We booked through EZ air for our June 1st cruise and have the non-stop ATL- Anchorage  but one stop on the way back Vancouver to ATL at $583.   If you have the non-stop both ways for $560 that's not bad.   Just keep watching and hope the price drops.   I haven't seen anything close to what we've got, most days it over $700 pp.   Not that I'm giving up hope that the price will drop  :classic_biggrin:.  It's still a long way out....

\We booked non stop both ways Atlanta to Seattle then Vancouver to Atlanta EZ Air for $539. I plan to keep looking at it in hopes that it might come down. I'm also hoping that Delta might add more non stop flights to Atlanta from Vancouver. As it is now, our flight doesn't leave until 11:10 pm😂

That’s not a bad price. The downside can be if they don’t allow you to choose your flight times, you may wind up with bad schedules.

They have several flights to choose from. Our only problem is the return flight, there is only one nonstop to Atlanta from Vancouver and its at 11:10 pm😂  the friend I travel is has mobility issues so its just easier to book non stop.

My cruise in Alaska is a year away, and I cannot yet get prices on airfare, but I will be able to in a few weeks. Does anyone have any insight into the timing to get best ticket prices (for me from Atlanta to Vancouver and return from Anchorage)? Based on your experience, what would be a good price range from Atlanta? Any other thoughts or experiences are welcome.

Were are in the process of booking our flights now using Princess EZ Air,

our cruise is September 2019. Princess is quoting $560 flying non stop ATL to Seattle and nonstop Vancouver to ATL

  4. Wondering about the condition of the Caribbean Princess after the recent dry dock. I'm not talking about the technical issue with the reduced speed. I'm asking about the vacuum system past issues with flushing of toilets and possible ac problems

    Anyone care to comment

We were on the Caribbean Princess for the Jan 27 to Feb 6 Panama Canal sailing. From the day we boarded we had issues with the toilet. It took 6 calls to Passenger services before they finally fixed it. When I called the 4th time, the passenger service rep starts to give me a lecture that the system was vacuum based, I just interrupted to say that it wasn't working properly when we boarded. I wanted to say, I'm an experienced Princess cruiser and I'm well aware of how the system works, but I didn't!!! 6 x times on a 10 day cruise is too many times to have call about a toilet!!!. We were on deck 14, friends of ours on deck 8 said people were having issues there as well.

  5. Well it may look like Princess may have done away with Happy Hour.

It was on the Regal and the Crown last week. But as reported by A Pisces on my live from thread, it's not on the Crown this week. My girlfriend is on the Regal again this week on her 2nd leg of her b2b and she just Facebook messaged me that it's not on the Regal this week.

Does anyone on any other ship's see it listed in their patters.

I truly hope that this is not another cut back from Princess.

They didn't have it on the Caribbean Princess the first week of February:eek:

  6. There is a place called the Naked Crab right next door, but I have no idea if it's any good or not. Other than that, if your companion can only walk short distances, you're going to need to use some form of transport.

We stayed at the Best Western Oceanside just next door to the B Ocean and they have an included breakfast buffet which was very good. I seem to remember seeing somewhere on the property that they take walk-ins for breakfast at something like 10 dollars per person.[/quote

    Thank you so much!!

  7. Has any one stayed at the B Ocean Resort? I'm doing a pre night cruise before boarding the Caribbean Princess. Are there any restaurants within walking distance, my traveling companion can only walk short distances. Is there any where close by to eat breakfast? I appreciate any input.

  8. On Princess last cruise, we stayed at the Hilton marina for one night, pre-cruise. This time, we asked for a beach hotel... princess booked us at the B Ocean resort. The critic are worrying us a little bit... the hotel was just renovated and it is right on the beach... so we will see... it is just for one night...

That's where we're staying in January! At least its only one night. Any idea what time the transfers are to the cruise terminal??

  9. That is very strange - I have a cruise leaving in 7 weeks and when I look at my excursion reservations it shows me the option of Paying now or having them put on my onboard account

My travel agent just responded to say that this policy is effective with 2018 sailings forward. You still have the option of using OBC when you make the purchase if its OBC that is in your account.

  10. Its been almost two years since I last cruised with Princess. Today I went to book my shore excursions for an upcoming cruise, and found they now require payment upfront! When did that happen? I've always liked the fact that I wasn't charged with the excursions until the end of the cruise.:')

  11. Hi

I Logged into 'MY Princess' account to look over the excursions available for our May 28th 2016 Alaska cruise.

As the excursions do not load for any of the 3 ports we're visiting , is there a set date when the ship excursions are open for booking ? EG 200 days from sailing date. Currently at 294 days out from sailing

    Thanks

    Karen

We are doing an Alaska cruise on the Coral Princess July 2016, I received an email from Princess last Friday saying that shore excursions were now available for booking.

  12. Maybe we've been lucky. Never had a bad mattress or a bad night on a Princess ship. 15 & counting.

Same here 28 and counting! I was on the Emerald Princess a couple of weeks ago, my mattress was perfect but my roommate complained about hers having a dip in the middle!! I have to admit, I didn't like the new pillows, they are king size and just didn't work on a single bed.

You caught your mistake...wine package bottles are only available "at all dining locations" but not from any bar or from room service.

If you take a full bottle from any dining room you're allowed to enjoy it without any additional fee because you bought it from Princess. You could take a bottle to your cabin & take a glass of wine to enjoy anywhere on the ship. However you couldn't take a bottle of wine to a bar and ask them to pour you a glass which can only be done at a dining location.

If you want to buy wine by the glass there are other options that I have recently experienced. In the past 6 months during 3 cruises they have always had a BOGO drink promotion between 3:00-4:00 and 11:00-midnight. Also the TA provided better 50th anniversary coupon books had 2 other wine coupons: BOGO glass of wine at the Princess Theater and a free 375ml bottle of Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon or Chardonnay at a specially restaurant. :D[/QUOTE]
On the Emerald last week, the hours were 4:00-5:00 held in the Wheelhouse bar and it was buy one and get the 2nd for a dollar. The 2nd had to be the same as the first and they were brought at the same time. You were also entered in
a raffle, the 1st prize was a $135 bottle of Mondovi Cabernet.
  14. We are looking at booking and emerald deck balcony and would be most grateful for any information on how obscured the balcony is likely to be, please?

Will the lifeboat be right in front of the balcony, or will it be below? Or will we have a derrick right in front of the balcony?

Any help would be most gratefully received.

    Many thanks!

If you Google Princess Obstructed view cabins, there is a great site called cabin view by renmar. I booked E412 on the Royal after looking at the photos. it is listed as being obstructed but only because the balcony on one side is slightly angled. We look down on deck 7, but you can look straight out to sea.

  15. My problem with saved cruises is when I click to check availability, I get this message -

The page you are trying to reach is unavailable or may no longer exist.

I then have to start all over under plan a cruise - can't check available cabins under my saved cruises. :(

    Aggravating!!!

I've been having the same problem for a couple of weeks.

  16. The group was very large two coaches, it was very well organized each coach having its own tour manager. It was set up so that we toured the sites at different times, so the only time you might see the other group was in passing or at meal times on the river boat.

Yes we were able to use our credit cards, most of the places you are taken to are "official " tourist traps!!!! Not too many chances to get away on your own.

But that was fine with us, we're older and feel safer in a group. I forget where we boarded the train but we were the only westerners in that train station! We actually had the locals staring and pointing fingers at us, it was quite funny.

  17. Thanks everyone for all your information. We are on the land tour and cruise with Cosmic Rays. We have not been able to find out anything, so any information you care to share is greatly appreciated by us too.

Does anyone know what cruise line Princess uses for its Yangtze River 3-day cruise within the land tour?

Thanks again for sharing the information.

We did the 8 day land tour before joining the Diamond Princess in 2013. The pace was very hectic but so worth it! The river boat that we were on had only Princess passengers on it , the name was the Victoria Star. It was totally geared to western passengers and had met Princess standards. The food was great, with entertainment every night. Touring the Three Gorges was unforgettable especially going into one of the inner gorges on a raft that would have been used by the Chinese for hundreds of years. We also had an included Bullet train ride! I think you will really enjoy the whole experience!

  18. We just booked a late May cruise from Barcelona to Rome. One of the ports is Tunis. I know this year that port has been cancelled due to violence but where is Princess going instead? I'm certainly fine with missing this stop next year if it is not safe but it's still on the schedule. But no excursions are listed so that leads me to think that they are still deciding what to do.

We were due to go to Tunis on our cruise this Aug 29, instead of Tunis, the replacement port is Salerno, Italy.

  19. The Mothers Day sale was actually a sale. Probably one of the better ones I have seen in a while. I managed to go from a Balcony to Mini Suite for 275 dollars less on a 5 day to Cabo in November.[/QUO

We did as well, we went from an obstructed ocean view to a balcony for the same price. now the balconies are going for almost

$1,000 more than we paid. We also kept all of the incentives that we had originally.

  20. I don't know if there has been a post about this, but I searched for a cruise on the Royal and its asking if I'm sailing before April 22nd, 2016 or after.
Does anyone know what changes are made already????
