FYI - the 10 drink card for $75 was advertised in the Compass for day three.

We loved Westin Fort Lauderdale. Right on the canal.
We are staying there next month before boarding the Freedom... hope it’s good. Got a great deal on Priceline.

Anyone know if the Adventure has Voom, the high speed internet service? And how much does it cost?
TIA! Happy sailing!

You'll go through customs after you get off the ship and claim your luggage. At the airport, you'll go through USDA inspection before checking your bags with the airline.

They did on our January 9th sailing. It was 10 drinks for $75, and that included gratuities.
Good to know, thanks!

Curious to know if anyone knows if they have the drink punch cards available on the Adventure?

The only really big difference is that AOS doesn't have the flow rider.

Glad to see they're doing something about chair hogs[emoji3]

48 days for us... Can't wait!!

I'm cruising in a group of six in February on the Adventure of the Seas and one of our ports is Martinique, where I'm told doesn't widely accept US dollars.
Does anyone know if Guest Relations will exchange dollars for Euros?

I did this tour a few years ago with a bunch of family members. It's very intense, but doable. Go to you tube and search and you'll see what I'm talking about. We joked that we thought we were going to inducted into the army afterwards!

Anyone know what they did on the last dry dock? I was last on AOS February 2014.

ColoradoGurl,
I hear you about not being able to keep up with 5-7 drinks a day for a whole week... Especially with only one sea day. It just doesn't seem practical, not mention that it's almost $400 for the drink package. $400 on ALCOHOL! That seems crazy to me.
We'll be on AOS in February, and this will be our 4th sailing on her. We absolutely love the southern Caribbean route!

Has anyone ever used the Shipmate app to book excursions? It doesn't list the tour company or group operating the tour particular tour that I'm interested in for St Martin, so I'm just wondering how reputable are these tour companies?

Good points, I think you've convinced me this is the to go. Now I just need to convince DH :)

I never really thought about the casino padding the profits of the cruise line, hence lowering the cost of the cruise. It makes sense.
I can't imagine that we will have the chance to revisit Hawaii in another 5-10 years. There's too many other places on my bucket list to visit!
More things to consider....

We've sailed RCI 9 times and are now considering Pride of America, mostly because I like the idea of using the cruise ship as our floating resort as we visit the Hawaiian islands. I don't want to have 5 sea days as I would have on a RCI cruise, and there's the fact that we would have to fly to Honolulu and then fly back from Vancouver. By contrast, POA sails in and out of Honolulu. So, I've got a few questions...
1. How does POA compare to other similarly sized RCI ships?
2. Price seems high, even for an inside cabin. (Lowest price was well over $1000/ pp). Is this typical of NCL, or is the demand that high.
3. Opinions about doing a cruise of Hawaii vs. a land vacation in Hawaii... I'm really torn about this. Would we save any money by cruising? I'm starting to think the answer is no.

Just off AOS, our 3rd time in fact. Weather was fantastic, not to mention the ship itself. Yes, there's some wear and tear to be found, but I would expect that on a ship of her age. You can't expect perfection, after all. The bed was a little firm for my taste, but I dealt with it (so happy to get back to my bed)! Service was very good I thought... Windjammer- we were always greeted by a staff member and they offered to get us drinks. Dining room- waiter and asst waiter went out of their way to make sure we were pleased. Never even met the head waiter though. I thought it was weird they placed two non speaking English Puerto Rican women at a table of 8. We dealt with it, but it was very odd. I had hard time believing there wasn't a better place to put them. Cabin steward- very good... Didn't see him much, but did a very nice job.

I don't actually have any experience with this... Just a comment. In theory you should be able to switch cabins, but then your room key is attached to you sea pass account, so unless you plan on meeting up every time you want to get into the room you're staying in. And then if you did switch keys permanently, then I imagine a crew member would eventually question why he has your card.

Got some questions that I could not find on RCCL website.
Don't feel like calling them...yet so maybe someone here can answer these:
1. Are there penalty fees for changing the cruise date after booking?
The booking clearly shows cancellation fees but there is no info on what happens if you simply need to change a date
2. I am pretty sure that RCCL offers pack n play or crib for smaller kids. Do you have to call to reserve that? Do they offer anything else like diaper genies?
3. For RCCL, can travel agents offer any lower prices or extras that I can't get by booking direct? I know for Carnival, agents can't offer any lower prices than whats on the web...
Also, when I was looking at available rooms for a specific date that we are interested in, the balcony rooms are cheaper than oceanview. Does that mean that OV is nearly sold out or what?
I can only answer your first question. No, there's no penalty for changing the date, as long as it's before the final payment due date.

If you do it, it takes awhile to get food, so if you're hungry, be patient. I wouldn't do it again either.

10:45 should be doable... But on occasion, there are delays for the ship to clear customs, so just be prepared.

I thought it was very easy as you’ll get a code to use upon check in. Only had to do that one time. Internet was much faster than it used to be, but still not as fast as it is at home.
