Wondering why masks were optional when it was stated in Cruise Compass that even vaccinated guests in vaccinated only areas were required to wear them.

Many of the stores in Punda sell it, including our favorite store Copperstone (at the back of the Gomezplein), Hanchi Snoa #9
Thanks so much!

Does anyone know of any shops near the cruise port that sell Alcolado Glacial? I bought some during a tour stop to Chobolobo last year, but won’t be heading out there this trip. I saw it on Amazon but that’s just not the same! 😁

The interior of the Carnival Pride was UGLY. Felt like Dracula's living room or something.
Couldn't agree more. We kept saying we felt like we were on the set of "The Munsters" or the "Addams Family"! :D

Our power strip was confiscated on the Brilliance last month, but they gave us an "approved" one to use. At the end of the cruise we returned it and got ours back.

We're due to get our first at the end of our 12-day anthem cruise. Do we ask for it on board the ship? We're driving, so not a huge problem getting it home.

We got ours on Anthem last month. I'd forgotten that we were due to receive one, and on the third day returned to our cabin to find it waiting on our bed. Turns out Day 3 was #141, so apparently once we completed #140 they delivered it.

We don't have the cruise history that you do, but we got tired of the RCCL "same old, same old" and decided to try Carnival again because we wanted to sail out of New Orleans. All I can say is we will NEVER sail Carnival again!!!!
I know what you mean!!:eek::eek:

Hi Guys!
My next cruise, Explorer OTS in October, is still five months away - so I thought I'd feed by craving by reliving my last cruise via my photos!
I don't know if any of you are interested but you can view them here:
You can also view a mini-video I made here:
Thanks so much for this! I'll be on Liberty in two weeks and this just pushed me over the edge of excitement! :D Congratulations to you, too; what better place for a proposal!

When you booked, did you request 8:30 seating for dinner? If so, and 8:30 is full, you were placed on the waitlist and placed in My Time in the meantime. They don't notify you when you come off the waitlist, so keep checking your reservation and you may eventually find it changed to 8:30. It will then state,"Traditional Dining 08:30 PM , No Waitlists".

I read one comment that said something like, you wait on line at home for a restaurant, so what is the problem with waiting for a restaurant on Quantum? Not verbatim, but to that effect. My question is, if you have a reservation, why should you be waiting? We are not fussy or picky and we are patient. We would not mind waiting a few minutes to be seated, but I have read posts where people waited 30 minutes to be seated, but they had a reservation. Now this confuses me. I might be off base, but is a 30 minute wait acceptable when you have a reservation?
You're not at all off base--I agree with you!

We had 8:00 reservations for the American Icon Grille and waited in line for well over 45 minutes. As it turns out, they said they weren't going by reservations that night and were just seating on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please keep in mind that many of those who disliked Dynamic Dining disliked it (and many were very vocal) before they ever took their cruise. These folks are continuing to voice their desire to do away with Dynamic Dining. Some of these are on a mission to ensure that Dynamic Dining does NOT spread to the rest of the fleet.
Please also keep in mind that there are folks who enjoyed all aspects of the Quantum (including Dynamic Dining) and are returning to cruise on her again before she sails to China.
We sailed with 3 other couples who enjoyed Dynamic Dining. Of the 4 couples, we are the only ones who post on Cruise Critic.
Please also keep in mind that corporate Royal Caribbean is NOT stupid. They will make adjustments and probably will have them in place by the time you sail.
If you board with a positive attitude (which you appear to have) you will probably enjoy the Quantum.
On the other hand, the "Negative Nellies" boarded with their negative mindset that sealed their fate.
I actually went in with a very positive outlook and ignored and tried to discount the "Negative Nellies" before we sailed, but we disliked DD and will never sail ships featuring it again. This does not mean the cruise wasn't generally great and a lot of fun, but the dining experience is an important aspect for us and this time it was a disappointment. Does this now make me a "Negative Nellie"? If so, oh well...

I'll be on the Grandeur with you. If they don't have the Absolute Mango on board, stop at a total a wine in Towson on the way home. They have it and at good prices

We took your advice and it was great! What a store--we don't have anything like it in PA! Thanks for the tip and hope you had fun on the Grandeur!

Great idea, thanks! Since his birthday's on Monday the 18th, getting it on the way home will save me from having to drive to DE or NJ the weekend we get back.
See you Friday! :)

Great thread with wonderful pics! This Friday we'll be on the Grandeur for the first time. We were supposed to do the same trip in June '13, but the fire caused a change of plans! Glad to be getting another chance. :)
I have a somewhat crazy question for those who've been on recently. Have any of you noticed if Absolut Mango is sold in the shop onboard. It's my husband's favorite and he's requesting it for his birthday. It's impossible to get Mango in PA, so buying it on board would be great. I got it a couple of years ago on Explorer, so hoping I'll find it on Grandeur as well.

I realize everyone is different when it comes to the foods we eat. But I wonder if it's necessary to pack any snacks.
Hi! My family and I are on the same sailing next Friday! Come over to the Roll Call board and join us. :)

When I got the call the Caller ID read, "PRESCRIBE ITU".

I am a lowly platinum :D and was selected to make my reservations early, which i did today. I was able to make them for us and for our friends whose reservations were linked to ours, as long as we all eat together.
I'm staying in a suite on quantum and thought maybe that was why i was included, but the C&A rep said no, that 8000 people were randomly selected and it did not depend on room type or C&A level.
I'm on the Jan 3, 2015 sailing.
It's our lucky day! At first I thought it was an April Fool's joke! :D

We won't be Diamond until after our next cruise in June, but just got the call to make dinner reservations for our December Quantum cruise. :)

Congrats to Richard Spacey...He is THE BEST! I just don't understand why they didn't just keep him on QOTS.
Any info on Dave Chapman? I've never heard of him. We are going on OOTS in Sept.
He's great! We had him as CD on Explorer a few years ago and loved him.
