  1. We cruised on the independence last March and there was not a quest show. I was shocked! This is probably our 15th cruise and have always gone to the quest especially since the kids are now older. We cruise every year for spring break...the kids are now 21 23 and 25 and have been going to it with the friends they bring along since they have been of age and love it and were so disappointed when it was not on this past years agenda!!! We were on the same sailing the previous year and they had it....not sure what happened this past year. And we are actually scheduled for the Indy this next year too....hope we get to do the quest again!!!!!missed that fun!!

  2. Kids to me...but actually young adults....21-25! They will be glad to hear there is a DJ up there.....hope their favorite bartender moved up there with the DJ! The same guy has been there in the club the past two years and they told him they would be back! :D He recognized all of us from the previous year!

  3. We have sailed on the Indy the past 2 years for spring break and recently booked it again for next year. We are looking forward to seeing all,of the changes with the refurb but hoping we don't notice it being overly crowded every where on board. I know the kids were disappointed when they heard that the labyrinth night club was no longer on board because that was where they hung out every night. They are wondering where they will be hanging out now late night on the ship.

  4. Glad to hear there is a DJ booth in the Viking lounge....I will def let the kids know ....I'm sure they would have found it anyways! :D We were on another ship....I am thinking possibly the Brillance??? That we partied every night in the Viking lounge .....I remember sitting at the bar and it actually rotated! It was crazy! Especially after a few drinks! ;p There was another ship we were on that the elevator went right up into the middle of the Viking lounge and it was always a party up there every night...but can't remember that ship....maybe Navigator??

  5. I don't really remember kids sitting around the Viking lounge...but it was just never very crowded even late night. I am just wondering where the "DJ" is going to be now who was previously in the Labyrinth. We have been on the Indy the past two years and it was even the same people at the bar in that club in the evening....just wondering where we are going to go to find them!!!!! :D:D I'm sure we will find them somewhere !!!

  6. i see where they changed the Labyrinth dance club to Izumi. That sounds great and can't wait to try it but does anyone know where you can go now late night to dance on board?? We cruise with a bunch of kids aged 21 -25 who loved hanging out there every night ..... now they are wondering where they are going to be going to go dancing late each night??!! :D Has anyone been on the Indy since it has been refurbished and has any ideas??

  7. We have never cruised carnival before and was looking to find a cruise in September. Was looking for either a 4 or 5 night ....and looking at either the Valor out of port canaveral or the Triumph out of Orleans?? Does anyone have any suggestions or input for me? Would really appreciate any info!! Thanks!!

  8. We are not picky eaters .......ate at the WJ for breakfast each morning. My husband and I and the 6 teenage boys who went with us never had any trouble finding plenty of good eats! Loved the made to order omelets, grits, oatmeal, bran muffins were great! Boys loved the waffles with fruit toppings and they ate plenty of bacon! For lunch boys never were hungry eating in th WJ....the hubby and I took advantage of the "cookouts" out by the pool!

As for dinner we always ate in the main dining area.....we had a great experience and our waiters took great care of us. The first night the tiger shrimp was on the menu.....the DH ate 5 orders of it! The boys all had their share of it also!

  9. We just returned from a trip on the Liberty......this year we sailed with our two boys and 4 of their friends. One of the friends was 17.....the rest were 18 or over. My TA told me I would need a letter for the 17 year old which I got. No one ever asked me to see it as did no one ever ask to see any letters last year or the year before when we had 3 boys each year under 18 who had letters. I will say it is better to be safe than sorry tho!

There is a letter on RCCL website that you can print out and just fill in the blanks with the actual info you need to put in such a letter.

  10. Karen.......so sorry you were sick for most of the trip. I did keep looking for you on board but it sure would have been easier if I knew what you looked like!! 😄. Was trying to find someone with maybe a Patriots shirt or Boston ??'!!

I will say I was surprised at how smooth the boarding and disembarking process went for us..."having eight of us can be a little confusing but it went great. We arrived about 11 and were on the ship in 30 minutes! We carried our own luggage off....and were in the car heading home before 9. No problems at all.

As far as the WJ ....the 6 boys with us never had a problem finding something they liked to eat. I personally only ate breakfast there ....thought it was fine. I usually went to the "made to order" egg station and got an omelet which was always very good! And lots of fruit and grits....both very good too! I got several sandwiches and desserts from cafe promenade or sorrentos .....both very good. Loved the cheesecake on a stick! My favorite! For dinner we ate in the main dining room every nights......and had a great experience there...waiters were excellent and our whole party always found plenty of things they loved to eat! Either we are not picky eaters or just lucked out on what we got to eat!

We were on deck 8......not actually on the hump but right next to it. Never had any problems with noise on the balcony.....and my husband is a light sleeper. We actually slept with our balcony door open every night! It was great!

We went to just about all of the shows.....we thought they were all very good. Saw the welcome show. Air show, comedy, love and marriage, and quest. Did not go to Saturday night fever because saw it last time we were on Liberty but enjoyed it too!

Thanks for the great pics Karen......just makes me wish I was back on her or on any ship for that matter! You are lucky you have more cruises scheduled.

  11. Does anyone know how much it is per day to park at the port? Was considering this instead of parking at the hotel and getting a ride to the port. When we return would like to get right on the road instead of waiting for a ride back to the hotel. Thanks for any input !
