  1. I am a Practice Nurse.
Please go to Travel Health pro website. This is the bible of travel health.
If you check under countries to be visited you will get all of your info there.
YF vaccine risks are much higher for the over 60s. If the country you are visiting require proof of vaccination then you will need an exemption certificate.
Countries where YF is a problem ie a risk to yourself you will need to be scrupulous with your insect avoidance measures.
    Hope this helps.

I just filled in our PLF for a departure on 11th Feb, and it seems the form has been updated. It now offers the option that 'I am arriving in the UK after 4am GMT on 11th Feb' .

Thanks but noticed this myself this morning. What a relief! Phew 😰

Still the problem when filling in the form of the Reference Number .To get that you have to have booked a 2 day LFT which you pay for but by the time of my cruise ,11-15 Feb, no longer need.New forms I'm told won't be available till later in the month

    See prev comment.

  4. I know! It is really worrying me. I tried the helpline and the response I got was if the new form is not available you will have to book a LFT to circumnavigate the problem which is ridiculous.
Why can they not issue a new form that will be effective from 11/02?
    I despair!!!

Note that the PLF needs to be completed no EARLYER than 48 hours before arrival into the UK.

(If yuou're flying into the UK the airline will/may ask to see it prior to boarding.

For example, I'm flying from  the USA on Friday, Feb. 11th, and landing at Heathrow at 0840 on Feb. 12.... I'm going to fill out  the PLF Thursday night (EST).

    Aloha,

    John

Hi John, I live in the UK and the rules for cruises of less than 19 nights require the PLF to be completed 48 hours BEFORE departure.
As the rules change on Feb 11th no longer requiring lateral flow test on return, the form on government website will be out of date. I cannot complete it as it requires evidence that I have booked a lateral flow test. I hope this makes sense?

The form will probably change in next few days, its only the 1st feb today so theres plenty of time for it to be updated by govt.  Just keep checking back.

That’s what I’m doing but I find it so stressful.
    Otherwise I’m good to go.

  7. Can anyone help. I need to complete my passenger locator form  at least 48 hours before cruise departing Feb 11th.
The form currently requires details of returning LFT booking, however no test will be necessary at this point as the rules change on Feb 11th.
Has anyone got any ideas how to get around this as I don’t want to book and pay for a test that I don’t need.
    Thanks in anticipation.

  8. Hi Wowzz, we are on Feb 11th cruise too. Decided today would be the day to print off all of my paperwork but stuck when it comes to PLF as by our return date (and departure date for that matter) we will no longer need to have booked lateral flow tests. Any indication when updated PLF will be made available? Especially as it needs to be submitted 48 hours before departure.

Couldn't wait myself to be honest so last week was a dream to be on the Regal.

Since we started cruising i've never been lucky to book a cruise that had a price drop that i was able to take advantage of. Only ever had them go up. Do enjoy your cruise when you go though.

    Thank you! x

Unfortunately up grade prices are based on the price of the cabins when you booked. It's not just Princess that do things this way p and o do to. As someone else pointed out we don't get the same terms as in the states. Ie they can swap and change as we like without losing anything.... but we get more protection than they do ie abta etc

Hi, yes I realise all of this. I’m not complaining, just extremely happy to be cruising again as my last cruise was March 2019 on Ruby.

To be fair, on any cruise,  50% of passengers will be celebrating something or other. Once you start giving someone a discount you are on a slippery slope where everyone will want a lower price because it is their birthday, wedding anniversary etc.

Yes I suppose so. Just a thought as I don’t intend to have another honeymoon 🤣

  12. It is a bit infuriating. I called Princess yesterday to ask about paying to upgrade but the cost was just too much. We sail in 21 days.
Id hoped to treat my husband to be as this will be our honeymoon. Princess know it’s our honeymoon but still don’t cut us any slack on the price. Hey ho we will still enjoy it!

I've read the same thing ie they are reviewing each ship and there has to be an agreement in place between the ship and the port. My thoughts are that the Ship was a bit hasty in saying they could get off before the port agreed to it hence they said "No".

I'm on the Regal on the 1st and our only stop is Belfast on the 3rd of Sept.

I did have tickets booked for the Titanic museum with the ship. But on hearing we "could" get off on our own i booked tickets with the museum direct. 4 tickets for the price of 1 with Princess, no brainer.....

I'm really hope this is resolved by then, either way i will report back on here what happened when we get there.

I’ve booked independent tickets for Titanic museum for my Sky Princess cruise on 28/09. I will be mightily miffed if we can’t go ashore 😡

  14. Day 67 and finally ...... drum roll.🥁 deposit and balance both arrived back onto my credit cards!
The frustration has been unbelievable. So much stress.
I really don’t think I can book another P&O cruise in the future.
I will have to consider my options.

Princess is my cruise line of choice but I realise of course they are from the same stable.

Good luck to everyone still waiting for resolution. xx

  15. I have also just received an email notifying me that my refund was processed on May 20th. Still not showing as pending on my credit card but at least some progress has been made. Fingers crossed it’s for the full amount when it arrives.

  16. Has anyone had a refund yet? I cancelled on 17/03/20 but have still not received anything. Got a cancellation notice showing 50% when I should get a full refund as my partner is over 70. 10 minutes later I received a booking confirmation for the same cruise??? I haven’t tried to contact them again as I realise they are inundated but I can’t afford to lose over £3000. Any ideas?

  17. I cancelled our May 17th cruise on 17th March, requesting a full refund as my partner is over 70.
They ‘processed’ it there and then, told me I would get a full refund.
I immediately was issued with a cancellation invoice showing only 50% followed by 10 minutes later a booking invoice for the cruise.
So now I’m in limbo waiting for my credit card to  be credited.....or not as the case may be!

  18. As for me I go to the gym twice a week after work so yes I am wearing makeup - but it doesn't drip or run or anything like that (maybe I'm not working out hard enuf and/or sweating enuf? ).....in fact when I get home and clean my face I notice that my makeup is still ON - I do use good stuff maybe that helps (e.g. Tarte amazonian clay foundation - that stuff never comes off till you decide to take it off).....so I know I look semi decent even at the gym! ....(If I went to the gym on a saturday morning no I would not have anything on my face)....

Hi Froufie, I hope you don't mind me chipping in but I'm interested in your experience of this foundation. I'm from the UK and never heard of it. I always have to wear full makeup including camouflage makeup as I have a port wine stain birthmark on my face. I can't wear sunglasses without them taking off my makeup so I thought for my upcoming cruises I will go with a sunhat instead. In the past I've braved it makeup free on holidays and cruises but this will be my first holiday with the new man in my life and I don't want to make him feel uncomfortable.

  19. :(

Well here goes - don't think Spielberg or Cameron have anything to worry about.....

There are 3 of you leaving, 3 different songs, think nostalgiaguy from your roll call will recognise one of the songs, just look for the videos of Caribbean Princess Leaving Liverpool under name H0agy, each song is listed.

Enjoy - Hopefully my recording skills will improve by the time July 8 roll call visit us

    Maureen

Hi Maureen, for some reason these videos and their music brought a lump to my throat. I really miss 'up north' :(
