  1. Unfortunately no. There is only the big round bed that cant be moved and there is little room around the bed. The bed is very big and comfy and has no problem sleeping 2. But there is no room for another bed. You may want to check out a 2 bedroom suite if you need 2 beds.

    Damn! Thanks for the info.

  2. I'm traveling on the Jewel in 2 weeks, a last minute decision. Traveling with cruise friends since 2003 and it will be a blast. They are married and I'm now single and would like to know if there are any venues or get togethers for a person in their fifties? ThNks for replies. Happy cruising

  3. Sailing in 2 weeks!!! We love our pre-dinner martini when we cruise. Recently on Another cruise line and they had a green olive stuffed with a tiny pickle that was to die for. Does RCCL have these? Found them online but I really don't want to pack them in case of breakage. Don't want to smell like a pickle for 7 days. Responses please. Happy cruising.

  4. Fellow Cruisers, I am on the Getaway as I type this. I am in an aft balcony and I am very saddened by the amount of garbage that has appeared on our balcony. There have been numerous cigarette butts, granola bar wrappers and half eaten sandwiches. I believe all that read this, being CC bloggers would not do this. Question, how do we make others stop?!? I am paying premium wifi time to send this so hopefully you know I am sincere about what I am posting. On a nice note, we are on a fantastic Xmas Cruise on the getaway. Any questions, please ask.

  5. nCL told me d there not 18% tip charge for beverages..Am I right? Also for the Upssclae dining package there is not a fee tacked on for the dining charge. Do I have this right? Would like to hear from cruisers that had these perk packages. Any definite answer would be so appreciated.

  6. Multiple trees throughout the ship. The ones on either side of the big screen in Atrium were attractive . . .

The week before the actual Christmas sailing, the Food/Beverage team created a gingerbread village in front of Le Bistro that was quite nice. Here is a before & after picture . . .

    So festive thanks for posting

  7. I have not cruised on the Getaway for Christmas but have on NCL ships. There will be decorations all over, but it will still look like a cruise ship. There are wreaths and trees about. The dining room will have holiday center pieces. They usually have some sort of gingerbread village or two (atrium and or buffet area). There is a special Christmas show (well there was on the smaller ships in the main theatre) and music around (depends on the performers). There is a special Christmas meal for dinner in the MDRs. The always available part of the menu did not seem to be available, but the meal was terrific. Santa makes a few appearances. Also bring your own decorations for your door if you like.

ThNk you for the info. Our 1st holiday cruise and I'm excited

  8. The CEO is way off in left field. After one cruise at the higher nickel and diming pricings for specialty restaurants, room service and drink prices, taxes and tips, cruisers may decide to chose anoth line. I love cruising NCL but the rules are getting way to complicated. So much for their "free style" montera!

  9. We will be there December 2915. It'd love to hear positive because I was there when they were renovating, in Sept 2012. The flies were all over the food, the food lines were long and the beach chairs were all taken. I am traveling for the holiday with my daughter and her boyfriend. Has this beach changed for the better? I would, love to hear details of how they have improved this beach because I truly don't want to spend the day on the ship. Thank you

  10. I cruised on the Getaway in February and had a wonderful time. This will be my first Christmas cruise (a bucket list item). Traveling with my daughter and her boyfriend. How is a Christmas cruise different from other times of the year? Do they decorate the ship? Do they play Christmas music? Is there a special Christmas meal..... Any replies are so appreciated

  11. Cruising is supposed to be a no brainer, pack, get on the ship, unpack and relax. NCL is making cruising complicated and after my next cruise I may rethink what my favorite cruise is. I believe they have made an error rethinking the specially restaurants pricing. There will now be diners going in for an appetizer or two and leaving for dinner in the MDR. I would do the same but what the hell is NCL thinking? Are they in financial trouble or is the new CEO wacko?
