  1. thanks book bug ,

can you go to the steak house for just a glass of wine. or do you have to have an entire meal? my wife is more of a wine girl and I want her to enjoy the wines that are part of the cheers program. I hope not to buy additional bottles of wine ( even at 25% off) thanks to any and all in advance.

I've gone to the steakhouse bar on every cruise just to get a drink. I've always told the hostess that I just wanted a drink at the bar and it was never a problem.

  2. This is exactly what i'm trying to do. I've heard of the steakhouse bar having a bourbon or scotch that others may not

I'm going on the Legend in 12 days. I'll definitely check it out and post back here on this thread when I return.

  3. I've always gone to the steakhouse bar for a drink before dinner in the MDR. They always had a great selection of Scotch. Some 18 year old single malts. Except for the last time, 2 years ago on the Dream. They just had what every other bar had. I hope they have brought the higher end stuff back. I always just told the hostess that I just wanted to get a drink at the bar. Never a problem.

  4. that library list is pretty much what i was looking for. Thanks I agree in thinking that Woodford is pretty good. Makers is always tasty just was looking to see what else they offered. Don't recall seeing Bookers on the ship but thats a cool addition . Have a bottle of that sitting right in front of me right now. I sail again in a couple weeks so if i have any new findings ill be sure to post them. Thanks for all the other replies

I would love to know what single Malt Scotch they have at the steakhouse. If you go there please let me know. Thanks

  5. Technically no you can't get your kids shakes/mocktails, and the bottomless bubbles the asupackage only gives them access to sodas. However the Cheers package gives you 15 alcoholic drinks a day, plus unlimited specialty coffee, sodas, and mocktails. If you really wanted to you could just order a mocktail for yourself using cheers and then give it to your child. The nay-sayers will jump me for that idea though.

I've never done it, probably never will, but have nothing against it. Why do you care so much? Just an honest question, I can't figure out why this offends people. There's tons of stuff I wouldn't do on a ship, that others do that I won't do, but it doesn't get me all riled up. I just quietly say to myself "nah I wouldn't do that" Do you really think this is a critical rule??? What about adults who book themselves in a cabin with one child, and the other parent in another room with the other kid / kids, and then swap rooms? Does that bother you too?? People are thinking too much. Just relax , have ai good time and don't worry about what others do, unless they threaten do beat you up in the buffet line for no reason (which happened to me). Literally no reason, still can't figure it out to this day, but that's another story.
  6. honybunyyyBlazinSunsetsui;49677096]You are correct in all PrinPrintcekmmmnmmmmmmmnnnnnnnmmmmmof your 49607011 ugh . It would be nice if Congress uuown u arnivalu did have a middle plan like the 'and more' one you are talking about from yyPrincess, but they don't. So, technically, no you wouldn't be uh in this otter the allowed to get your kids shakes with your Cheers program, even if they had the bubbles one.

  7. Also, I need to combine 3 reservations for MDR. In the past I've emailed carnival to combine our dinner seating ... and still have to fix it when we get on the boat. How can I make sure it's done before ... so I don't have to stand in line after the muster drill?

I've emailed the MaitreD and had the table arrangements made that way. Just use the ships first 2 letters and ##maitred@carnival.com Example for the Legend it's lemaitred@carnival.com Give them names, cabin #'s and booking #'s. It takes a little while but I got an answer back in 24 hours.

  8. What I understand is all balconies can open to each other. Except the aft balconies. But that the dividers open outward to the railing. Correct? Also wondering how bad does it block the view? Is it terrible or not to bad? Thinking of booking 2 regular aft balcony cabins next to each other aft on empress deck.

  9. We're getting 2 rooms next to each other and want to open the balcony door between the 2 rooms. On our last cruise on the Dream you had to have the right rooms to be able to do that. How does it work on the Legend? Does it matter which rooms we get? Does the divider block anything? Any help appreciated.

  10. So glad to hear that no one is aware of current sickness going on from the Dream out right now. That is great news.

The trouble with Norovirus right now is that according to the news, it is sweeping the land country right now like wildfire. Just increases potential for it to hit ships with all of the traveling ahead of time, etc. It did hit RCL this week and that does not seem like a surprise if it is sweeping on the land. So, just extra aware of hand washing all along the way from the start of the trip even on the airlines. Call me a freak, but as a nurse, my poor family is going to get nagged now about the hand washing and I'm bringing extra clorox wipes that will be started in use on the arm rests in the airplanes.
