Has anyone taken the ferry over to Hotel Bakoua recently? How often does it run?

Are you able to access the beach and shade at the hotel? Are there day passes or other fees?

Looking for any and all details,  TIA.

Were you able to go there?  We are on Enchanted Princess and will be in Martinque on Feb 12 and this looks like a place we would like to go.  We like getting a Day Pass at a beach.

Or, could they be designating it for CC dining?  Or, the 360 experience?
I guess you will find out soon. Let us know.

Did they book anything for you?  Or, did you have to rebook?

Same thing happen to me for my cruise this Saturday the 28th. All my reservations at Cielo for 7pm cancelled. I had to switch to Soliel at 7:40. Really wanted 7pm!

You could also take the local train to Benevento and just get a driver from there.

We thought of that but looking for easiest way for the day. My grandfather grew up in Colle Sannita so we are looking to see the street where his home was, church and cemetery. We only have the one day.

I think we need to be more realistic here...you are talking about committing a driver and car for 4 hours of driving, and that car and driver will most likely sit and wait for the return trip. Likely to be a 6 or 8 hour commitment. Not cheap.

We are looking for transportation and yes we would need the driver to wait for us. It would probably be a 7 hour day. We got one price quote of 300 euros. This was a company rated well on TripAdvisor.  I was looking for a comparison quote

    thanks

  6. I think our flight leaves Barcelona at 10:15. No online check in so need to be there in good time! I'm sure we will be off super early (I'm mentally preparing myself already - seems a cruel way to end the vacation!!)

I agree, it is a cruel way to end a vacation, but looks like we will also be getting up early to get to Barcelona Airport early as no online check in. We are going to take a cab there as we didn't book the transfers with RCI.

  7. Thank you for the welcome!

We booked our flights through RCI so unfortunately the timing is not down to me - it's a little early for my liking!

I think we are going to learn a lot this cruise and will be experts for the next one ;)

What time is your early flight out? We are arriving on Liberty of Seas in Barcelona on Oct. 20th and have a flight at 10:25. We are going to walk our luggage off the ship so we make sure we get to the airport early. We are flying TAP and only have one hour layover in Lisbon so don't want to miss our flight in Barcelona. Also we don't have seats assigned yet so want to get to airport early for seat assignment.

  8. The email address is rcldining@rccl.com

Thanks for posting the e-mail address. I wrote and requested 6:30 dining for every night which I could not get online for my husband and I and 2 of our friends at a table for 10 and within an hour of my e-mail, Marlene Prieto

Administrator, Restaurant Operations wrote back that she had made our reservations for 6:30 everynight and we just have to arrive together. I feel much better about it as I didn't look forward to standing in a line when we boarded trying to change our reservations.

Bravo, RCI! We are really looking forward to our cruise on October 7th.

  9. We have always been accommodated after e-mailing that e-mail address, so I would highly recommend it even though you have already "requested" a two-top.

We are on the October 7th voyage and when I went to MTD, nothing was left on 4days but 7:45 and that time may make it impossible to see the show. Thanks for e-mail address, I am going to write and see if they can help us change our time to between 6:30 and 7:15. We are happy dining with others at a Table for 10 so that is not a problem, only times were terrible. I will let you know if they respond to my request.

  10. For all those that will be sailing the Explorer on the 7 day Bermuda cruise remember that this a new itinerary. They have not sailed this in the past and it is possible many things will change. They will be docked for two nights so show times may be different (only one show?) ice show at night?.

The Sept 9Th cruise was the first 7 night so we will have to hear from them to get the updated info.

    Dick

Thanks, Dick. Yes, we are on a 7 night itinerary. I didn't realize that it was 5 nights before this week. I hope someone can tell me what the times of the shows are on the 7 night one when they return. I just hope the 7:45PM dinner doesn't block us out of seeing any show. I will try to change it when we board.

  11. Having just gotten off of the Explorer, I can tell you that the show times were 715 for late seating and 900 for early seating and 1030 the few times that there was only 1 show. If you eat at 745, you're not going to make either show. We did not get off of the ship and clear customs till 1045. You had better get express departure at guest services, otherwise, you'll be paying the car service wait time and that is expensive.

That is a bummer for us. We did get 6:30 on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday but the other nights are 7:45. I am hoping to change the dinner reservations when we board the ship. Do you know which nights there was only 1 show? We enjoy the shows and will be disappointed if we don't get to see them. How long are the shows? Maybe we can change the 7:45 to later.

Thanks also for advice on Express Departure.

  12. We are going on the Explorer on Oct. 7th. I just got around to booking My Time Dining and terrible choices are left. I ended up booking 7:45 which is probably too late to make the show. We were hoping for 7pm. Are there any opportunities after we board to change these times to 7PM or are we locked in now?

Another question, we have a car service picking us up in Bayonne. I told them to come at 9:30AM. Is that a good time or is it too late?

Also, what is earliest time you can board the Explorer in Bayonne?

Thanks for all your help in advance.

  13. You can get on around 11 or 11:15am. We usually arrive at the port around 10:30-10:45am. By the time we drop off our luggage, park, walk over to the terminal, and check it, we are ready to be one of the first people allowed onboard (without having to wait).

Just know that you won't have access to your cabin until 1:30pm. So, you'll have to lug your carryons with you until then. (We check almost all our luggage except for one large tote bag each with essentials in it).

Lunch is served in the Windjammer starting at 11:30 or 11:45am

That is great news so we will leave about 9:45 fromour home in NJ.

One other question, ours is the 7 night cruise to Bermuda, does anyone know what time the shows are on this one? We can make MTD reservations ahead of time. Not sure what times to pick. We prefer to see the show first if there is an early one before going to dinner. Otherwise, after a huge dinner, we tend to fall asleep in the show. LOL, showing our age!
