Hey everyone, Thanks for the help.  I called Celebrity this morning and the agent quoted me the price and it went way up. The agent said that even though I paid double as a solo, when you add someone to the booking, go from solo to double, the room is repriced to current rates.

Is this correct?  Should I try another agent?

There may have been a pricing discount on the booking originally that no longer exists.  For ex., my husband and I just booked the Alaska cruise and there was a sale on for 75% discount for the second person, which was a good deal. If we were to make a change, they'd probably have to reprice the cabin for a higher rate...??? or I could be wrong....

  2. We've been on the Breakaway. Beautiful ship, lots to do. Food and service were excellent. We'd have no problem booking it again...and in fact we have! But as CasinoCruzGirl said, we've also found that a cruise really is what you make of it. There are always going to be naysayers. Go and enjoy!

  3. I've read some not so positive, and some downright negative, reviews of the Supercruise. I expected some consternation because of the ship configuration on the NCL Getaway being so different from past supercruises on other cruise lines. But, Hattack, I am waiting with bated breath for your review as I'm sure it will be a most thoughtful and enlightening analysis (but no pressure, of course!). Thanks in advance.

  4. If there are people that want to play this "free" game, they should let me know. It would be really fun to have a mini tournament with 5 to 8 players each night or a few times. Maybe there is a $5 convenience fee to enter that gets split up :)

I would think that introducing a cash component, including a fee, into your plan, takes it to another level (gaming? without a license?) and may actually make it problematic or even a clear violation. Just sayin'......

  5. I'd like to hear from those cruisers who have experience on the BA traveling with several immediate family members and who required wheelchair accessible cabins, or preferably suites. (I've read that there are 42 WCA cabins on the ship, but I've only actually tracked about 23 using the BA deckplans on the website.) How did it work out for you? Were you in a connecting cabin for other family? Details please. Thanks in advance for your info.

  6. We've sailed in the H6 before on the BA and after seeing the spa suites we decided to do H6 on our upcoming cruise on BA again. Relaxing on that large balcony is the best, and the walk to the Haven to dine, which we did at least two or three times a day, was great exercise. We wouldn't have it any other way!

  7. We've sailed in aft corner suites several times on different cruise lines, and we've experienced no such issues. I can only wonder if it's only an issue when on a lower deck(?). The lowest deck we've sailed in an aft is 11, and there was not a trace of soot.

  8. THAT is the question! I thought you had to ask for one, but maybe not...

Actually, come to think of it, after I booked, a PCC called and said he was my PCC, but I didn't contact him and just called the main line if I needed help.

My experience had been similar to yours. I never asked for a PCC, but found myself receiving calls/messages from a particular one. I always call the 800 number for each of the companies I've cruised with to book our cruises and have had no issues getting their assistance. To this day, I still receive emails from the PCCs of the various cruise orgs.......

  9. Does anyone know if deck 10 on RCC Explorer of Seas is below a pool, I was just reading all of these comments and now I'm a little worried about my cabin assignments. That would be a problem if you can't sleep. I have cabin1639. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

We stayed on Explorer's deck ten (Rm 1608) in Sept 07. Deck 11 does have pools, etc. (it's their "Lido" deck), but our experience was perfect. Our suite was midship, near the stairs/elevators, which led straight up to the Windjammer Buffet so it was very convenient. I was told when reserving, that the rooms are supposed to be noise proof, but who would believe that?!? Lo, and behold, No noise problem at all, and I ALWAYS have to get my sleep (every little noise usually wakes meicon8.gif)! I worried that I had forgotten to bring earplugs and sleeping pills as I had intended, but they were not necessary at all.
