List your ports and budget, I'll try to offer some suggestions. Alaska excursions are very expensive but there are some cheaper options.

Thanks for responding... We will look at doing something else

We are taking our grandson (16) and 2 granddaughters (13 and 9) on RCCL Ovation OTS on 6/16. Looking for suggestions for excursions. Hubby and Tripp would like to fish in Ketchikan, but RCCL wants over $500 each! TIA.

We have taken 2 of our teenage grandsons on cruises with Carnival and Norwegian and they had a great time on both lines. I think they Carnival best though. We haven't taken them to Alaska yet but we are in June 2023. Already booked.
We are taking our 3 grandkids on RCCL 6/16. What are you booked on?

Now I know why the cookies I attempted to bake last weekend were a failure - thanks!
Thanks also for the live updates, I'm enjoying reading along.
So I always use my great grandma's recipe for cookies with sweet (unsalted as it is !mostly known now) . she was born in 1875 so that gives you a clue as to how long I have been baking her Austrian cookies

We sail on the 19th and can't wait. Eagerly searching for any comments from those currently sailing. Has your itinerary changed?
Thanks.

Gerelmx,
Are you booked for that entire itinerary?
Hello Fellow Cruisers,
We are looking at April 2022 Eclipse for the 9 night South Pacific, followed by the 18 night Tahiti-Hawaii cruise. Problem is the 2 days in between where Celebrity offers a "2 day Sampler" of Sydney. But it's really only 1 day 2 nights and that day is a sea day!
Would we be better to disembark in Sydney for the 2 days and then reboard for the Tahiti cruise? They want an awful lot for those 2 days.

Just be sure you don't get Anna if you use SPB
-
We recently returned from 25 days in Europe, including 2 cruises. Our experience with SPB was the ONLY negative about the whole trip.
Our tour guide was Anna. She is very pretty as she repeatedly reminded us. When practically the first thing your tour guide tells you is to take a nap because it is a long bus ride, you know it is not going to be a good tour.
She was also funny and I learned a lot about her private life, but that is not what we paid almost $500 for!
We came to see the beautiful churches, palaces and museums, and to learn about the history of these places. When she did give commentary on them, it was very confusing: the Great War, the Revolution, WWII??? I never knew which one she was talking about. There was hardly any background info and she did not know left from right. Honestly, half the time she told us to look out the left window, she meant right and vice versa.
We had 9 different tour guides during our 3 week trip, and this was by far the worst. She was nice and friendly enough, but she is not a good tour guide. Our driver Vlad was great!, the lunches were good, and Wifi on the bus was a nice amenity. -
Travelling with 5 kids next month on HOTS, ages 3 - 10. What do the boys wear on formal nights? Are shorts okay for them?
Also do they offer extended (after the normal hours) kid care for a fee. Thinking the parents might like a little "quiet" time. Or maybe they have in cabin baby sitting???
Thanks

Hi Karen~
We are flying into and sailing out of Ft. Lauderdale with an overnight at Embassy Suites pre cruise. There are 11 of us. Thanks for searching.

Has anyone ever heard of "Supra" shuttle. I just booked them from airport to hotel, then to pier the next day. But I can't find any reviews on them.
Thanks.

Hi Fl-girl,
We've got a group of 11 on Harmony on 6/24. Is that your date? We're celebrating our 50th anniversary and are also looking for a tour that will interest everyone down to the age of 3 1/2. The other 2 ports will be beach days and the beaches aren't that great in PR. We've done the forts on previous visits, but haven't ventured much beyond that. The rain forest keeps coming up as a suggestion. Any tour provider recommendations?

they will not stay open. I spoke with Celebrity on Friday and asked that question and they said it is maritime law that they have to remain closed while in port.
They did say that they will have several new touring options for the evening hours, sunset cruise included. I also asked about the evening onboard entertainment and was told the cruise director is working on that!
I actually had written them per the link someone posted on this forum to let them know how unhappy we were and they called me to discuss. No reason for the change given. Just wanted to let me know they respond to customer's concerns. Whatever

NOT happy.
We are booked on this cruise for 2016 and again in 2017. 1 overnights in Aruba and one in Curacao --- as far as I can tell. It's very confusing.
But we've never been to Bonaire and were looking forward to it.
St. Thomas is our favorite, and I wouldn't have minded if they had substituted that

We just returned from a 14 night cruise on Grand Princess. We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Dania using their park and cruise package. It was about $200 for one night and 14 days parking. It included breakfast and the lot is gated. Parking at the pier runs $15 a day so you basically get the hotel and breakfast for free. They do charge $20 for the shuttle. But when you get off the ship and get your luggage they'll come get you.....took them 8 minutes.

Well here it is, a whole year after the last post, and I just binge read this entire thread. Thank you, turtles06, for the best review ever. We're doing this cruise out of Boston on 10/2. I've made lots of notes and now have a lot of follow up to do.
