  1. Hi all! I'm new to cruising RCCL, having done just one 14 night cruise in the Med on Indy this summer. We ABSOLUTELY loved the nighttime entertainment in the Dog & Badger Pub located in the Promenade each night! We went almost EVERY night and it was an absolute blast. Definitely a great date night, every night! I did a search to see if there is something similar on Allure but I'm coming up empty. Is there a Pub on Allure? :beer-toast::beer-mug:

  2. Alibaba.com

similar to ebay, but products are from china and usually ship within 15-25 days. I have ordered my dog winter jackets, cheap jewellery, laptop cases, make up brushes (super cheap!) 90% was amazing. The site has got better since I began using it, now it offers reviews with pictures. I am actually buying packing cubes, and laundry mesh bags from there. Will update when I buy!

I bought some from AliExpress, too...they're great! No complaints! 👍

  3. They may do "exactly the same thing" as a well-made eBag or Eagle Creek cube, but how long do they hold up? I'd rather pay more for a better product that will last for years and years of use. I still have some Eagle Creek cubes that I bought back in 2000 and they are still as good as the day I bought them.

For ziploc/pillow/duvet bags - they don't breathe. Smells accumulate. If you are someplace tropical, they will sweat inside.

They're totally fine! I've used them on about 10 trips so far and they are great! Very comparable to the better brands and I paid pennies on the dollar compared to the "name brands"!

  4. You would be very brave to attempt to visit Stonehenge on sailing day.

Check out time at most hotels in Southampton is 12 noon, enabling immediate embarkation.

So what do you do with your luggage if you are at Stonehenge on embarkation morning?

I've decided we wouldn't be going to Stonehenge on sailing day. We arrive in Heathrow on Friday, and our cruise is sailing away from Southampton on Saturday. We have a hotel booked for the night in Southampton. So we have the whole day to play! I'd rather do it that day, than risk running late on sailaway day.

  5. Hello! I have done a search but only found a couple of threads that were useful.

I am cruising on the Independence of the Seas on Saturday 7/29/17, and flying into Heathrow the morning of Friday 7/28/17. We need transportation to Novotel in Southampton, where we are staying the night before our cruise. On the way, I'd like to see Stonehenge.

What is the best way to do this? I contacted one company and they wanted 299 pounds and that DID NOT include admission to Stonehenge. I contacted another company and they said 79 pounds, plus 50 pounds to stop at Stonehenge. It doesn't include admission either.

The prices are so far off, I really don't know which is the best company to use! Can anyone who has done this, offer advice? I don't need to spend the day at Stonehenge...just a little while to tour the site.

    Thanks in advance! :)

  6. I haven't sailed on A them yet, but I've been on the NCL Gem and NCL Breakaway. I absolutely LOVE sailing out of NY! We usually do it in the summer, but have sailed in February and by Day 2, we were out in the pool with gorgeous weather. I would HIGHLY recommend the Breakaway vs the Gen, simply because newer larger ship = more to do...for everyone! I love BA so much, I'm sailing on her again in 11 days for the 5th time.

So my picks would be Anthem or Breakaway.

    Happy Planning!!

  7. How did you stay in contact with your partner while sailing?

I'm guessing texts won't work at sea.

I noticed that NCL has an on-board app for communication - anyone use this?

Seems like most cruisers find walkie-talkies totally annoying... and I feel like they'd be frustrating/spotty to use anyway.

I've used the NCL iConcierge App a bunch of times on the Breakaway. It's great! There is a texting and calling feature available that is $9.95 per device. Best money I spent, because I know where my kids are at all times.

  8. I found the dining rooms MUCH better than the buffet when eating with kids! The buffet is loud and chaotic. The MDR is much quieter. I started cruising with my kids when my daughter was 2 1/2 and my son was 6 (they are 11 1/2 and 15 now). If they started acting up in the MDR, I got up and walked out with them until they calmed down. MDR wins over buffet. IMHO.

    GOOD LUCK!
