Thank you for the live from the Island Princess, I’m enjoying your daily updates.  Can you please confirm whether or not there’s some sort of International Cafe?    I’ve read posts that says there’s a small one (forget where) but others say no.  If not, where do you get Lattes, other speciality coffees,  etc and the extra good almond croissants?

Just got off the Island. On deck 5 at the Good Spirits bar they had one display case in the morning with a few choices of croissants and then changed over to a few sandwich choices at lunch. Never looked to see if anything out in the evening. There is also a coffee bar at that location. I believe it opened 6am. Up in the Horizon Court there is a specialty coffee bar all the way in front also a huge choice of breakfast croissants and muffins.

  2. Just found out our cruise is disembarking in Manhattan instead of Brooklyn on June 4th. My husband uses wheelchair assist and we will use a porter for our luggage to get through security and out to exit the terminal. In Brooklyn it was easy to use a cab or car service to LGA. Are there cabs easily available at this location? I don't mind booking Uber but never know exactly what time to schedule pickup depending how long it takes to disembark. Thank you for any help!

Asked for a wine list in MDR on Grand Princess quite recently. They brought me a list of generic wines that "fit" the Plus package. No names, no vintners, just varietal names.

We were on the Caribbean Princess in May and the Discovery in December. We always get the Plus package. We received a wine list when asked in the Specialty restaurants and in whichever main dining room we asked and received a huge notebook wine list. On the Discovery a sommelier came every night to help suggest something. So yes there are complete wine lists in the MDR.

  4. In 2018 or 2019 we did a side by side. Off the Crown and over to the Regal. We asked at Guest Services and were told there is often a shuttle (golf cart) that will pick you up and transfer to the other ship. They told us to ask the port crew once we picked up our luggage and were headed out to the parking lot. We were directed where to wait and were picked up along with another couple and luggage and delivered right to baggage drop off at the other ship. Worked perfect. Ask once on board toward the end of your first cruise. We were prepared to take a cab but didn't need to.

  5. The days of formal wear are definitely gone. I am OK with that. But I was raised and believe to this day that ball caps or any hats do not belong indoors and absolutely not at the dinner table. I know lots of Texans believe it's OK to wear your Stetson. No problem...until you enter a dining room. It's a matter of respect.

  6. We are looking at flying Southwest into LGB instead of LAX in December roundtrip. I always request wheel chair service for my DH. He can walk just not long distances. I see LGB uses the outdoor ramps instead of inside jetways. Any experience with not being able to have help disembarking the plane? Appreciate any feedback.  Prices are better at LGB and certainly has to be less congested than LAX. Thank you!

  7. We have a 12:10 flight out of LGA and are booking car service for transport to the airport. Can we ask at the Passenger Service desk for a specific (approximate) time to disembark? Also it has been several years since we cruised out of Red Hook is it a far walk to meet your driver? Thank you!

  8. Slightly off subject but I cannot remember since it's been a few years since we are on board Queen Mary. Is there a shelf or some type of place to set your own travel size shampoo, conditioner and razor in the shower? Otherwise I bring a small caddy that self sticks to the wall. Thank you in advance for your help!

  9. Yes. Stop by Passengers Service Deck a day or so before disembarkation. They will tell you where to meet that morning. One of the crew will help you off the ship and then someone shoreside will continue helping you through luggage pickup, customs, etc if needed. Works well for my husband who can't stand or walk long distances.

Follow the money perhaps.  Vines was by my observations, pretty deserted all day long with some evening usage.  Perhaps Princess thinks Salty Dog will generate more revenue and buzz in the Piazza.  Vinophiles will still find their fix.  I like wine a lot but did not visit Vines much.

I have to completely disagree. Every cruise we are on Vines is so busy from early afternoon until just past dinner time you can't find a place to sit. We love Vines and visit every night predinner. I am very unhappy there is no Vines on the newest ships. I would love to know where Princess will encourage fine wines in Riedel glasses.I have no desire to sit in a beer pub/hamburger joint every night before dinner.

  11. We have cruised for countless Thanksgivings. There is always a special meal in the Dining Room.  Some are better meals than others but the ship is always decorated with special displays in the Piazza, the Dining Room and the Buffet.  I am always Thankful to be cruising!

  12. My husband and I just booked a B2B2B for Spring 2022 on Discovery Princess.  Looking over their deck plans I see no Vines Wine Bar but a Gastro Pub instead. Seriously? Beer over wine? Very disappointed! Yes I understand micro breweries and specialty beers are the in thing but I have yet to cruise on any Princess ship where Vines isn't always busy! They could even combine the two and come up with a new bar name. Gastro Pub is going to sell pub food and beer. No thanks!
