I’m honestly not surprised at all regarding the deck 9 cabana cabins. I thought they were described accurately prelaunch and are exactly what I expected which is why I didn’t book one!!

I agree and I actually did book one! I’m fine with people being outside on the cabana deck in order for us to have direct access. The only thing I am disappointed with is the 2 level glass on the balcony railing of the deck but I can live with it. I have absolutely no intention of paying to use chairs around a pool when I would usually get adults only for free so this is perfect. I’d much rather put that money towards a weekly pass at the thermal suite.

  2. Thank you all for your input! I felt they were appropriate(considering he wears it for his Military Ball!) but it seems from the board the formal night dress code is a very sensitive subject for some and wanted to make sure the DH wouldn't feel out of place!

    Thanks again!

  3. I wanted to post this here before I posted on the line specific boards (hoping not to get 10,000 responses as I'm sure I would on there based on other questions). We have only sailed previously on Carnival but are booked on a Celebrity Cruise in January. On Carnival, my husband has always worn his Class A Uniform on the first formal night and something a little less formal the second formal night. There are usually several people in uniform.

I know that Celebrity Dress code seems to be a little more formal and wanted to know if any of you who may have been on Celebrity know if it will be ok for him to wear his Dress Uniform (Army Dress Blues). I know it's obviously ok but I wanted to make sure there wouldn't be people who thought it was not appropriate. I can't imagine they would (but I want to enjoy my vacation and don't want anyone acting weird). He has nice pants/sports coat but I really don't want to invest in a suit for him considering in most cases where he would need to wear a suit- he has to wear his dress uniform anyway (and we're having to buy a new one since he still has his same Class A's from Basic 5 years ago and they are getting a little tight!)

Thanks for any input you might have!

  4. Our first cruise was on the Carnival Legend in 2008 (we're relative newbies) for our honeymoon. Yes we were hooked right away. Getting ready to book our third cruise for January. Went to Las Vegas for a vacation this past June and afterward we just looked at each other and said we wish we would have taken a cruise! Won't make that mistake again!!!:D

  5. jps7117 Thank you for your reply. I am re-considering the balcony actually! I would love to have it but I'm really going to have to consider the pricing option compared with the use option when we do actually get to book.

I've enjoyed so much reading about everyone's experiences on Legend and just can't wait until we get to go!

  6. This will be mine and my new husbands first cruise (our honeymoon cruise!) Unfortunately we can't book until about 3 weeks before sailing because he is currently deployrf and when you deal with the military you never know when return dates will change so we have to wait on him to get back and find out his leave dates! I realize this will make my cabin selection a little more difficult. We are hoping to book a Balcony on Legend but I don't really know anything about which decks to book on and how that affects pricing?? I know there are extended balconies and balconies with obscured views and things like that but I don't know if one deck is better than another or which side of the ship is better??? Since this is our first cruise I was just trying to get some advice from some of you who have been numerous times before! Obviously we might have to go with what's available but I want to have some knowledge at least for any choices we might have.

Any suggestions or advice would be wonderful. Just a note- I have found these boards SOOO helpful in planning our first cruise- thanks so much to everyone who posts all the helpful information on here.
