  1. Thank you so much for your reply. Reading the posts on this page, I see there are a number of beaches. My wife and I would like to spend a few hours on a beach - in the shade. Which beach do you recommend? Is ir easy to find transportation there and back to the ship? Thanks again for your help.

  2. I will be arriving in Aruba in the Odyssey of the Seas on Dec, 13,  Has anyone purchased a day pass from Casa del Mar? If so, how was it? Any surprises? Was it easy to get a taxi to go there and back to the ship? Thank you.

  3. I signed up and paid for lunch at the Chops Grill as there was a 40% discount. The sample lunch menu includes an 8-oz filet mignon as 1 of the entree choices. The "fine print" says the menu is subject to change. If the filet mignon isn't 1 of the entree choices, I will cancel the reservation, Does anyone know if the sample menu is correct? Thank you.

  4. Serenade of the Seas is docking at Ward Cove (Ketchikan) on July 12. I understand there is free buses into town and back to Ward Cove. If the line is too long or the wait is too long, are there taxis? If so, how much will it cost? Are there Uber or Lyft drivers available to take you downtown?

  5. Serenade of the Seas will be in Haines, Alaska on July 14 from 7:00am to 4:00pm. There aren't any excursions that interest me. The White Pass Rail from Skagway excursion is sold out. That excursion includes the ferry ride from Haines to Skagway. I'm considering taking the ferry and trying to get a walk-up ticket for the train. How far is the Rail station from the ferry drop-off? If I can't get on the train, is there anything to see or do near where the ferry drops me off in Skagway? How much is the ferry? At a minimum, it would give me something to do for a few hours

  6. Thanks. We decided to change the excursion time to 3:30pm. It's a 4.5 hour excursion so they will drop us off at 8:00pm. Ship departs at 9:00pm so we should be fine.

  7. On July 13, Royal Caribbean Serenade of the Seas docks in Juneau at 1:00pm. I'm on an Alaska Tales excursion that leaves at 1:30 pm form the tent on the wooden dock on the water-side of the large red Mt. Robert's Tramway Building. Will I be able to get there on time?

  8. How much are the half-day "bus" tours at the cruise port? Trying to decide if I should take the cruise excursion or find a tour when I get off the ship. First time in Bermuda and I'm interested in seeing Hamilton, etc.

  9. My wife and I will be in Bermuda for 2 days in mid-July. We'd like to go on a half-day tour the first day and go to the beach the second day. The ship tour excursions are pretty expensive. When we get off the ship, can we get a "group" tour and would it be cheaper than booking a similar excursion on the ship?

We've done that in Puerto Rico and several Caribbean islands and the off-ship tours were less expensive.

    Thanks.

  10. I just became an Elite member and would like to know what free drinks I can get at the daily cocktail event. Can I bring a glass of wine from cocktail "hour" to the main dining room for dinner? How much are the frozen drinks at the bars? I just got off a Royal Caribbean cruise and frozen drinks (i.e. Pina Colada) were $12.00. I am booked on the Silhouette this January.

  11. I am confident that if it cost $12 it would have included a souvenir glass and it makes sense that it would not be included in the package. Most of the daily drink specials do not include a souvenir glass and I am not even sure that the ones that do include the glass are referred to as a daily drink special. Perhaps on the first day at the "sail away". I did not even realize the Celebrity offers the drink with the souvenir glass, but obviously they do. I do remember them on Royal Caribbean and I have a few.

I wish it would have included a souvenir glass but it didn't. The virgin pina colada was $7.00. As an aside, Royal Caribbean now allows you to bring a bottle of wine into the dining room without a corking fee. They started that a few years ago so maybe I shouldn't compare the 2 cruise lines. By the way, the "pick 2" promotion is great, otherwise, I wouldn't pay for the drink package. Thanks for your response.

  12. Celebrity's website says the following:

"Classic Beverage Package option includes beer up to $6 per serving, spirits, cocktails, and frozen drinks up to $8 per serving, wine by the glass up to $9 per serving...."

Last month, I was on the Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas and I think the cost for a pina colada was about $12.00 plus 18% gratuity. Celebrity customer service told me that frozen drinks like pina coladas and mud-slides are included in the Classic Beverage Package. That would mean they cost less than $8. per serving.

Are the prices for these same drinks so much less on Celebrity?

  13. Anyone offthat sailing yet? Just wondered how it went toward the end of the cruise? Sounds like it sure didn't start out to well.

    Jimbo:)

I was also on this sailing. In addition to the Purell hand sanitizer stands at the entrance to the Windjammer, there are sinks for washing your hands (great idea). At the beginning of the cruise, the "washy washy" staff, asked people to use the Purell sanitizer but didn't insist that the sinks be used. Towards the end of the cruise, the entrance was roped off so you had to wash your hands before entering the Windjammer. There were about 6 sinks that had sensors so you didn't have to touch them, although you had to press the soap dispenser. I was told about 150 people became ill.

  14. Does everyone who logs into a specific roll call automatically get included in the Roll Call list? For my cruise, my name is added to the roll call list and it doesn't have much information next to it. Others have their respective cabin numbers, names, dinner seating times, etc. If the roll calls list includes everyone who logged into that roll call, then the list would potentially include people that decided not to book that specific cruise.
