We always purchase the Carnival Vacation Protection. We had to use it once. When DH needed surgery, we canceled. We filed claim, provided copies of everything the insurance company needed and received a refund minus a few dollars. I don’t remember what the few dollars were. But our refund was almost the full amount of our cruise.

we also purchased the Vacation Protection Plan, when will we receive documents? we already made final payment...

          we thank you in advance..

  2. The $50 will be deducted from your on board billing as soon as you take the excursion.

HOWEVER, you will NOT be awarded the $50 if you book online. You have to either call the excursion number prior to the cruise, or book on board.

how does it work when you take a post cruise tour from ncl

  3. Our cruise on the Star disembarked in LA on March 11. We had booked the excursion to LAX that included the Farmers Market and Olvera Street, among other locations. We had time to get off the bus to go through the Avila adobe, then Hollywood Blvd & Highland (where Hollywood Blvd was shut down for a block for filming) and then at the Farmers Market where we could purchase our own lunches. We have been to LA several times but had never done Olvera Street or the Farmers Market. We were familiar with Hollywood Blvd, having been to the El Capitan theatre and Walk of Fame before, so we used our time to nip into the Disney Soda Fountain shoppe for sundaes and to purchase some Ghirardelli chocolate! We were fortunate to have an engaging guide who shared his own experiences in Hollywood and had our driver follow an interesting route that we hadn't taken to the airport before. We chose a tour over renting a car because of its convenience. There isn't a rental agency at the pier so it was simple to have our luggage loaded onto the bus and then ride to the airport. We're considering doing the same one in October after the Bliss repo - hopefully it will be the same!

what time did you leave the ship and what time did you get to the airport? we plan on taking that tour...

  4. Our flight was at 2:25. We were off the ship a little after 8:30 and on the bus at 8:45. The bus left a little after 9:00 and we were at the ticket counter about an hour later. I didn’t notice where the taxis and Ubers were as we were being herded out of the terminal and focused on finding the bus. Hope this info is helpful.

    Sent from my iPhone

how far did you have to walk to the ncl bus?? I thank you in advance.

  5. OK - use the Google Sat image LINK:

    https://www.google.com/maps/@33.7448843' date='-118.2761173,416m/data=!3m1!1e3

From the bottom of the image where the Battleship Iowa is on static display move up

and see a blimp like building and then further up is the NCL cruise terminal.

See the hash marks for the pedestrian walkway crossing the traffic lanes in front of

the terminal - cross the traffic lanes and see all the white jagged areas - THIS IS where

contract motor coach buses shuttles leave from (and arrive) - LOOK for signage for

what the venue you need. Also ASK ?s to make sure that this is correct and has not

    changed !

Zoom out and look at the top of the image and see the cruise channel take a 90 degree

turn to the left - you maybe alternatively be berthed at that terminal.

The primary pier position is in line with the Battleship Iowa for reference.

You can ZOOM the map image in and out for better idea of the area.

Zoom way out and look to the right and where the I710 freeway ends at Long Beach harbor

see the Queen Mary and this is where Carnival docks - you don't want to be here ![/quote']

    where is ncl shuttle bus??

  6. you are doing it the right way: we always stay near LAX, well not always, we stayed in San Pedro once, and take the shuttle from the airport. You can use NCLs shuttle or one of several others that are a little less expensive. We stay at the Embassy Suites, They have a wonderful made to order breakfast and a managers cocktail hour with drinks and light appitizers each night.

from the port of san pedro, getting off the ncl star, how far is the pickup area for super shuttle?? I thank you in advance.

  7. Yes, it was a great cruise for us. The crew was great, the food was good, the weather cooperated as much as could be expected, and most of the excursions were very good. Not everything was perfect but on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being perfect this was an 8.5 or 9.

did you notice, which shuttle busses going to the airport were waiting outside of the port??

  8. Jealous!!!! But, have a great time!

I'm one who did the Nighttime at the Vatican Museum. It was Friday nights May through October. It was so amazing to go through and have no one else in the rooms with me. I also love to just walk through Rome at night. I have no fear whatsoever doing this alone. And, each night the last time I was there, I would finish off the evening by sitting out on the patio of the Rome Cavalieri hotel, glass of Barolo in hand, and just looking out over the lights of Rome.

would you know how the weather is at night for walking, specifically in November.

    I thank you in advance.
