator before for small group guides all over the world and they were terrific. Their private guides are freelancers so any suggestions from people that have done private day tours would be appreciated.

We booked these 2 b to b's in December and just noticed that the first segment departing Cape Town on Feb 27th 2014 is waitlisted in every cat.
Does anyone know of a large group or tour company that is doing that segment? We were going to be on Crystal Symphony in March but the Silver Sea itin looked so much better.
