The cabana was great.  There were sodas, waters, bags of chips and that kind of thing.  You do have a private waitstaff and they are fantastic and very attentive.  The upstairs is air conditioned plus had two loungers under umbrellas and a tv.  Downstairs the hammock was comfy but we did not use it as much because it was such a gorgeous day.  They set up lounge chairs for us right in front of our cabana and brought over an umbrella. We had 4 rafts and 4 pool noodles. There were no wrist bands but the area is roped off from the other part of the pool deck area.  The bathrooms are close by.  Technically the cabana is set up for 4 snack and drink wise but there were 8 of us and they allowed us all to be together.  You will not regret it.

    How much are the cabanas

  2. I haven’t read all the replies but I have read most. And sadly no one considered the REAL issue why the port was cancelled. Due to someone’s life being in jeopardy, a MAJOR medical emergency, the Magic had to make a stop. That’s what delayed everything. Carnival isn’t to blame! And you can’t blame the ill patient either. For God sakes, this stuff happens. Would you all be saying these things if a child had fallen ill or if you knew the patient?

I was on the Magic this past week. Carnival did everything possible to not only assist this family but then had to accommodate all of us that were “inconvenienced”. Geez, take a step back and do some reflecting. You’re still on vacation while others are having to reschedule flights, shuttles, pet sitters, and one family is now having to fly out of Cozumel with their loved one at their expense.

  3. My sister and her family just got off the Magic. It docked around noon and they just left the port 5-minutes ago, headed to the airport on shuttle. Yes...there was a medical emergency after the left Costa Maya. The ship turned around and headed back to Cozumel. The ship was 7-hrs late getting back to Port Canaveral. During the night, the ship developed propulsion issues. The cruise that leaves this evening has dropped its stop in St. Thomas and many passengers are very unhappy. My sister said that the passengers were so frustrated on her cruise that tempers flared and few fights broke out. She and her family missed their flight home but I was able to get them on another flight to Detroit.

Fights broke out? Oh God. How selfish. For crying out loud someone’s life was in jeopardy and people are worried about their flights. I didn’t see any fights.

It was 50% chance of rain today on Cozumel. It drizzled for maybe 10 mins and this is my balcony view right now.

Thank you for taking the time to answer me from the ship. I appreciate that!

  5. Anybody out in the Western area able to give some feedback on what it looks like right now? We’re leaving on the 9th on the Magic and doesn’t appear that things will let up by then. I want to get an idea if we should book excursions or not. Having small children, I don’t know if it will be worth the hassle or a waste of money if it’s all thunderstorms! TIA!

  6. Wow, I am just blown away by all these photos! I need to know what cameras you all are using.

I really love the moon photo that is shining down and the group photo on the balcony, that is super cool.

I am noticing something that some of the most beautiful photos are coming from Half Moon Cay. Boy oh Boy, I can't wait to get there!!
