  1. We only got a few hundred dollars off of our cruise through the program, but I was able to book Alaska in July 2018 no proble

Hi Michelle from Pat and Bill. Hope all is well. Our Grandson Graham( age 2) broke his leg on a moon bounce, but is handling the cast quite well. Big Sis Tessa(age 8) has been a big help to him.

Hope we get to cruise together in the near future. Our money has been going to Disney World lately.

Hello to Paul, Scotty and your folks.

    Take Care,

    PAT

  2. I sailed at 10 weeks. I wore the bands the first two days and then was fine. I also was very aware of drinking water and relaxing. To this day it was the easiest least stressful trip we took. Congrats & enjoy

    Hello Mrs, bean,

That was a great cruise! You were too excited to feel sick!

We are sailing on the GEM again next January for the 9 day Carribean...come join us. We loved the Breakaway, but it would be the same ports as last February...probably same shows.

PS Tessa cut off 6 inches of hair at pre-school...a definite 911 hair day!

    Loving a 4 year old!

  3. Anyone know if they sell ginger ale on the ship? We're sailing Norwegian if that makes a difference.

NCL has ginger Ale, but not Diet Ginger Ale. I always bring 4 cans of Diet Ginger Ale for Sea sickness, but I've never needed it. I also wear wrist bands which can also be helpful if morning sickness strikes. I've heard you should keep your belly full, don't skip meals, and don't wait more than 4 hours apart for meals. Don't worry about gaining extra weight from the food. Skip the elevators and enjoy strolls around the ship after each meal.

Congratulations....get some rest on this cruise...you're going to be busy next fall.:)

  4. This is why we need the search function back up soon.

Every day we have multiple new, redundant threads about the missing search function :p

I sent an email to the Community help site. They responded today saying they are working hard to fix this problem.

I am so sad. I can't get into my posts and threads. I have a trivia thread that I haven't gotten into for weeks. This is no fun.:(

I don't understand why some folks are having no problems.

  5. I agree with you, we've booked now so it's a moot point. We are going to enjoy the cruise for what it is and not let it bother us.

Just got off the Breakaway and had a terrific time. We are already booked for next year.

Before sailing her my two main concerns were the 1700+ children on board and the smokiness of the ship.

Both concerns were no problem. Kids were well behaved and fun to be with, and smoke on the ship was avoidable.

We stayed away from the smoky casino. We avoided walking under Deck 7's open atrium near leBistro and had no problems. Most of the activities that we enjoyed were on Deck 6 atrium under O'Sheehan's, and there was no odor to my joy!

This is always a hot topic for cruiselines...non-smokers like me who grew up with secondary smoke and now suffering the health consequences, and smokers who have an addiction to nicotine that they struggle with.

So go have a good time...you won't have a problem on your balcony either.

  6. Looking forward to your review!

I'm considering this itinerary for April. My mother in law may come. Does she need a passport? Or will a birth certificate with drivers license be enough?

Just got off the Breakaway also, It was fantastic! 1700 + children did very well. The ship, staff, food, shows and activities were all terrific. The bathrooms are the best at sea. I loved the newness of the ship and the fun and friendliness of the staff. We were spoiled with the best cabin steward, Josephine, we've ever had. Have sailed 18 times and this was our favorite cruise. Great Stirrup Cay was gorgeous. Florida was sunny and warm, and the 8th wonder of the world, The Atlantis, never fails.

Go have a great time and stop reading the negative reviews.

Get a passport for you mother-in-law. Most countries and cruiselines require them now. BC isn't enough.

Enjoy your cruise. We have already booked the Breakaway for next January's 12 day southern Carribean.

  7. It was great seeing you guys the other day. I agree with the Ocean Blue thoughts, we found it better in October, not sure we would go again. Thinking about next year also. Enjoy the Dawn

    Hi Michelle,

We're off to the Bahamas next week, weather permitting. Can't wait to see the Breakaway.

Happy "45th" Birthday on the 23rd! The day we get back! Celebrate big!:)

We are so tired of the snow and 0 to 20 degree weather...not normal for lower Delaware. Can't wait for GS Cay and lots of trivia in the sun.

    Take care,

    PAT
