Yes  I  booked and paid the $8.  Google says it's a 6 minute walk.  El Cid looks closer but is $65.  I'm probably only going to spend 2 to 3 hours there

I didn't realize it was that close of a walk. It seemed like a 6-minute drive but it's been awhile since I went.

FWIW I ran the numbers out of curiosity and came up with the same figure as Carnival. Can’t see a reason why you came up with $891 price.

They believed that by purchasing the package early they would receive a 10% discount. 10% off of $990.38 makes it $891.34. The confusion was that by purchasing early you already receive a 10% discount off the price vs buying it onboard.

I agree and think the OP's concern is that the pair going on one excursion is under separate cabin bookings.  I am among those that don't think there will be an issue, which I think is just about everyone.  If it is causing the OP unnecessary worry, it is easy enough to confirm.

I'm not worried, per se. Just wondering if it was an issue really. I didn't want the line to get held up or there be issues trying to leave the ship for the two of them.

If everyone is saying it is not a problem, then I am cool with that. We have just never experienced doing it this way before and it was a question that popped up between the wife and I the other night while we were getting things ready.

Linking the accounts will allow for booking excursions, but what about the parent in one cabin taking the child staying in the other off ship?

This is what I’m wondering about. We are linked as far as companions but I think that just lets us eat together and book excursions together. The issue of my wife and daughter getting off together is what I’m trying to figure out.

  5. I have a situation that we haven't experienced before but I know isn't unique, just not sure what to do. My wife, two kids, and I are cruising next week. To get the best value we booked two rooms on two different bookings. Her and our son in one booking, I and our daughter in the other.

We have separate room numbers and separate booking numbers. At one of the stops my wife and my daughter are going on an excursion and my son and I are staying on. How does Carnival handle this? According to my booking they know nothing about my wife and son in the other room. When they scan my daughters sign and sail card and see its not me trying to take her off, how will they see that?

I am sure there is a simple solution we just haven't dealt with this scenario yet.

I find it interesting that I read so many varying experiences on the same cruise.

The FB group I'm in for a sailing on the Breeze next week has comments from people who share a significantly differing opinion of the capacity / crowded-ness on this most recent cruise.

Of course I have no way of validating anyone's comments from that cruise, so I'm just going next week with an open mind.

Are you on the Dec 2 sailing?

What are some good tequilas and which should we avoid?  We were scammed our first trip.

I am not sure which ones are the best. There is only one specific one I am looking for.

Yes but only asking if YOU have anything to declare . There is no random selection for going through luggage . It is strictly voluntary to declare on your part .

I don't mind paying the tax, just wanted to prepare for it if it was still there.

Tequila is available in the port shops at all 3 piers.  Also at the 2 supermarkets just south of downtown, MegaMart and Chedraui  within a block of each other and there's a large liquor store, Covi, not that far away.  La Europea, in front of Mega also has a good selection but higher prices than Mega.

Thank you for the information. I appreciate it.

  10. In one of our previous visits to Cozumel we visited some shops downtown and purchased some tequila that was only made in Mexico. I would like to get some more but I have no idea where we found it.

Does anyone know of any local liquor stores in downtown? We are looking to do an excursion this visit. So I just wanted to take a quick trip downtown before we get back on the boat to see if I can find it.

  11. I know cigar smokers are allow allowed on certain decks and places within those decks. Do any of the places where cigar smoking is allowed have drink service? Enjoying a nice smoke takes at least a hour or so and being able to have drinks during that time would be nice.
