  1. We were on a 3 day cruise a few years ago and also aboard were:

-former Pres. George Bush and former First Lady Barbara Bush

-Neil and Jeb Bush with members of their families

-and the twins Jenna and Barbara Bush

It was strange...I kind of forgot they were aboard...then I would see one or more of them (always with a secret service agent or 2 around). Couldn't really believe my eyes. There was always a coast guard ship visible as well as a (blackhawk) helicopter.

Was that the disney wonder? A friend of mine works for Disney and part of his job was taking care of the twins. Had a blast right up until disembarktion when the twins were not in their room, but hanging with the crew. My friend thought they were toast till Fmr. Pres laughed and told them he was a teenager once. There was also a sub along side the cruise the whole time so they could travel with less security visable.

  2. My DH and DD had breakfast out on our balcony every morning so I could sleep in a little (we fight a 3hr time difference, seems to effect them diferent than me). My DD and I spent many nights out there watching hundreds of dolphins and still talk about the dolphins teaching the young ones to hunt. It just doesn't get any better than that. As for smoking, I do smoke out there because my DD did require naps and went to bed early and it was easier to smoke on my balcony than to tread up stairs to the other side of the deck. She was much younger then and we spent alot of time in our cabin.

  3. My husband and I just got passports for us and our daughter. I had a passport as a child but it was long ago expired. For NEW applicants the fees we were charged are as follows: Adult $75 plus $25 execution fee and for a child it was $60 plus the $25 execution fee. We had our photos done at the post office but I have heard Walgreens does them pretty cheap. It is an additional $60.00 to expedite (3 wk) per passport. The average time for a passport is (4-6wks) regularly. Also, if you are getting your child's passport, BOTH parents must be there or have a notorized paper saying why one is not. Also it is recommended and sometimes madatory that you have a notorized paper allowing one parent or relative permission by the other to take a child out of the country. In my case, my husband can not go on the cruise so we have to have a paper NOTORIZED saying he is giving me permission to take our child on the specific cruise and that I (and other family members) have his permission to authorize medical care in an emergency. Also, if you have an amended birth cert. for a child you will need the legal paperwork to send in as well. This goes for adoptions (foreign, step-parent, etc) or name changes. Hope this helps. I was also told that passports are mandatory for all cruises that go to Mexico, Bahamas, and the Caribbean as well as the usual foreign countries. Hope this helps.
