  1. Maybe because he wears pants or suits all other times... comes to vacation and get away from the norm. To enjoy the ports and ship and not to be rushed to dine... maybe he deals with the elegant most of his life and just wants to get away and let his hair down (I wish I had hair to let down).

I wear long pants and collared shirts into MDR dinner but would love if it was more relaxed.

Not really a good comparison.... so you are saying, those that don't wear these daily dress codes want everyone else to get fancy, for what reason? Because one doesn't have a job that suits and ties is required and this is your only time to wear such attire... then I say wear a Suit and Tie... but don't judge those that don't

Well, if you want to get really comfortable, why not go nude? Really, that is the reasoning? You dress up everyday. At least it isn't that one is too poor to buy long pants or too big to find his size. If there are guidelines one knows ahead of time what they are one can decide where to vacation.

  2. Why do many men on vacation no longer want to wear long pants? My upper class brother is one. However, he would never suggest to wear shorts to a business lunch with a customer. If you want to be comfortable in informal attire, go to the informal venues. Allow those of us who elect to abide by the guidelines enjoy the more elegant atmosphere. All are available. This is like asking will children be allowed in the 16+ areas? Probably no one will say anything but it will make many people uncomfortable. You get your way at the expense of others.

  3. I am on my first full day on the Allure. We were on here exactly a year ago. We, my husband and I, were sticker shocked last night by the drink prices. We especially like to get a glass of wine and have tapas at Vintages in Central Park, usually daily. $15 a glass for a wine that costs $22 a bottle at home feels like gouging. The price on the tapas has gone up too. We spent there on three small tapas and two glasses what the specialty restaurants have cost in the past and what a restaurant costs. We've decided to not drink except for the wine we brought with us.

  4. Well, my husband and I were on the Allure on our 40th anniversary which was March 9. 2015 and Samba was just OK. It is nothing special. We had been to Chima in Fort Lauderdale two days previous. Hey, I wanted the day to be exceptional. They even brought out a chocolate cake and sang to us. However, we had to wait for the meat which was not cooked as we ordered. The salad bar is nothing special. It cost close to what we paid for wine and beer on land at Chima. Oh well. The night at Chima was special.

  5. Just got back from the Allure. Danced six of seven nights at Boleros Latin Club with live music. One of the reasons we chose the Allure because my husband and I are salseros. Just venting a little about parents who bring their young children and turn them loose on the dance floor. It is not a family wedding reception where everyone finds that cute. I see a babysitting service is available if you want to go out at night. I was glad to see a bartender told parents their six year old could not sit on a barstool at the bar.
