  1. I had already booked the cruise.

Just to add, this was not my first sailing. What I’m trying to figure out any documentation I have from the booking still shows my pre match status. I have since been matched to diamond. So when I got to check in will my final documents now show my status or should I wait for more documents from msc.

they said I have to send emails to voyagers but each email takes so long to get a reply

Having recently returned from a MSC cruise starting in  Dubai ,was refused boarding to the ship even with all the TUGO coverage ( as outlined by MSC )

    yes please share what happened.

  3. The train station is so close to the port in savona. So easily accessible.

I haven’t actually used the train but this is from Genova airport page.

I know that the train station is not connected to the airport.

Genoa Airport is linked to Sestri Ponente Aeroporto railway station by the Flybus shuttle service. Flybus operates one ride every 15 minutes. You can use the Flybus service with a normal bus ticket (1,5 euros) or the bus+train local ticket (1,6 euros), and with a tourist ticket.

We did one time in Venice, but that was when the ship docked at the industrial harbour and the passengers tendered back to Marittima port. We had booked a bus from there to Milan at 12 PM. We did not getting any notice in advance that we will not debark where we started the cruise. So maybe the port informed the captain also very late.

Anyway, in the morning without knowing where we are and how far away from Marittima, we left the ship immediately. So we easily catched the bus but waited two hours in the brutal heat of the unpleasent bus station.

Holy crap that must hAve been a long bus ride!! Why not the train?

  5. Thanks good to know, what did you end up doing?

When we docked in Civitevecchia late September we had half hour wait for the shuttle that dropped us in the centre of Civitevecchia. It was very busy but there were a few taxis parked near the shuttle buses and these were taking people into the town. Several people shared a taxi rather than wait for the shuttle bus, you are not allowed to walk in the dock area. Once dropped at the bus park there were a few taxis offering lifts into Rome at 20 euros per person (I guess this would be 1 way in a shared taxi) or Rome tours

  6. I’m trying to remember if I could self debark in Venice I don’t think I ever did in Venice. I have sailed out of there a few times.

I think it would be hard to argue the water level issue in Venice not being a natural disaster, they have declared an emergency. I’m shocked that insurance would not cover missed flight due to late arrival or unable to debark from original port. What else could go wrong? Seems odd. I probably would have done the same and book another flight

let is know how things go in Venice !!
