Hi all! just a few questions:

 

1. If we do the AI, is that a buffet or order off the menu?

Either or

 

2. The beach: sandy or rocky bottom, will we need beach shoes?

Sandy, I like shoes, family never wore them

3. Entry of beach: is it a sudden drop off or gentle decline

4. Are the inflatables in very deep water? I have one kid who is not so great a swimmer.

Not sure

5. Do they provide life jackets?

I know they have jackets for snorkeling, not sure otherwise.

6. If my son wants to order more than one entree is that okay? Hes 6 ft 1, an athletic and very fit... consumes lots and lots of food.

7. How much do you tip your servers? are there others who i should expect to tip as well?

Always had wonderful service... I tip at least $20. That is up to you. I've given the bartenders small tips when I am at the swim up bar

Have been to Sanchos twice...4 ships, and 6 ships...Have not encountered a problem with service at all. Will be returning in there in June

Love it there!!

I am a smoker, and always get a balcony cabin on Lido. I do not smoke anywhere inside...Whether it be casino, club, etc... I suggest that smoking be allowed on one side of the ship/balconies.

Another vote for Sanchos! Been there twice and service, food, drink and fun were all top notch. Going again in June. Paradise 2nd (more crowded and costly)

My daughter received a letter in the mail from Carnival stating she had been awarded a free cruise. :)

Can't compare, but can say that Stingray Sailing was awesome!! So friendly. Mario was at the pier waiting on us. After the stingrays, we went to a reef and he swam with us, taking us through the reef...AWESOME and booking again for May

Lido deck is the way to go!! So convenient...

We had balcony 9275 AND 77 with adjoining balconys and the steward opened the seperator on the balcony so we could be with our daughters..

Be aware though that those two rooms, especially 75 had a constant drip of condensation from the air conditioners just above us...We had to move our chairs so it wouldnt drip on us while out there...

If you notice the outside of the ship just above Lido, a portion of the ship is red....that equals condensation...

Still loved the room though

We were fortunate enough to have Lazaro in 08 and would like to hire him again....Does anyone have his contact information?

Was with Lazaro on 4/22....WONDERFUL...

He speaks great english. I had planned out what I wanted to see, and he mapped it out well for us, even adding a couple of others to the list....

We toured the city some before heading to the east side....

Went to ElMirador, Coconuts, Punta Sur, and several other places, stopping for pictures and drinks along the way....Staying as long as we wanted in each place....

I WILL book with him or Gerry again....

He loves to talk about the island and is so informative.....We had a great time with Lazaro.....

I'm sure its here somewhere, but overlooking I guess.....

What is Gerry's fees? Is it based on pp and hour?

I know I have to contact and reserve but do I just wait until we are there to tell him where I want to go?
