  1. Do it yourself and just take a taxi as soon as you get off.  You will be over at Atlantis long before the ship tour arrives.  Usually no waiting to get your tickets and you are in the water park way before the crowd from the tour gets there.  Also lines for day lockers for your belongings are long once there is a crowd.  Also, you can leave when you want and again don't have to wait for a crowd and full bus, etc. when you are ready to return to the ship.  Much easier on your own.

  2. If you have used these certificates in the past and have a previous relationship sailing with CAS - you don't even usually need to have a certificate to make a CAS reservation and get a deal. Just call them and see what they are willing to offer you. In most cases, you can get a comp or a good discount based on your prior level of play without a certificate from a land based casino.

  3. Yes, very close. There are taxi's and shuttles right outside the terminal that will take you there. Also, you can take any shuttle going to Ron Jon's which has a nice shopping area and walk to the beach area directly behind it. There are restaurants and places for drinks right along the beach and also public restrooms to change and shower off after the beach. Then take either a shuttle or taxi back right from there back to the ship.

  4. How do you get these offers????????????????

We get them from being a Total Rewards member at Caesar's owned properties (Harrah's, Caesars, Bally's, Rio, etc.). They are usually offered to members who are Seven Star or Diamond. While on the cruise, you do not use your "Total Rewards" card, you are given a players card by Casino At Sea to use, which is in your room when you check in, which also gives you the free drink card for the adults in the room.

  5. Definitely do it on your own and not through the ship. Just grab a taxi and its very inexpensive and quick. If you are worried about pre-purchasing your tickets, you don't need to do it in advance. We never pre-purchase in case of any port cancellation or change and just go to the ticket counter and purchase that day. We are always in the park, have already gotten our locker and chairs, etc. and have usually been on a ride already way before the NCL tour even arrives at the park. Its much quicker to do on your own.

  6. Have always purchased them directly at Atlantis (not a ship excursion). Very easy to just get a taxi when you get off and very inexpensive. You are also then over at Atlantis way before the ships excursion people get there. We have already gotten our locker and taken several slide rides before others even arrive. Much easier and better to do it this way in my opinion, and cheaper.

  7. Someone posted "there is no gate admission", but not sure what they meant by that. You can buy your day admission directly at the desk at Atlantis. We have always done this rather than paying for an excursion. If for some reason you don't stop in Nassau (weather or whatever), you don't have to worry about getting a refund. Additionally, by the time you wait for the excursion bus to load, etc. - we have always been already over at Atlantis by taking a private taxi van. We have bought our tickets, gotten our locker and have already been on rides before the ship excursion even gets there. We have met others who were on the ships excursion several times and were always at the park at least an hour before they even arrived.

  8. As soon as they make the decision.

I really don't think it's "as soon as they make the decision".....When we were diverted due to a hurricane in Bermuda (that was know well in advance of leaving), we were not given the new itinerary until we were actually inside the terminal to check in. Instead of Bermuda, we diverted to Florida and Nassau route. The new itinerary was handed to us as we got to the check-in line.

  9. Haven't sailed on Carnival in many years - so don't know how their suite check in works. If we are sailing in a suite, but daughter and grandkids are sailing in a regular balcony room, can they check in with us in the suite check in area? Sailing on the Miracle out of Long Beach if that matters. Thanks

  10. If they want to interact with sea life, they might also like the stingray excursion in GSC. My grandkids did it last year and loved it. You go into the water and get to see and interact with the stingrays and starfish, etc. You can do it yourself also but if you don't want to, you can accompany them to the area and watch and take pictures of them (without paying the excursion cost for yourself).

In PC - just head to the beach area in Cocoa Beach and there are plenty of free beach areas where you just pay a minimal fee to rent a beach chair or umbrella for the day if you want them.

In Nassau, we usually do the water park in Atlantis which the kids love. I do think their prices for the dolphin encounters are a little pricey. We never pay for the ship excursion to Atlantis. We just get a taxi and head over and are always there well before the excursion people get there.

  11. Just an FYI - it is a bit of a walk - not too far, but just saying it in case anyone has issues walking any distance. As others have said, you meet at the excursion desk (which is right by where you get off the tender boats). From there, you will get your tickets and they will walk you as a group over to the area where you get on the boat to go to the stingray area. Short boat ride over and then you are there. Also, if you have someone not doing the actual stingray experience, you are allowed to go to that point where the boat docks and wait on the dock area while the others are in the water. You can take pics if you like. I got some great pics of the kids holding huge starfish right in the water at the dock area before they did the stingrays. Have fun!

  12. I normally sail NCL and RCCL. I have not sailed Carnival since the 80's but since I am in So. Cal, am looking at a 4 day Baja cruise for a quick getaway. Can anyone tell me if there is any difference between the Inspiration or Imagination as they both go on the same route? Would be sailing in a Suite if that makes any difference. Thank you.

  13. I would pick 11012.

We have been in 11512 (same suite on the other side of the hallway/ship) now 2 different trips and specifically booked that suite for the great location. Its so convenient to be next to the stairs and elevators and we never heard noise from above or from the hallways. Its an awesome location.

  14. We have not done it in Mazatlán, but have done it in Cabo. It was an amazing experience and my husband caught a 125 lb. marlin and we caught lots of other fish during the day. The only caution I would offer is if it is not a ship sponsored excursion - something went out on out boat motor during the afternoon and they had to radio and have another one of their boats come out and tow us back to port. We didn't have to be back by a specific time as we were staying in Cabo so it was not a problem, but if we did, it would have been a problem as we were out for several hours longer than we were supposed to be. Have fun it you do it - its a great experience!

  15. I think I have seen at least 3-4 offers from the various Caesars properties that we frequent in either Las Vegas or So. Cal. in the last 6 months or so. If you are looking for more comp ones that you are receiving from Caesars - honestly I have found that just calling the Casino at Sea people gets me relatively the same offer I would receive in a comp certificate. We always upgrade our room to a suite and have never had a problem just asking for that rather than waiting for a certificate. They always work it so that we pay for the difference from a standard balcony room to a suite which is actually better that a lot of the Caesars comps which are only inside or ocean view rooms.

  16. Not really understanding the comment about "feeling the need to show off"....never possibly considered wearing my wedding ring as "showing off". I have always worn my ring on every cruise and vacation I have been on for the last 25 years. Not "showing off" or bragging at all, but its 5 carats and I've never felt the need or desire to leave it home and I've never felt unsafe wearing it. If you are leaving the ship and uncomfortable wearing it that day for whatever reason, put it in the safe for the day. It will be there when you return. Never understood the people who say they wear "fake" rings and leave the real thing at home.

  17. I do this on any trip including cruises - I use an extra large size "space bag". Not the kind you need to do with a vacuum but the kind that you "roll" the air out of. It compacts the clothes when they go back into the suitcase until we either get home or get to a laundry and also no odor is released when the back is ziplocked. On a cruise, each day the laundry gets put into the bag and then I just zip it up and roll it to take it home.
