Princess bought these in a few months ago.

For some ships, it is a nice addition. Those ships already had a "casual" dining venue with a pp charge - such as Salty Dog gastropub.

Other ships, such as Majestic, have Alfredo's pizzeria which you could dine at for no additional charge. That is no longer the case. If you don't have a package, you now have to pay to dine there.

We walked past Alfredo's on Majestic many times last weekend - you could just about hear the crickets. What a shame.

    Thanks

It would be easy to blame a chunk of ice, but even Royal is calling it a technical issue with one of their pods. Pity for all those that made their way to Seward to find that our after they arrived.

I hope Brillance stays in good shape for your upcoming cruises. We have friends that boarded yesterday for b2b's x6

We are booked on Brilliance 17/9 & 24/9. Whatever the reason... I hope they fix the Radiance asap... I know how I would feel if it was our cruise

  3. Back to the original question we are booked on the Enchantment's last Alaska cruise in Sept 23 followed by the trip to Hawaii. Having been on Quantum of the Seas, we decided that whilst these Mega ships have every possible amenity they lack a few essential things (in our mind). They have no character and none of the quirks that the old ships have. Things like the Pacific Sun where to get to one of the dining rooms you had to go up a floor along a corridor and back down to the original floor. Nothing major but quirky. Also the mega ships have NO Viking Crown lounge. Our favourite spot on RCL ships (we have been on 4). Just our opinion

I  forgot to add that we are on the return in April 23. so I am taking the plunge and suggesting the Transpacific this year will do the same. The Tahiti restictions are:

The French Polynesian island of Bora Bora has announced a ban on mega cruise ships, restricting port calls to cruise ships with a capacity of less than 3,500 while those with a capacity of more than 2,500 will be restricted to Tahiti, Moorea and Raiatea. Cruise ships carrying more than 3,500 passengers will be denied entry.

So springaussie  ,what about these transpacifics and Tahiti?

From what I understand even Radiance can’t go to some of the islands in French Polynesia.

Ive been thinking they may drop Tahiti and go to Samoa or something but they still have Tahiti and Bora Bora on there schedules.

We are on the "Radiance""... well that's the plan. it will be an overnighter in Moorea

I have also followed this experienced adventurous couple, who do a world cruise on HAL every year.  As they now cruise around the Caribbean on B2B cruises, the situation seems to be getting worse with numbers of covid passengers and crew, missed ports, ports with many shops closed, restrictions for visitors, etc.  It has become a mystery cruise which wouldn't suit everyone.

This couple is obviously fairly well off being able to do a world cruise each year and good luck to them, but I really wonder what would happen if 1 of them caught covid and got quite ill. Would any insurance policy actually cover them ( in the manner we are used to ) ? Could well stretch most peoples finances !!!
