  1. We usually download movies to our ipads. Is it possible to connect our ipads to the room tv to watch the movies. If yes which cables would be necessary

Don't know if it matters, but we will be on the Seascape in the the yacht club

  2. We have a booking for yacht club deck 16 in April 2024 and have a few questions.

Is it possible to get a wheelchair at the yacht club tent, Wife would need help getting through check in and embarcation

Is there an elevator in the yacht  club area to acess the dining room and the pool area

  3. Just cancelled a b2b cruise with Celebrity after 10+ cruises in sky suites. I have a 3 day courtesy hold on cabin 16006. Final decision due on Monday. Wondering if anyone has been in that cabin and their views, also any other recommendations. Forgot to mention, this is a Yacht Club Deluxe Suite. Any comments will be appreciated as I have make decision on Monday

  4. Remember reading about people using OBC for tipping staff above regular gratuities. Don't remember if the recipient gets their share of the pool tips plus the extra that would come from the OBC  In the past I always used cash, but this time I have a large amount of OBC so I'd rather use that if the recipients actually receive the money

  5. A while ago I read Jim, from Jim_Iain, writing about a specialty coffee drink. Other people also favorably commented on said drink. Will be on a cruise end of March and wife likes her coffee so would appreciate any help in identifying the drink.

  6. You should drop off bags with the porters before parking....it's so much easier!

I'm not sure why your embarkation in Fort Lauderdale is usually disorganized. I've done over 40 embarkations in Fort Lauderdale and only found them to be disorganized a couple of times. Disembarkation can be a bit chaotic though.

should have said uber driver was not able to get close to the porters because of the congestion and people directing traffic

  7. This to add some clarity to my original post. The post was meant to share our thoughts and concerns on the cruise, not to solicit disagreements or agreements. If after speaking to the Captains Club hostess on the ship she would have stated "no cruise no points" I would not have agreed but would have considered it a done deal and moved on. But she advised me to contact someone in a management position which led me to believe these cases could be handled on a case by case basis. After reading one post it can be handled that way. So apparently it is not a firm rule.

After following different sub forums it seems like every different cruise line has its own little fan club and when certain fans don't agree with posts they pounce.

  8. This was our 14th cruise overall and 4th on Celebrity. These are going to be our(wife and I) thoughts and opinions on process from embarkation to disembarkation. Embarkation ,as usual in Fort Lauderdale, not very organized. Were not able to park close to area to drop off checked bags. After dragging two large bags a considerable distance, security and check in went smoothly. Wife needs wheel chair assistance to get up ramp to ship. We waited over 35 minutes and finally we walked on board. Was supposed to have a line for suite guests but we were sent to wrong area. Don't believe this can be blamed on Celebrity as I think most of people at terminal are port employees. Ship was in very good condition and staff was super. Every cruise the selection of food seems less appealing. Staff in Luminae and Blu and Ocean Vue were all super. Our orders In Luminae were wrong four different times, different waiter on orders so must have been kitchen goof ups. Ate one night in Tuscan Grille and food and service were extraordinary. Butler and cabin attendant were always asking what more they could do to make our cruise enjoyable. Dismbarkation went quite smoothly. Out of cabin by 8:30, hung out in Michael's till about 9:30 requested a wheelchair and off the ship picked up luggage went through customs and were dropped off by UBER pickup area in 15 minutes. All in all an enjoyable cruise. So why good bye to Celebrity? Feb/Mar 2017 we had to cancel a cruise on the Reflection (Sky suite deck 12) approx. 2 weeks prior to sailing. Our travel agent called and cancelled. We understood that we would not receive our fare refunded. At my request travel agent called later and asked if we would receive Captains Club points as we had paid and cancelled allowing Celebrity to resell the cabin. Celebrity rep said no, points are only awarded after cruise is completed. I didn't agree but let it go at the time. While we were on the 3/23/2018 cruise I visited the Captains Club hostess on Reflection and went through the whole scenario with her. She made a call and received the same answer that our travel agent received. The hostess said most of the reps on the phone are more or less reading from a script and suggested that when I got home to call and speak with a manager, which she was unable to do. I did as she suggested, had to go through the whole scenario with a script reader in order to talk to a manager. Got to a manager (?) and again went through the whole story again. His reply was hard fast rule no points. I again went through the process of paying and not using the four perks and Celebrity being able to resell the cabin. Again his reply no points. In hindsite I should have just been a noshow, then I don't believe they would have had the option to resell. In the end I'm sorry it ends this way, but it has now become matter of principle with me. I really like Celebrity but I just returned from my travel agent with brochures for Holland America and Viking Ocean Cruises.

  9. having trouble adding attachments to new post. I keep getting this warning " The Dimension limits for this filetype are 620 x 280. We were unable to resize your file so you will need to do so manually and upload it again. Your file is currently 280 x 497".Is there a step by step tutorial for attachments?

  10. Recently returned from an 11 day cruise on the Equinox. Have a few bits and pieces of info on the port, hotel before and after cruise, and some on ship learnings.

First time cruising out of Fort Lauderdale. Found Galt Villa Hotel. very clean, friendly and helpful staff and reasonable rates. Would definitely stay there again. I must stress cleanliness because that is my wifes number 1 criteria. I jokingly told the owner(very friendly lady) that if cleanliness is next to Godliness Galt Villa must be heaven. Hotel is in walking distance of stores and restaurants.

Fort Lauderdale cabs are another matter. To make a long story short most of the drivers we experienced took the long way around. Much different than the experience we were used to in Miami where they have zones.

We were in cabin 2151, an aft sky suite, on deck 12. Some noise from chair scraping above, but the covered large balcony was a good tradeoff for us.

Luminae was great. Michaels club a real treat. Bistro on 5 a gem. We ate there often. When in port suite guests lunches are complimentary in Bistro on 5. Suite 2151 has a large porthole on the side which becomes clouded with salt spray while underway. We found out that while in port you can have your butler arrange to have spay nozzles activated to clean porthole, which gives you a nice view from the side.

This was our second cruise on Celebrity and was great. We would have booked another cruise while on board but all the cabins we were interested in were unavailable for the dates we wanted.

  11. Was at my travel agents today and found out our Feb 22 cruise on the Equinox had an itinerary change.

Agent called Celebrity and after being on hold and being hung up on was informed Celebrity emailed her approx one month ago and informed her of the change. Agent went through her emails and there was no notification of this change. The itinerary is just reversed and Belize is cancelled and Cartagena is now an overnight. I have no problem with the change personally but am curious what caused the change. Also wondering what happens to people who prepurchased tours.
