  1. Great review and pics!!!  Doing our first MSC sailing on Magnifica this Friday!  Your review really helps temper our expectations.  Not sure if you’re a drinker but wondering if you remember how the bottled beer is served.  Are they regular 12 oz bottles or larger cans (Carnival serves the larger cans). Wondering for koozie planning purposes.  LOL.

Thanks again for a great review.

  2. Thanks for the insight. Do they have any LGBT events/get togethers?  Don’t think we’ll have too many issues with the language barrier. We are pretty frequent travelers and are both accustomed to different cultures. Thanks again.

  3. Hi Edsny!  Hubby and I are sailing on Magnifica next Friday, April 26.  First time on MSC.  Definitely seasoned cruisers (100+).  Any tips or suggestions?  LGBT friendly?  Anything NOT to miss?  We are totally in the dark about expectations.

    Thanks!

  4. is there something from the ships that you wish you had? Like a collectible or a keepsake?  Does anyone have something from these ships or other ships that are now gone?

I was able to get the actual cabin numbers from my VERY FIRST cruise AND mine and my husband's first cruise together after the ship was "recycled".  (Different cruise line.)

    Just curious.....

  5. Just off the Empress on Saturday and got upgraded to a JS....

Cabin was comfortable but was the noisiest we have ever had in 100 cruises! Right underneath the pool deck and lots of music and chair moving noises from above at all hours of the day and night. If you do get a JS I would suggest maybe trying for one below the Spa.

  8. Deck - 11

    Cabin # - 11200

    Class – D1

Front Starboard, Front Port, Back Starboard, Back Port, Central Park, or Boardwalk -

Bed near?(balcony or bath) – Midship Port. Bed near bath.

Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – Very quiet. Not connecting.

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions or privacy was an issue– No obstructions. Could see bridge wing and deck 16 bump-out.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Larger balcony hence D1. Would opt for a lower category next time because larger balcony wasn't worth the additional $$.

Was wind a problem? No wind problems.

Any specific problems with this cabin? Too small for 3 people. No place to move after 3rd lower bed is made in the evening. Hard to get to balcony with bed made.

Any other comments? No cold water for the whole cruise. All hot. Maintenance unable to resolve the problem. Much less storage space than other ships. Location of closet not user friendly. Safe much smaller than previous ships. RCTV upgraded and MORE user friendly. Nice (and bigger) TV. Again, very tight for more than 2 adults.
