  1. I pulled out my old capers and it had on it; oriental fare from PC Wok, fresh sandwiches from Paul's deli, steaks and burgers from The grill and seafood from Sue Mer's. If you go hungry than if would be your fault :D

Make sure you check out Sur Mer's which is a good sea food place which I think is on deck 10. Also make sure you go to the pursers desk and get you a couple of the little fold out deck plans which shows you where everything is at.

I don't remember seeing any steaks at the grill I could have missed it I seen burgers, hotdogs, fries, and nachos yum yum

  2. I leave in 7 days on my first cruise!!

Question about food/drinks- i know drinks aren't included but have been reading all meals, cold room service is included.

Is the "coffee/dessert" bar not included in price?

what places do i pay for food and what is free? deli/sushi/ice cream etc-

so if i get hungary in mid day- do i have to pay since its not a meal time?

They have a little kios that is like a starbucks that have special coffee and big ole peices of cake that cost extra if you want that other than that all the food that you want should be free unless you go to the supper club and it cost an extra $30 each but it's worth it.As far as a mid day snack they have the hamburgers hotdogs and all the fixins ice cream and yogart anytime and the 24 hour pizzaria or room service anytime

  3. Which deck is the Sur Mer located on, directions? Another question, first time cruiser question, in the elevators, are they specified as deck 1, 2, 3 etc or by names Empress, Riveria, etc? Don't hate me for asking, I'm new to all this:D and it will be me waving good bye to the Harbor House web cam next week:) see ya......

  4. Wow! A 9A wrap on your first cruise! You will be spoiled from here on! I have never been in one of those cabins, nothing higher than 8C, but have heard that they are marvelous! You are going to have such a GREAT time! I have had all different types of cabin, from inside to balcony, and the balconies are definitely worth the extra money, but if I could only afford an inside, I would take the inside rather than stay home! I love to cruise and can hardly wait for one to be over before I start planning the next one! I guarantee you and your DW will be the same way! Will it just be the two of you? Or are you planning to travel with children? Friends?

Just the two of us it is kinda a belated honeymoon we got married last sept and wanted to wait so a hurricane would't blow us away

  5. I took my first cruise in 2001 and there is nothing more exciting than planning the first one! However, this will be my seventh cruise and I am still pretty excited! Cruise Critic has been THE BEST tool I have ever found to get you ready to go. All the information you could ever need can be found in these pages. I just try to keep my head down as it seems quite easy to offend some people. When I went on my first cruise, I was so prepared it made everything so simple. No nasty little suprises in a foreign place....:) I felt like a pro before we ever set sail!! If you ever have any questions, feel free to ask me, I'll share what info I have! Happy sailing!

Thanks we are starting out in 8455 an 9a aft wrap what a way to start according to some they love it or hate it we will be the judge of that the only thing that i read bad is the noise from above with this one the scraping from the chairs (earplugs) My dw has her heart set on the dunn falls excursion so we booked it through carnival and went on are own for the other 2 stops

  6. Small world isn't it? We're driving to Galveston also. Looking forward to the road trip! We're actually getting a vacation without any kids! Is this your first time on the Conquest? I've sailed her once before, but it will be my husband's first time. We sailed the Valor out of Miami last May. Cruising is the only way to go!!

The Conquest is a BEAUTIFUL ship and this itinerary is alot of fun! I hope you and yours have a wonderful trip!

  7. Im a big ice tea drinker. And, the brewed kind, no instant for me! And, Ive not been on the Conquest yet, but will let you know soon! My expierence has not been that good on cruise ships as far as getting ice tea goes. But, out of all the ships Ive been on my best expierence was on a Carnival ship,so Im hoping the Conquest will follow suit..I always make it a point to tell my waiter in the dining room that I LOVE ice tea, and that I want it all thru my meal. I dont drink coffee,so I even want it with dessert. Once, they would always forget, and then they would try to make some, dont know what they were using..but it was always SO strong. So, I would get them to bring me another glass with ice in it and I would use that along with my dinner water to make some drinkable tea. I know, Im bad.:) I also like lemon, and once they said they ran out of lemon for the whole trip..the only time you saw lemon was a litle piece of someones fish..so, I told them to bring me some lemonade, and I used that..tbc.. Dot

Keep my updated I love good fresh brewed tea cant stand that other stuff yuk!!!!
