  1. We left our packages in the vehicle at all stops. Took our credits card cash & id with us we could see our things on the picnic table while we swam.

Waterproof wallets are great too I got an inexpensive one at AAA.

I wore my swimwear under my cover up but my friend used the changing rooms.

  2. Not a dumb question.

What worked for me when cruising with my 3 year old was to play it by ear on board and see what she was interested in. We spent a lot of time together as a family, but she did go for a hour or two when it match up,

You could set it and change the reservation later or just wait to see how the first few days go.

I don't know about excursions. I never considered that one. Port of call section has lots of good info on things to do with kids if you haven't explored those boards check them out too.

  3. I enjoyed reading review before my trip and decided I needed to try a malloca for breakfast from Cafe Mallorca and Mofongo for lunch or dinner from almost anywhere. Both were delicious!

Monfongo is meat or seafood with sauce in a plantain cup.

Mallorca is a pressed breakfast sandwich with ham and cheese (or other options) and powdered sugar . My picture is bad of this but look cafe mallorca up there are lots of better pictures.

  4. We didn't get off the ship on Oct 5th until after 11:00am . I would have been flipping out if I had a flight that early. Then customs was backed up too. We had planned to tour the forts before our 4pm flight but ended up just eating some lunch and heading to the airport a little early as we didn't feel like we had enough time for sightseeing.

  5. Yes guess we've crossed over to one of those odd people who bring their dog back a gift, but Funship Freddie is a pretty durable guy. Keeps that devilish grin on his face the whole time too.ImageUploadedByForums1413924099.562417.jpg.a251638ce1760aa4d710b3a472794ae4.jpg

  6. What are you, a member of the RCMP?

Apparently you're far more sensitive about this than the OP (and it's pretty obvious that you haven't a clue as to what it means to "knock others").

I posted questioned answered earlier because I was feeling pretty stupid that I had posted such a dumb question.

I was thinking, of course incorrectly, that the room steward would bring it who enters the room all the time. The information from posters is helpful to us who are not as knowledgeable about things and often feel pretty dumb after posting. My initial plan, I realize now ,would be ridiculous and I'd rather have the information ahead of time.

So a note thanks to those helpful folks.

  7. Thank you for the answers.

I will try to prop the door open and listen. Glad to hear they let you know a time frame. I envisioned it being hard to hear out on a balcony and them banging on the door while others cabins tried to sleep. I like to see the ship pull into ports and look forward to trying room service while I watch.

  8. I've often thought of ordering room service while enjoying balcony time but wonder how it actually works. Must you stay in the room waiting? Or would they let themselves into the room if you didn't hear the door?

I am thinking of leaving the tip out on a table with a note. Just wondering how that might work?

  9. RCCL sells B-52 shots at dinner. Is there something wrong with this?

Nope don't think it is "wrong"

I just think of dinner in the main dinning room as almost like a special meal in a fancy dinning restaurant back home. So to me that is kind of odd and not something I am accustomed to. just my opinion.

This thread is interesting to me in that the cost of the drinks seem really high and I would love to add a little spike to my lemonade out on the balcony.

    Thanks for the tips!

  10. Did you ever notice that this topic is almost always talked about every day on Carnival boards, and very seldom on other boards. Whenever a person starts one of these, on the Carnival board, it makes Carnival look bad to others that might be thinking of going on. It gives the impression of Carnival being a giant party boat, and turns people off. Why not just sneak it on, without broadcasting to the whole world, how easy it is?

I have noticed this and I think it is because many of the cruisers are in fact interested in this. It is what it is. I found it odd to read they sell shots at dinner. It is a bit different atmosphere.

However I found this thread informative and appreciate the tips I learned, because I too am one of the ones interested in this.

  11. Was just on the SPLENDOR last week......after having the Szechwan sauce, I had to go back to my cabin and change into asbestos underwear.

Ok that was rather funny. I actually chuckled out loud.

This whole thread is cracking me up. I am reading it like it is a suspense novel and getting more and more excited to try this. I think I am getting carried away with this all, yet I have my own questions now.

:pI love that sauce they give you at restaurants with Moo Shoo Pork. You are suppose to spread it in the "pancakes" then add the moo shoo and roll it up. can anyone tell me if that is the same sauce as Carnival's black bean?

2nd question is can I make my husband a bowl in addition to mine and have them cook up two different dishes or must he stand in line too? He always goes for the quickest items then complains
