I am so sorry. I cannot imagine how disappointed you are. Breaks my heart for you. 😞 I hope you will be able to reschedule soon and aren't out too much money.

All is good. I canceled the cruise, flights, hotels, and all tours, with no money lost. Everything was or will be returned in the form of a refund or credit. On the bright side, since I already did all the planning, I know exactly what tours I want to take and which company I will use, when I do reschedule. 😃

  2. Booked 3 tours through Italytours.EU for our upcoming cruise that was set to embark on April 17. Unfortunately, my husband has tested positive for Covid, and we will be cancelling the trip. I cannot comment on the actual tours, but the communications that I have had with Cristina and Mario throughout the entire booking process have been highly satisfactory. Will not hesitate to re-book with them when I reschedule this cruise in the future. My request for cancellation and refunds was processed swiftly. I am grateful for their generous cancellation policy, especially during these crazy and uncertain Covid times. It certainly gave me peace of mind when I decided to book with them. I appreciate how they run their business and treat their customers!

  3. Just spoke to an NCL rep on their chat, and after being initially told that NCL excursions were still required in Italy, I finally got this response:

"Thank you so much for your patience while I gathered that information for you. I do apologize, it was just updated while I was assisting that guests no longer need a shore excursion to tour Italy. You are also able to explore Spain and France without an excursion being booked Also, within three days prior for voyages departing from a non-U.S. port. If a guest is unable to provide proof of a negative result at the time of embarkation, testing will be available at the terminal at the guest’s expense."

Hope this helps! Been trying to get an a straight answer for days!

  4. A question: was the friend of yours also a suite passenger ?

We have a suite and intend to leave as late as possible, so do we need to get prepared for long waiting times (also for luggage) ? Thanks for advising..

Apologies for not clarifying. My friend was not in a suite, so she waited in the long lines with the masses.

I believe someone else here mentioned that they stayed in their suite past 9 and chose not to be escorted by the concierges. When they were ready to leave, they were able to bypass the lines and head straight to their luggage because they were suite guests.

  5. IMO, def worth it! If you are able and willing to splurge, go for it! The CLS made my recent cruise so much more enjoyable. It was great having 2 bathrooms, esp with my 2 kids (8 and 9 yrs old) staying in the room with us. Having 2 ppl being able to shower at the same time = more time to be spent doing all the other activities offered on the ship. I also had an aft facing balcony and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked the view from my balcony (as opposed to a view of the ocean). I got to see all the action, as the there were views of the basketball court, the 2 flow riders, the mini-golf area, the zipline, and down below was the boardwalk and the aqua theater.

I tell myself this: my husband and I work so hard...why not treat ourselves? :D Although now I just might have to treat myself each time I cruise again.

  6. Just off the Allure yesterday, May 1st. Suite guests were escorted by the concierges Ana and Dexter. There were 2 times to choose from...7:45 and 8:30. We chose 8:30 to meet in the suite lounge and were escorted to the champagne bar on Deck 5, where we waited a few minutes more. Then we walked off in single file with one concierge in the front and one in the back. There were a few ppl in the regular lines who tried to cut into ours, but we told them that if they didn't have the sticker on their shirt (provided by the concierges in the suite lounge when we met up around 8:30), that they could not follow us. We were directed to our luggage in an area designated for suite guests and pinnacle members and then went to a separate (and much shorter line) for customs. Smoothest disembarkation I ever had. Meanwhile, my friend ,who had a 10:30 departure, waited a very long time, esp for luggage.

  7. I have a Crown Loft Suite booked, with My Time Dining. I have read that suite guests do not need to make reservations for the main dining room. Can anyone confirm this? Do we just walk up to the front of the line?

Also, we have friends traveling with us who are not in a suite. We would like to have a few dinners with them. Will the concierge be able to secure reservations for a table of 8 in the main dining room?

  8. Why are children being charged adult prices if you prebook specialty dining and/or activities using the Cruise Planner? Am I supposed to expect an onboard credit for the kids when we cruise? I don't understand why kids do not automatically get charged the discounted price, when clearly the guest information in Royal Caribbean's system says that they are children!

    Anyone have experience with this?

  9. The tour bus got back to the Quantum around 7:30. There was a line getting through security and we got inside a little before 8pm, I would say. Our reservations were for 8:15 at Silk and we made it with time to spare. There were no lines in front of Silk (unlike all other nights we walked past the restaurant), probably because many ppl were not back on the ship yet. If you want time to change before dinner, 8:30 is the earliest I would probably make dinner reservations for.

  10. Just came back from from the Dec. 20 cruise. I booked iFly online 2 weeks prior to my trip. I caught the chance for reservations online and took it. Never saw it come up again. You can also book this at the activities desk on Deck 15, but I strongly suggest that you do this very early on. They were fully booked very quickly. After that, your only chance was to be be on standby and hope that someone doesn't show up for their appointment. This was a lot of fun! Also, you should know that you are not allowed to bring any items with into the chamber, so if you want a video or picture, you should have a third party who is NOT participating in the iFly experience to take it for you.

  11. I have made several modifications and added new reservations throughout the last few weeks, but I just noticed that my Cruise Documents do not match my most recent Cruise Planner Calendar. My credit card has been charged for the specialty restaurants I booked, and they are on my "Calendar" but it looks like the Cruise Documents have not been updated? I am sailing next week, so I am hoping that the ship has the correct reservations in its system. Anyone have the same experience?

  12. Anyone know how Royal Caribbean handles children with peanut allergies in Adventure Ocean? We will be traveling on the Quantum in December and I am only familiar with NCL's kids' clubs. NCL does not serve any food or snacks in the kids club and I am given a cellphone in case they need to reach me. I also leave Epipens with the counselors.

Also, I read that kids can dine with the Adventure Ocean counselors in the evenings. Anyone have experience with this? Are the menu options nut-free?

  13. I used Winsome Transport for a 5 hour island tour last week. I contacted the owner, Ralph Richardson through his website and he called me to explain rates and to set up a date. I was on the Norwegian Breakaway and he met me and my family outside the ship at 9am. I had a party of 15 (13 adults and 2 children) and we filled his air conditioned mini-bus just perfectly. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and entertaining. The tour was excellent and I highly recommend him. You will either get Ralph or his wife Julie, as a tour guide. I had Ralph and he shared many personal stories about his family, which I enjoyed very much.
