Caribe are half covered so they stick out 1/2 way but as mentioned you can retreat back to the covered area. They are the biggest reg balconies and a tad larger then the mini suite balconies.
Keith,
If you check the SQ FT..they are almost twice the size of all other balcony rooms.

On my last cruise to MX 10/20 out of San Pedro, They seated us in a "preferred boarding" area, but when the lines opened, the mob rushed the line and jumped in front of the preferred boarding. It was obnoxious and no one really did anything about it. One of the attendants said "it is just this terminal that is so bad"???Why doesn't Princess do something about this???
This will be my 19th Princess cruise next week, hopefully it will be more congenial. Also, first time in 18 cruises, our luggage did not arrive until after 6pm, even though we boarded at 11:30 am?? My lst experience on the "Grand" & I am doing it again..hope I have a better experience. Did express my disappointments in my survey!!

Have eaten there on the Coral, Emerald & Star. Disappointed every time. Yes there is alot of food...but found flavors, etc. lacking.

This will be my 5th cruise to AK leaving 5/23 out of Seattle. It is a beautiful time to see AK...more snow, more animals, etc. Two prior were in late summer and did not compare. I am partial to Princess, but have been on 3 HAL cruises & they were good, but crowd is definitely "older".. Don't bash me, I am 72, but not ready to give up at 8pm yet!! Also, the Ruby is one of their newer ships and having been on Emerald, looking forward to sailing on her sister!! Just my opinion. Haven't sailed Celebrity yet, but with 26 cruises, will try that one yet. Have heard wonderful things about Celebrity.

Have stayed there numerous times in the past and have always been happy, but last time, wharf rats built a nest under my engine cover while parked in the HD parking and didn't realize until I had my car serviced a couple of mos later. This time, in 2 weeks, staying at BW in San Pedro where they have sheltered parking. Hope I have made the right choice??

Sorry if I seemed to infer that one should be fearful of travel as I certainly am not. I leave on my 24th cruise in 2 weeks and already have another booked, first one in 1973 on board "Spirit of London." Just cautious about where I travel when and the eastern "Med" would not be my choice right now when there are so many other beautiful places that are not so distressed.

There seems to be a lot of price drops and sales on cruises particularly those headed for Europe & the Mediterranean. In view of what is going on in our world today, not surprised. Have been both places, but would think twice about booking in that area right now.

For sure you don't want to miss Nelson's Dockyard. We had a wonderful day with Voyages Antigua a well run family business....Lawrence of Antigua lied to us, pretending he didn't know where we would meet Voyages, I would never use him.
We meet again, your buddy Cindy in BHC.Will be in the Caribbean for 20 days in 3/29-4/18/14 and was interested in your info on Antigua. Looks like a day at Coconut Beach is the best option for us gals. What to you recommend??
Cindy:)
ps-looks like you are back for the winter!!

John, (Copper), thank you so much for giving us some fond memories.
We also cruised on her the following year when she was the Sun
Princess, our first Princess cruise and we are still sailing on Princess
as well as other lines. Thanks again for the time you put into these
wonderful cruise ship histories.

Our first cruise was in April, 1973 aboard the newly christened "Spirit of
London", P & O. She was small, but beautiful and arrived in San Pedro for
her maiden voyage from the US in Feb that year. We cruised to Alcapulco
via Puerto Vallarta and Manzinillo, spent two days in Alcapulco and land
cruised to Mexico City for 4 days & flew home. It was great! My DH didn't
want a long cruise where he would be confined on a ship for more than
4-5 days -- so here we are 28 yrs later and our next cruise on HAL in
Oct is 28 days. So much for getting hooked !!:D
This ship became the "Sun Princess" a year or so later.

Crown Princess-"Elite Lounge" experiences?
in Princess Cruises
Posted
Will depart on my 21st "P" cruise in Dec & have never experienced this & my guests were always welcomed and never questioned. I reached Elite long before my 15th cruise because of "days on board" as I took my first "P" cruise in '74.
