Yes and with good results! Some rooms on some ships have no obstruction. Mid ship rooms are our favorite.

Mindy, you 'may' want to consider using a new TA if they accepted the answer that the computer couldn't be overridden ... maybe not by the first person that answered the TA's call to Princess...but certainly can be by a supervisor..:halo:

She is a good travel agent and she did call Princess. She too was a little frustrated.

We have a 14 day b2b booked for January and we also wanted it booked b2b rather than 2 consecutive cruises but were unable to get the cabin we wanted even though each segment showed as available. Our travel agent called Princess and she was told it was a computer thing and it was not possible to override the program. (We decided Due to shareholders credits and Military credits it was better to book it as a 14 day.). The room we have will be fine but I don’t understand Princess reasoning.

The problem with a $1 deposit is that you don't get OBC from using a FCD.

There was a blurb right near the front that said this issue will focus on making memories ie..family reunions, taking little ones on first cruise..etc. That wasn't exact words but the gist of it. So perhaps it is just for this issue that they were focusing on that.

You are correct! We love to see younger families onboard but at the moment, they are in the minority. It is always nice to see several family generations together.

You are correct (in our opinion ) that Princess seems to be targeting younger families. I tHink they realize that we 'older folks' are the majority on all of their ships! They are looking to the future. However we 'older and retired' are able to cruise more often without work deadlines and school calendars to follow.:)

We have two cruises booked on the CB and we are considering cancelling because of these reviews. Wish we heard some positives! Just doesn't sound like Princess standards.

Yes, definitely.

When on the Royal this past February, a set of 6 bingo cards (4 games) was $30. Many people were using the IPads and to be honest, it seemed to me that they were the ones winning. I chose not to make the iPad purchase. In the past, I have won several times using the papers and markers on previous cruises (I buy one bingo marker ink and bring it back for next cruise!). Cheap of me, I know, but why not?). I enjoy bingo while on board.

In regard to the new sale, it may work for some but not for us. The room price went up $220 pp and the shipboard credit would be $150 more pp so we would not benefit. (We are booked on a January 2018 sailing.)

Forgot......on previous booking, we received free gratuities so it is best that we keep the previous booking and not new sale price.

Yes, usually they will have football on the big screen on Sundays. We were on the Regal from 11-6 to 11-13 and two games were on...Sunday and on Thursday night, there was football game in the Vista Lounge.

Oops! I didn't read the post completely and discovered you will be exciting in Sydney. (I was thinking Fort Lauderdale). Sorry.

Since you have a 4 pm flight, you may like the Inland Waterways Coastal tour at disembarkation which is offered by Princess. It was very well organized and tour is over at 1 pm. Your luggage will accompany you on the bus and you will be taken to the airport in ample time. We enjoyed the tour very much.

We always notify our credit card company in the event we chose to use our card while out of the country.

I don't know your situation but Princess gives a Military discount to vets and active military. Seeing TA will let you know.

We too are on the 11/6/16 Regal with an Obs. View BV balcony (there really isn't any obstruction and we are happy with our room) but noticed that the price went down. I asked my TA about possible shipboard credit from Princess and was told that Princess doesn't do that after final payment, which I understand, but thought I would try! I did not however ask about a change of rooms, so I would ask...for sure. You never know. It doesn't hurt to try. Let us know.

We r booked on a 14-day so this promo includes tipping which amounts to $362.60, shipboard credit is $300, plus my travel agent promo, then we receive $250 military credit, and $250 stockholder credit. This is why we didn't mind losing the sip and sail shipboard credit. For us, it works. We r happy ... Plus,the cruise price dropped a bit and we took an upgrade from balcony to a premium balcony mid-ship.

The prepaid tipping may be better for the staff...as I have heard of some who won't pay the tipping. IMHO, the staff works very hard and very long hours. They deserve their money.

Booked during the recent free drink package. This deal provides much less for me and wife. Question is whether it can be combined. Before I call, has anyone tried adding this to the previous sale?

Yes, we just refared. It was better for us. You will lose the S&S but gain free gratuities, a better room and perhaps a better rate. You just need to decide which is best for you.

We just got our January 2018 cruise refared Switched from previously booked S&S promo to the 3 for Free sale, got a little better rate, a better midship room plus free gratuities, so it was good for us.
