  1. We got upgraded from Spacious Balcony to Junior Suite on our 12/5 cruise. Does anyone know if it is possible to get a double upgrade? Example: The junior suite was the lowest cabin we bid on, so since we have been upgraded to it, is there the possibility of one of our Grand Suite bids being accepted closer to sailing? Thanks! We’re super excited!

  3. Has anyone ever won a Spa Club Suite Balcony? We’re sailing on Saturday and all of the Haven Suites are sold out, I have put bids in but I’m not holding my breath on them.

We are currently in a Club Suite and would at least really like to go up to a Spa Club Suite as we like the Thermal Spa and have spent a lot of time in there the last couple of cruises. The cost of the thermal spa pass is $299 and the range for bidding is $100-$550. There are a couple of those rooms available, I placed a bid $260pp which puts is in the middle of fair and am wondering if I should up it to at least $300pp to match the price of the thermal spa pass. I’m probably way overthinking it, as usual! Thanks for any guidance!

  4. Thanks so much for this wonderful info. I seriously laughed out loud when reading about your shower situation. It would have gone down exactly the same with my husband and me.  We will be on the Bliss in about 6 weeks. Right now we are booked in a Club Suite, but have submitted upgrade offers to the Haven and hoping one goes through. This oils be our first time in a Haven suite, on our first cruise to Alaska and our 20th anniversary. I submitted the offers without telling me husband, hoping to surprise him! 🤞🏻

  5. My sister went on her first cruise right before the Pandemic. It was a five day cruise and she probably took about $100 a day to gamble. Her first day, she hit a $3500 jackpot. She gambled a little bit after that but she didn’t want to give the money back to the ship, so not much.

She has gotten offers for free cruises since then. We are finally going next month on a four day one out of San Pedro. Most of the offers have been for shorter cruises, but there were a couple of 7 day cruises also. The offer is for an inside cabin, but we were able to pay the difference to get a balcony.

  6. On my last cruise I had $100 from my TA not show up. I went to guess services and they said they would check into it. The next day they left me a message saying they had contacted the office in Miami and there was no record that I should receive it, so I wouldn't be getting it, even though I had paperwork showing I would. When I got home I called my TA and they issued me a credit immediately. Now that is customer service!

  7. Our 90-day dinner reservations open tomorrow. I am assuming that only restaurant seating is available at 90 days. We have our specialty restaurants and days figured out. Regarding the times, is there a good time to book that complements the evening shows? My assumption is that we cannot reserve seats for shows because the smaller ships tend to have review-type shows on a first come basis - is that accurate? We don't want to conflict ourselves with times or have to hurry up dinner to make a show.

PS - when is sun down in Alaska in late May? We have a departure scheduled for midnight. Should we expect complete darkness?

    Thanks!

My husband is from Anchorage and we have been there many times. Since your 90 days is tomorrow I'm assuming your cruise is the end of May. I have been to Anchorage the end of May and we have been out driving around at 11:30-midnight and it was dusk outside, I just looked at a pic of a moose that I took at 11:40pm and it was still early dusk. So, depending where in Alaska you are that will give you an idea of when it gets dark. Every night it will get a little later.

  8. We used. Victor Bodden with our then teen kids a few years ago and had a great time and felt very safe. I thought about using him again this March, but ultimately decided to go wth Daniel Johnson, because of his sloth hangout. Either one will tailor an excursion to what your family wants it to be.

  9. This. We booked as well through Daniel Johnson's FB page. Emma was there waiting for us, gave us a thorough tour of the island, did the monkey and sloth hang out, and then did the pirate zip line tour. Overall, a very good day!

Thanks! Excited for this excursion, checking off a couple bucket list items, holding a sloth and ziplining for the first time.

  10. We've rented from Budget at their 2nd Ave location. It's about 5 mins away and they have a free shuttle. I've already reserved cars for before and after our cruise in March. There are several BCD codes out there to try, some of them give pretty good deals.
