I’m going to be herding the cats for 7 days. Hopefully the retreat hosts will help me.

    @Sox Fan Cruiser

Around our August Avalon river cruise, I am taking 9 cats from Paris to Amsterdam to board our boat and after the cruise, herding everyone from Basel-Lucerne-Wengen-Zurich with adventures in between!

You guys are pikers😜. Talk about herding cats, our group for a B2B2B for OZ/NZ is 20.😲

Our group name for our tours is "Herding Cat".

Really though, our group is very organized for the most part. We have traveled together for years and know we travel well together.

  2. I am a knitter and plan to bring some knitting with me to pass the time on the long flights. I use natural fibers that have been processed and dyed.

I know Australia can be restrictive on what is brought into the country. I was wondering if I will be able to bring natural processed yarn into the country?

If you look back a few pages the quiz on Australia was 17/08/22.

We've not yet been awarded the point, due mid September.

Oops you're right, it was Aug 17th. That's what I get for posting before I have had coffee. My bad, hanging my head in shame.

  4. I have The Delta Amex Reserve card and was sitting on 2 companion passes due to COVID. We are going to Hawaii this spring with friends and found I was able to gift 1 of the passes to them to use. We are flying to SEA using the passes and doing an overnight so we can fly out to Hawaii the next morning. We will be doing the reverse to fly home. Booked the tickets in Dec. 21 online with no problem. 2 first class tickets AZO to SEA for $770.00. Similar price for friends flying ORD to SEA. Plan on using the Sky Club passes on this trip. Just made the fee for 2 years worth it.

I still haven't figured that part out yet as our CC point counts are now different as only one of us got the "Christmas" gift PUPs email worth 2 CC points. How can my DW and I "link" our accounts as we have different email addresses? Is there some setting in our online account we need to set? We're in the US if that makes a difference as I don't see any reference to "linked" accounts in the T&C we get. Just curious.

Have you called the Captains Club and asked them? 1-800-760-0654

I just called on Monday and had my boyfriend's and my accounts linked. Took all of about 3 minutes to do.

  6. I will be getting the vaccine when I'm able but it will be awhile as I don't have any risk factors, not a front line worker, or an essential worker.

If I were to get COVID I most likely would be okay. Still I'll get the vaccine because:

       1. It will reduce my risk as slight as it may be.

        2. I want things to get back to normal like everyone.

        3. THE MOST IMPORTANT! I want to protect those at risk and those who can't get the vaccine. I feel it is my responsibility as a person to do what I can to protect my fellow humans.

I have a partner who has several high risk factors and a son who is a cancer survivor so I will do anything to protect them and anyone else at risk. To do anything less would be selfish on my part.

What courage to reserve 2 weeks ago for April 2022 the Panama Canal, this promotion should apply to all cruises from x to y date.

People are reporting on the Royal board that RCCL is going to award extra point to all cruise in 2021. Here's to hoping it is true and Celebrity will do the same.

  8. We have L&S  our spring 2021 OZ/NZ cruise, Great Barrier Reef cruise and our TP from Sydney to Hawaii cruise to 2022. It was no problem to L&S our first 2 cruises online but Celebrity showed no option for our TP🤥. Having read that some people on our Roll Call had success doing L&S for that cruise I called our TA and asked him to try with Celebrity to get us L&S. It took 4 days to get an answer but he was successful with our request.😁

We have had to make some adjustments with our cruising plans. Instead of a closed loop Australia/NZ cruise leaving from Sydney we now have a a cruise from Auckland to Sydney. Celebrity is not offering B2B2B itinerary that we had for '21 in '22 so we have had to add a 9 day South Pacific Island cruise in there too. We now have a B2B2B, then get off for 2 days to sight see in Sydney. Celebrity has a 2 day sampler cruise then and since we won't be starting in Sydney this is our chance to see it. Then we are back on for our TP to Hawaii. The '22 TP is 1 day less than '21 but to book the '22 cruise is now 2K more than we originally booked so I'll take the L&S on that one.  Oh we originally  booked the Solstice and now are on the Eclipse. We were in SV on deck 8 but now are in a SV on deck 7. We are okay with this as it means we won't have to change cabins on the first 3 cruises and we have connecting cabins with our friends who are cruising with us. We have had to take a guarantee SV for our TP but as long as we have a SV we are good.

  9. Where was your flight starting and ending? If you flight started or ended in the US and AC cancelled the flight they must provide a refund to you according to US DOT regulations. You can try filling a compliant with DOT. https://airconsumer.dot.gov/escomplaint/ConsumerForm.cfm  I have read that even when AC has been told they must provide refund by DOT AC has been refusing in some cases. Good luck and I hope you can get your refund.

Can't give a definitive answer to Galapagos questions other than you only receive double points if you pay the full single supplement. You currently have 0 points with Celebrity.

I have paid in full for both fares. Insurance is refunding my partner's fare.

  11. I am Diamond + on Royal so I know I will be Elite on Celebrity. We haven't cruise Celebrity before so I am starting with 0 points.

We had a Galapagos cruise booked with the Machu Picchu add on after for a total of 15 days. Due to recent surgery my partner will not be going but I still am. Yes, we do have insurance to cover him.

I have 2 questions. 1. Do I earn points for the land portion?  2 Will I get double points for doing this trip solo? Well 3 questions. #. If I do get points for the land portion do I get double points for that too?

  12. We are longtime cruisers on Royal (Diamond +)and are going to try Celebrity. My partner is on a low sodium diet. On Royal we have used specialty restaurants to help with the low sodium diet. We have found the cooked to order meals much easier for control rather than trying to do it in the main dinning room. On our last cruise we got the UDP and never set foot in the main dinning room or the Windjammer. Breakfast was at the Solarium Bistro and all other onboard meals (lunch and dinner) were in specialty restaurants this plan worked very well for us and Jim had no problems

Now that we are going to try Celebrity we are thinking of going Aqua Class mainly for access to Blu.  I was wonder if experienced Celebrity cruisers think that we will be able control the sodium content in our meals in Blu or would we be better off doing exclusively specialty restaurants?

Does Celebrity usually offer something like an full cruise specialty dinning package (UDP) like Royal does if Blu is not a good option for us?
