  1. Got my letter today from Carnival regarding parking for the Panorama on May 4:

If you are driving to the Port of Long Beach, parking arrangements have changed, and you will now
be required to park at 124 E Shoreline Dr, Long Beach, CA 90802  (approximately 10 minutes from the cruise terminal).

Here are some additional details for you to know:

    • Please proceed directly to the cruise terminal to drop off your luggage and traveling companions.
    • At the cruise terminal, you will be provided with directions and a card to identify you as a Carnival Panorama guest for parking area entry.
    • Agents will verify your booking information and the total cost will be automatically added to your onboard Sail & Sign account®. Parking will cost US$20, per day (including embarkation and debarkation day).
    • Complimentary shuttle service will be available to take you to the terminal on embarkation day and back to the parking facility when you return to Long Beach at the end of your cruise. Accommodations will be in place for our guests with mobility limitations. The last shuttle will run 30 minutes prior to the final boarding time printed on your boarding pass.
    • Signage will be on site to direct guests to the designated parking area.
  2. They did not give me a price list.  Here is my email to Vallarta Adventures:

"Is there a price list you can send me for the extra cost activities - such as sea lion encounter, stingray encounter, power snorkel, etc.? - or a link to where I might find these?"

    Here is what they replied:

"We would suggest for you to contact the Cruise Ship agency so they may share with you the list of optional activities that will be offered that will fit in the itinerary of your time in Las Caletas."

Guess we'll know when we get there.  I'll see if I can bring a list back with me.

  3. I also emailed Vallarta Adventures to ask the same question.  Here is their reply:

"Thank you for contacting Vallarta Adventures!

Yes, at our "Las Caletas Beach Hideaway" you would be able to make purchases with credit Card or Cash, whichever would be most convenient for you."

I asked for a price list as well. If I get it, I'll post it here.

  4. While the Vista is a newer ship than the Magic, I personally would prefer an itinerary with San Juan. I think the kids would really enjoy exploring the forts (castillos).

But then again, I would love to go back to New Orleans. My first cruise was out of New Orleans on the Carnival Fantasy in 2007. I had never wanted to go on a cruise, but was bribed with a few extra days in NOLA before and after the cruise. I've been hooked ever since.

    Enjoy!

  5. Just did this last year on the Spirit.  The only thing I would add is that if you're on the Spirit, it's the only ship with Soul Play, which is a free of charge painting class/activity.  My wife really enjoyed that.  Agree with all the rest.  There is a naturalist, they have a few other activities (I specifically remember axe throwing - foam/velcro axes, not real ones - on the Lido deck).  There was a local Alaskan singer/story teller.

Having been here before, this is the day we picked for our relaxing beach day. We are not big drinkers, so the traditional day passes didn't hold value for us. So I search and found Las Palapas. Here you can rent the two lounger set-up for the day for a food and beverage minimum of 1,000 pesos or about $54. We had 2 pina coladas, 2 cokes, one big bottle of water, a club sandwich with the best fries ever, a shrimp taco, and a octopus taco. This barely met our minimum. There is parasailing right off to the side. Watching that was great entertainment. Only two sailors got close to landing on our umbrella.

My wife and I had our 1st anniversary dinner on the beach at La Palapa back in 2006.  We love PV too and I can't wait to go back.  Loving your review.

  7. One thing I didn't see mentioned was "Soul Play."  Spirit is the only ship this activity is on.  It's a painting class/venue on Deck 3, Aft.  They have classes to paint specific things and also "free paint" classes where you can paint what you want.  My wife really enjoyed it.

Sign up is on the Hub App, but sign up early as they fill up quick.  There are usually a few "no-shows," and they let people in on a first come basis, depending on how many seats are available.

yes it is, it's going take several months before the new menus will be available fleet wide.  To dismiss the original poster as you did is very rude.  oh i didn't see your screen name. Now your response makes perfect sense.

Um, I am the original poster.  But thanks for having my back 🤣

I actually posted these menus a few days before they rolled out the new menu on the Dream.  I was a little embarrassed.  And then embarrassed myself further by misreading CookieShip's post.
