  1. I appreciate you dividing the videos into individual ports, as not every reader is interested in all 6 ports.

Plus, it is easier to read ( or view ) one topic at a time.

Thanks for your good work, it is really helpful in my decision to go on a Norwegian fjord cruise, and to choose an itinerary that cover most of these ports.

  2. Thanks for the link.

It is very informative, particularly the different view towards Thanksgiving in this province.

All I am looking for are shopping places for the mid days on sunday and holiday monday. Since the weather should still be nice, I prefer outdoor than the vast underground city shopping, or the traditional shopping malls.

  3. I have heard that Montreal is the best place to shop for clothes.

One time several years ago, I was driven past a street , going west to east, where there were lots of fashion boutiques.

It was quite a few blocks away ( perhaps south and west of ) from Fairmont Queen Elizabeth and not the side near Old Montreal. Any suggestion where I am referring to?

Appreciate suggestions for fashion shopping away from the Fairmont area ( we have been there before )

    Thanks.

The queue is usually not that long' date=' and if you can get another couple in the queue going to the same destination as you and they agree to share, it works out a lot cheaper.

Do taxis have room for 4 passengers plus the cruise luggage ?

Are some taxis mini vans that the rear row can be converted to cargo space?

    Thanks.

  5. It is very reassuring hearing this from someone who has resided in Sydney for years.

Perhaps, an elaboration is in order: I heard about the flying cockroaches from a trusted fellow Calgarian who did a work year in Sydney and Brisbane. We live in a cold city , where it could often get down to minus 30 degrees ( sometimes more ) in January. Cockroaches are not commonly encountered in our city. It was so uncommon that in 2012 , Public Health closed a restaurant because the inspector found cockroach in it. The health official suspected it came along with food shipment.

    The article:http://www.calgarysun.com/2012/11/22/alberta-health-services-closes-calgarys-globefish-sushi--izakaya-after-cockroaches-were-found

  6. I heard that there are big cockroaches that are capable of flying in Sydney, where we will visit in late January.

In searching for accommodation, I intend to avoid hotels with kitchenette to minimize the chance of cockroach in my room. Is that a totally unnecessary worry? People traveling with us are rather phobic towards big cockroach.

  7. ......- mainly due to dietary requirements or eating healthy reasons, I was concerned it may involve a set menu. .....

Good point. Indeed, with twelve guests at a table, it becomes very hard to cater to one who has food allergies ( that has been exceptionally well looked after on S & S )

  8. Someone has complained Blu restaurant on Millennium was closed last year during some Asian cruises ( Korea/Japan ) and the cruise line's explanation was that the cruise was a short voyage. Are they going to do it again this year ? Real shameful for Celebrity if that is true.

If you look at Celebrity website, AQ commands , in general, a higher fare than concierge and balcony cabins. On a charter cruise, we do not know if the fares are the same across these categories, so it's quite possible that when the ship is not at capacity, they just close Blu and have everyone go to MDR.

Thanks for bringing up this subject, it does make me consider Celebrity Millennium a possible trend follower of the Quantum ships.

BTW, my first language is chinese and I have sailed Millie three times. I agree with your translation in the previous post.

  9. for the wonderful posts and photos. It really allows us to see it from a passenger point of view.

Ralph Grizzle had posted some beautiful pictures from the pre inaugural presentation to invitees, and I got the impression that there's a fair bit of buffet style meals. This is a factor in whether I would do a river cruise. Does breakfast and lunch offer sit down a la carte service?

Thanks for taking the time to answer.

  10. Thanks for all the comments and suggestions.

We have dined Olympic nightly on two 7 -night cruises and the staff were really good in offering us off menu items after meal #3. Similarly, on Tuscan, we were also offered the same, so I am cautiously optimistic that this type of service is still available.

Appreciate you all in pointing out the potential pitfalls.

  11. We plan to take taxi from Giardini Naxos to Taormina and spend a few hours there. Is there a place in Taormina where taxis drop off people so we can get a ride back? Or, do we have to make arrangement beforehand for a taxi to pick us up at a certain time?

    Thanks.
