xpcdoojk - we were looking at the compass for our upcoming Oasis cruise and all the Flowrider sessions are labeled as "advanced stand up" now. On past cruises, they usually had the first hour of the day for "advanced" only. And the rest of the day, they had staff helping the newbies.
Have they just renamed the stand up side as "advanced" to try to deter people from it? Or, is it a covid issue where they don't want staff so close to guests, so you have to be able to self-start any time you use the flowrider?

It varies by sailing - it could even be more than 95%.
That seems crazy to me. On all the RCCL cruises I've ever been on, there are LOTS of kids under age 12. Surely, they make up more than 5% of the passengers.
-
I know that 12 and up have to be vaccinated (unless there's some medical reason that they can't be), and all crew as well. But, ages 11 and younger do not. Does anyone know what percentage that amounts to? I've seen the number 95% kicked around, but surely the kids 0-11 make up more than 5% of the passengers on board, don't they?

I have used this test on two Carnival, Two HAL and One Royal Caribbean cruise over the last 5 months. Yes it will work. We usually get our results back with-in a few hours.
Thanks so much. That's what I needed to know! Apparently the rapid antigen test isn't offered by Walgreens in our area and this is the only test they offer with results in time!

If it's not proctored via on line it's not eligible for the cruising test. So look at the box and see.
Most of the store purchased tests aren't proctored.
It's not a take-home test. It's done at Walgreens.

This is the rapid test that Walgreens is offering in our area. It doesn't look like it's PCR or Antigen (I'm no expert). Does anyone know if this test result would be valid for RCCL?

Sailing out of Miami (if that matters). It used to be that you could check in, and leave the terminal if you wanted to site-see etc in Miami. With the new allocated time slots for check-in, is that still possible? Or once you're through check-in, you cannot leave for any reason?

There is a group for 12-14....no worries!
Yes, that's what it was last time we were on Allure, 9-11, 12-14, 15-17.
The new deck plans for Oasis say the teen lounge is for 13-17 year olds.
-
I was just looking at the app for my upcoming Oasis cruise in a few weeks and it looks like they re-vamped the teen area and it specifically says that area is for 13-17 year olds. The Adventure Ocean areas still say they're for 3-11 year olds. What about the 12-year-olds? They used to be part of the Teen group/club, but now it looks like they've been forgotten about. Anyone know?

Does anyone know if they have the various flavors of sparkling Dasani water in the Freestyle machines? I've searched and searched and the images I've seen show only the lime flavor option (not all the other flavors that Dasani sparkling comes in).

We are thinking of taking the bus to Maho Beach. Does anyone know of any place in Philipsburg to pick up a good picnic lunch to bring with us? I know there is the Sunset Bar and the Driftwood Boat Bar, but to be honest, we're not looking for burgers and bar food. Last time we were there, we went to Marigot first and picked up sandwiches, but it's my understanding that most of the cafes/bakeries in Marigot are still recovering from Irma.

It's been my experience that you can always debark at a LATER time than your tags say, just not EARLIER. If you try to debark before your time, your luggage won't be ready. If you try to debark later than your time, your luggage will just wait for you.

I'm assuming the answer here is 'no', but figured I'd ask. If on a ship that offers WOW bands, is there any way to program the bands to open the kids' door as well as your own? Or, if you choose to get the WOW band, the extra key card would still have to be carried?

Oatmeal is also available in MDR with similar toppings. The MDR buffet has more selection in terms of toppings. If you order oatmeal they usually bring with sides of brown sugar, nuts and raisins. Waiter will add hot milk, if you wish.
I'm confused. Is there a buffet within the main dining room? If so, what is available on it? And, does the whole table have to either do buffet OR be served? Or can some choose to be served, while others eat off the buffet?

I called and prepaid my gratuities after the cruise docs were available on the website. I've been checking and it doesn't appear that they are updating my cruise docs to reflect that I've paid them. Is that a problem? I have my receipt showing I paid them (which I'll bring with me), but I'm wondering if normally they update the docs and somehow there's a problem with mine.

We're on this sailing, too. Do you think my 9 year old son would enjoy it? Any input?

For my March HOTS cruise the last sale (a couple of months ago) I got was Surf/Stream for $8.99 one device...are you saying it's now $7.49 for the same or just Surf
Surf & Stream....7.49 per day on my March Allure cruise
-
Weird. For my Allure cruise in March, the only options are 1 device or 4 devices. 2 isn't offered at all.
Now, the price for 1 device went down today to 7.49 per day, so that's pretty cheap, but I'm surprised I don't have a 2 device option.

I did get confirmation from RCCL that the early dining time has changed to 5:30, but according to the online schedule, the show times haven't changed. So, I guess that means our 5pm shows won't work. Too bad because now some of the later show times that would have worked are all booked up.
-
When we booked our cruise for March, we had a confirmed early seating at 6pm. Now, my online booking says 5:30. Does anyone know which is correct?
I had booked a couple of 5pm shows knowing that we would be able to go straight from the 45 minute show to our 6pm dinner. If dinner is now at 5:30, that obviously doesn't work....

What are drink cards?

We were on the Getaway last year and I seem to recall getting tender tickets for our tender ports as soon as we got on the ship, but I can't remember where. Can I do it through iConcierge? Or do I need to go to one of those screens by the elevators?
-
We had 5216/5218 on Getaway and never heard any noise from above.
-
Had this EXACT situation on the Getaway.
I emailed the documentation dept (email above) and while it did take several days, they eventually sent me an email yesterday asking me to accept the terms and conditions on their behalf. I emailed them back accepting and this morning they emailed me the cruise docs directly for the kids' cabin. They didn't send me luggage tags and told me that we should pick them up at the pier, but I just used the luggage tags for the adults' room, so no biggie.
I did go back and check the kids' reservation online and it still doesn't show that check-in is complete or allow me to download the cruise docs from there, but I'm not worried. I printed what they sent me and I believe we should be fine.

I suspect it has to do with keeping the positivity rate on the cruise below the 1% threshold that many of the islands seem to be using to determine if they'll allow the ship to dock.
