Reminder 8 home test kits are still available through the postal service at USPS.COM.  They can't be used for precruise testing but they can be used when you return for peace of mind or if you are exhibiting symptoms.  Travel safely!

They can be used for the virtual testing appointments though which is coming in handy for our cruise next week for the 5 of us.

I've seen on here where people say they get out of their cabin by 8:30, take their luggage with them and go to the Lido to have breakfast and drink coffee until all numbers have been called, then get off the ship. I don't know why we don't do that as we drive home so most of the time we're in no hurry to get off the ship.

We do this every time we cruise but we do check our bags the night before so we are not having to lug them around in the morning.  We drive to port so are in no rush to get off, and then we don't have to deal with the longer lines of people trying to get off earlier.  Our experience has been that between 9:30 and 10:00am is the last call to get off.

The reason for asking the question was our experience on our last two cruises. I was glancing at prices for Summer 2023. The price difference is about $1,000 for 3 of. I know my daughter would never use the balcony. I couldn't care less for it. My wife can just go to another deck to find a spot to assist. I am looking at $2k vs $3k for a cruise.

We prefer balconies, but would never pay $1000 more for one.  We don't use it enough to justify that much extra.  Unless its around $200 or less of an upcharge, we go with interior rooms.  We enjoy how dark it is in the interior rooms also.

  4. We were just there in February. Beautiful place to go and planning on going back again in October.

I didn't take pictures, but if I remember right, the price for the plates they offer were around $22 if you bought a la carte. It came with beans, rice, plantain chips and seafood, chicken or beef when we were there. If you don't like seafood, you can request just chicken, or just beef. The beef looks a bit strange, but tasted pretty good. The lobster meal for 4 I think was around $85 or so?

One very important thing to remember. They do take credit and debit, but will charge 15% for the convenience. If you bring cash, be certain that they are newer bills with NO tears in them at all. I had a $50 bill that had a very small tear at the top, less than probably an 1/8th of an inch, and they would not take it!
