Ya I just want to make sure the extra perks are thier for this sailing. Like boarding, specialty dining etc..

You can status match at any time , but only once.
I just got status with Hilton diamond.
so I went from gold to diamond with msc.
-
I had already booked the cruise.
Just to add, this was not my first sailing. What I’m trying to figure out any documentation I have from the booking still shows my pre match status. I have since been matched to diamond. So when I got to check in will my final documents now show my status or should I wait for more documents from msc.
they said I have to send emails to voyagers but each email takes so long to get a reply
-
Had this happened to anyone? When I do the final check in will my status match show on the final documents? The documents I have now just show pre-status match.
-
Unless that is new, for us it was on our cruise documents. Not sure if it just applies to Canadians or what.

Just to update everyone I just got off a cruise from Miami. They never asked for the insurance

Having recently returned from a MSC cruise starting in Dubai ,was refused boarding to the ship even with all the TUGO coverage ( as outlined by MSC )
yes please share what happened. -
I would just like to know how hard they check. All the insurances I find cover it but the policy’s don’t say Covid 19 at all but all the faq’s say they cover what needs to be covered due to Covid 19
-
Can anyone recommend any insurance you have used that is accepted by Msc?
-
I got a reply to my email. They don’t do tours that late.
-
Thanks sent, sent them an email
it says 10am on their site. So they might not have later tours.
-
Will there be walking tours available when we walk out of the port? If so how much?
Our cruise is $68 per adult for a walking tour I assume I can find something more reasonable.
first time there so any help would be great!!

Kind of want a review of the actual excursion. But thanks for the info.
-
Has anyone taken this excursion how was it? My son really wants to go into the coliseum and this seems to be the only option from Msc. Can you give me your opinions? thanks.

The train station is so close to the port in savona. So easily accessible.
I haven’t actually used the train but this is from Genova airport page.
I know that the train station is not connected to the airport.
Genoa Airport is linked to Sestri Ponente Aeroporto railway station by the Flybus shuttle service. Flybus operates one ride every 15 minutes. You can use the Flybus service with a normal bus ticket (1,5 euros) or the bus+train local ticket (1,6 euros), and with a tourist ticket.

Lol ya for $1 that’s good,
how long was that trip 4-5 hours?

We did one time in Venice, but that was when the ship docked at the industrial harbour and the passengers tendered back to Marittima port. We had booked a bus from there to Milan at 12 PM. We did not getting any notice in advance that we will not debark where we started the cruise. So maybe the port informed the captain also very late.
Anyway, in the morning without knowing where we are and how far away from Marittima, we left the ship immediately. So we easily catched the bus but waited two hours in the brutal heat of the unpleasent bus station.
Holy crap that must hAve been a long bus ride!! Why not the train?

Thanks good to know, what did you end up doing?

It was very busy but there were a few taxis parked near the shuttle buses and these were taking people into the town. Several people shared a taxi rather than wait for the shuttle bus, you are not allowed to walk in the dock area. Once dropped at the bus park there were a few taxis offering lifts into Rome at 20 euros per person (I guess this would be 1 way in a shared taxi) or Rome tours

I’m trying to remember if I could self debark in Venice I don’t think I ever did in Venice. I have sailed out of there a few times.
I think it would be hard to argue the water level issue in Venice not being a natural disaster, they have declared an emergency. I’m shocked that insurance would not cover missed flight due to late arrival or unable to debark from original port. What else could go wrong? Seems odd. I probably would have done the same and book another flight
let is know how things go in Venice !!

Get trip insurance and your covered

I was told I didn’t get the 100 for the last cruise so he gave me it. I would have to wait till next year for the next 100 points but it would make sense for every cruise to be given the 100

all these are great ideas, our cruise is not for a while so I’ll check in with the till call and see what’s up there. Maybe I’ll see about time on my own might be good idea
Got a status match after I booked my cruise

At check in is there not an express line for diamond passengers or am I remembering that wrong?
