  1. There are many shops that sell prom dresses at Sawgrass. The place is massive! I'm sorry I can't suggest any because I'm long past the point where my children need them however I've seen them while shopping. Prices are generally very similar to what I'd find at home but I live in Canada. YMMV.

  2. I put a business card in my luggage tag and include my personal cell phone number. My office knows my itinerary if they are called but I put a detailed copy inside each piece of luggage. TSA always searches my bags and have never broken a TSA lock. That's the whole idea behind them, thay have master keys. If they've been searched, there is a form letter left so I know it was them.

  3. I've done it before. We had no problems along the way and if there had been any, it would have been very stressful. Ideally, I prefer to have a couple of days before where I can adapt to the time change but if you have no other choice, it's something to think about. I'd certainly try to get a non-stop flight if possible. Lots of people do it.

  4. Reduction can be covered by insurance if you have problems with back or shoulder pain, rashes beneath your breasts, postural changes etc. A reduction has the benefit of a lift. If you get your ducks in a row and your first appointment with the doctor contains your complaint about the mentioned malladies, you could be on your way to an insurance covered surgery. If you go to a plastic surgeon first and complain that you don't like the way you look, it will be considered cosmetic and not be covered. :)

PS I have never heard anyone regret a reduction.

I live in Canada so coverage was no problem. :D:D:D I did have to pay for some extra cosmetic work that was done at the same time.

  5. So tempted; I'm 68, used to wear (I thought) a 34B and the bust has just gradually gotten bigger (I don't want bigger--I've never been fond of the look of big breasts) and lower. I'm now wearing a 36 (should be a 34, probably) D and I bet if I could find DD or DDD they'd fit better.

I know I should go to specialty bra stores, but we live in the boonies and I don't like ordering clothes from the internet--it never works out for me. Returns are a pain.

I don't understand why the increase in bust size as I have not gained all that much weight since high school--maybe 20 lbs. (currently 130). It can't all be breast tissue, at least according to my stomach!

Did you get a reduction at all with the lift?

You might want to consider talking to a good plastic surgeon to talk about the pros and cons. I'm also over 60 and have had a lot of surgeries over the years, none cosmetic before. I was surprized how easy it was.

  6. I find that most waterproof mascaras smudge and I wind up with racoon eyes. It's probably due to my moisturizer. So for everyday use, I switched to non-waterproof and have had no problem. For the times when I have to use waterproof, I always use Blinc. Someone on these boards told me about it and it's fantastic. You can get it at Sephora.

  7. I've been seriously thinking about breast lift surgery, but probably won't do it because of the recovery part.

I had it done 4 years ago and it was a very easy surgery. In and out the same day. Other than some swelling that took a while to subside, it was not a big deal. I could have gone back to work by the third day but chose to stay off for a week. I didn't really need it though. There were some side effects (that I was warned about) but for me the benefits far outweighed the negatives.

  8. My god I could of written this!!! LOl, seriously .. I have dark circles due to my wonderful italian heritage, (got them from my noni, ) I have tried so many different things, bobbi brown(although I like the setting powder), clinique, mary kay, avon, benefit, bare minerals, I really could go on. Either too light too dark , settles in and makes you look old! Best thing I've tried so far is "bye bye under eye" by it cosmetics, you really need only a dot, I bough mine on ebay for $10 , tiny little tube but it lasts and its waterproof...

You might want to try using a primer first. It keeps concealer and foundation from settling into creases. I just discovered one by Tarte - wonderful but expensive stuff! :D

  9. Almost every resort golf course I have been to in Hawaii, Florida, California and Arizona have similar dress codes, so that's where I picked up on that type of dress…

I'd love to say for a man "look at the guys on the PGA Tour on TV - dress like them", but the young guys on Tour are really stretching the envelope on taste, especially if you are a middle-age man :)

As you can tell from my screenname, I play a lot of golf both north of the border and in the US. There was a time when all golf courses had dress codes. Now it's usually only private courses who have and enforce them. Most public, municipal and semi-private courses are almost anything goes - almost. Jeans and inappropriate wear are still not permitted. I personally don't have an issue with the pros changing things up a bit. They're still tastefull. Now women can wear sleeveless and non-collared golf shirts and the men can wear mock turtle-neck shirts.

  10. Try using a corrector. I know you said you don't wear makeup, but a salmon/peach colored corrector will help counteract the green/blue tint of under eye circles and help conceal them. Bobbi Brown sells a couple great correctors. Also if you use a corrector or concealer, make sure you set it with a little bit of powder. It can be a translucent powder with no color - the powder will help the cream corrector last longer.

    Hope this helps! :)

Bobbi Brown's comes with a powder to set the corrector/concealer.

  11. Before we went on a land trip to Spain a couple of years ago, I knew I wanted the most comfortable shoe I could find. Hopefully they would be somewhat stylish but comfort was an absolute must.

I bought a pair of Reiker sandals similar to the ones below. Mine were a metalic pewter colour with just enough of a heel height to make them really comfortable for all day wear. There was an added bonus that I didn't realize until we were overseas. All of the strap closings were velcro. As my feet swelled during the day, I could adjust the snugness in the blink of an eye. The best part was they needed absolutely no breaking in. I basically hit the ground running. They were expensive but well worth the cost.

  12. I can't wear Bare Minerals because it has talc in it & it makes my skin breakout in a rash & irritates it. Try Jane Iredale (it is a mineral makeup line); it's the only makeup I can use due to my sensitive/highly reactive/rosacea skin.

Funny you should say that. I also have a fairly severe case of rosacea and Bare Minerals is one of the few foundations I can wear. Tarte also makes one. It's more costly and I don't care for it as much. I'm using it now because the store was out of the colour of BM that I needed but as soon as this one is finished, it's back to BM for me.

  13. You've received lots of good information on what to pack but you should also take how you pack into consideration. For example, your handbag may have to be put into your carry on. And there are items you will definately need to have access to in the airport, such as your passport, credit cards, cash, travel documents. I've learned the hard way to make sure they are easily accessible and not down in the bottom of the bag.

  14. That's a personal decision every woman has to make for herself based on her comfort level. I have some very expensive jewellery pieces that my DH has given me over the years and I wear them almost everywhere. Although on a recent land trip to Spain, I chose to leave them all at home and opted for my grandmother's plan gold wedding band. You should do what you feel comfortable with.

  15. I also have the requisite LBD in cocktail and floor-lengths. But I'm done with black and refuse to buy any more of it. Let's face it, how many black dresses does one woman need??

The reason so many wear it, IMO is that it's a basic wardrobe builder and you don't have to think about it too much. Most things go with black. You can do the same thing with several other colours such as navy or a rich brown or even white. What I did was change my mindset. Now my basic is red and I just work around that.

  16. Has anyone found something to get rid of brown age spots on face??

No one has said what blush they use and if it looks natural.

Has anyone tried the foundations that are clear and change color to skin tone..Almay?

Can someone post some great looking natural lipstick colors that last??

Has anyone had great success with teeth whiteners??

Thanks for help in advance. S

Although I can't answer all of your questions, there are a couple that I can.

I use Bare Escentials loose powder blushes and they are fantastic FOR ME. I'll no longer waste my time with anything else.

As for teeth whiteners, I spent over $300 to have my teeth whitened at the dentist office. I'd heard about Crest Whitestrips and thought there was no way they could be as good. I was wrong. They worked better and faster. Go figure.
