We do January every year on a B2B. It may be a little cool sometimes going out of home port, but by the next day, it is always plenty warm. Never had a problem with pool being too cold.

We're getting ready to book our first B2B on Magic next Nov..
A 5 day then an 8 day.
Soo excited.
So if we were to purchase booze the first leg. Would we pick it up morning of debark or will they know we have a B2B booked.?
Thanks.
They will know you have a B2B. Gone are the days where you could enjoy that first week's purchase the second week!
-
We've done one S2S and several B2B, with another coming up next month. Love it! We always make sure we have the same cabin so we don't have to pack anything up.
On the second week, the crew will know you better and can be real fun, especially the bar waiters.
We have also been able to keep the same MDR table and wait staff for both weeks.

Nice un-biased review!
We have sailed the Dream several times and have a B2B coming up next month.:D

Another vote for the Kyss bag. The chain loops around a chair or table and also locks the zipper shut. High-end security.............No. If someone REALLY wanted into it, they could. But, a snatch/grab and run isn't going to work if the bag is attached to a beach chair or table. Most thieves are not going to sit, messing with a lock when there are lots of people around.

Sailed the Dream last December.
Now booked a B2B for January!:D

Dance clubs (discos) are usually so DARK, that it is hard to tell what anyone is wearing..........
-
lol that was a very mixed set of answers :)
I see that! Upcoming is our 22nd and 23rd cruise with Carnival. I think, by now, I know..............;)
-
Several people call me by my middle name. When I got my passport, I had it done so my full name was spelled out on it. Did the same with my Driver's License. Does away with questions!
-
SHIP TIME! Don't go by local time or you may be left standing on the pier!
-
We are on the same cruise as the OP. Received an UPSELL call a couple days ago to go from balcony to suite for $500. BUT, they could not do it for both weeks of our B2B for the same money. that, I would have gone for.............:)
We've been in a suite before, and other than some extra space, we don't think it is worth the extra $$.

We are leaving Sunday. Weather forecast at the ports is all in the 80's
-
Late. Nice having the same table and wait staff every night. Plus, this fits our "normal" dinner time at home, which is usally late.
Another benefit of late seating is fewer people (as a rule) and fewer kids that may choose to run amok.
-
We always get in to the port city at least 1 day ahead "just in case". Usually it is 2 or three days. Can start vacation sooner that way! :D

I was not impressed with entertainment, either on the Dream. I looked in on a couple of the shows and was not impressed..........Glad I didn't choose to sit through it.
However, did enjoy the Blackjack Band when they played on the Ocean Plaza.
1st comedian, I had seen before on the Conquest. Same routine and more vulgar than funny. The second one was great.

We are sailing on Breeze this coming Saturday for an 8 day cruise. My husband is a big football fan. Can anyone tell me if you think they will show the wild card games on the big screen this coming weekend and the following Saturday?
Thank you.
I'm counting on it! As a rule, the ships with the big screens DO show playoff games. I watched them last year on the Conquest and plan on watching a few on our upcoming B2B on the Legend.

Yes, there is.

Has anyone done the Best of Cayman Amphibious bus and snorkeling tour with Carnival?
Trying to decide what to do on GC..
It looks like it might be fun. We normally don't do Carnival excursions, but might make an exception for this. We will have two chance...Coming up very shortly!:D
Most of the time we hear them they are babbling about the amazing sales.
Just one the Dream and the best of the social hosts was comedy club manager. At the moment dont even remember who the CD was other than he was an English fellow.
AND........His announcements were spoken too fast and lasted too long, so it was nothing more than a stream of drivel for us.
We usually do not even notice the CD unless he/she does something either spectacular or annoying.......... -
Sailed both ships. But, HMC would be the tipping point for me! Love that place!
-
I'd go with option A as well. We always arrive at least a day ahead "just in case".
We normally drive to port (22 hrs to Canaveral), but are breaking tradition and flying to Tampa next month for our next cruises. Leaving here the 3rd just in case the weather should turn bad and cancel the flight, I would still have time to drive it, should that become necessary.

For the most part, I don't really notice decor unless it is really ugly or over-the-top. Might be because I'm a guy......
The only things that really stand out in my memory are the overload of grapes in the Miracle MDR and the excessive use of pink on the Splendor.
The Legend has an interesting concept with the "urn theme", but I don't consider it ugly or beautiful.
Liked the Dream, overall. The only thing that stands out in my mind, though is the stripes on the carpeted stairs.........Played havoc with my bi-focals!

When I tip a bartender or waiter, it is lump sum on the last day of the cruise, in cash. Makes "my accounting" much simpler!
CCL stock holders
in Carnival Cruise Lines

We do the same thing. On our upcoming B2B, we have $200 OBC for each week.
We bought our CCL stock in 2008 when the stock market tanked for $28 a share. We've done from 2-5 cruises each year, so think it has been a good investment. Plus that OBC is tax free!
