  1. A further update following Hurricanes Irma and Maria in the US and the Caribbean - the vast majority of ports in the Caribbean are thankfully open and unaffected by the storms. Across the Caribbean, 43 of the region’s estimated 48 ports are fully operational today, having received no or minimal direct damage from the storms.

It is inspiring to see so many of our guests supporting relief and recovery efforts, and we will continue to look for ways to provide more support. Although some ports are affected we are hopeful that they will be operational again before the end of the year for cruises from January onwards.

We have worked with our port agents and have now amended the itineraries to include alternative destinations for any cruises that include impacted ports. These will shortly be updated on our website.

Guests who have booked Caribbean cruises from October to the end of this year will be receiving their new itineraries from us within a week.

We'll be posting further updates on our website at http://www.pocruises.com/caribbeanupdate

  2. Since looking into the answer we have now decided not to buy the wine package. We love wine but are not that fussy on a certain brand , so we are going to purchase a different bottle of wine each evening at dinner possibly a £15.50 bottle and then we will receive the peninsular discount.( ours is only 5%) hope Iv got this right.

  3. Just checked p&o website and this what it said, hope it helps

    Wine Packages

Various wine packages are available. Wine packages can be consumed either in the restaurant or in your cabin. Please note loyalty discount will not be applied when purchasing wine packages.

  4. We have booked it. We decided to book the early saver fare and have gone for the HD balcony cabin.

    Can't wait. Few more questions.

When you do the Caribbean can you buy drinks ashore and take on board. Ie water. Cans of pop.

Plus can you buy bottle on plane or Manchester airport and take it on ship in barbados?

  5. Thanks for replies.

We have got our travel agent checking between select and early saver price.

Any idea which flights they use to barbados from manchester?

Plus do you think a lot of people book so near to christmas. ( it gets back to manchester on 23rd24th dec)

  6. We are thinking of booking britannia for the 9th dec Caribbean cruise.

Rougly what age of guest will be sailing 2 weeks before Christmas?

At the moment the prices are select and early saver fares when do the saver fares come out?

The price for the early saver fare is quite good that's why we are considering booking now , is there a fair chance we could get freedom dining?

Thanks not sailed with p&o for a couple of years now, looking forward to it.

    Thanks.

  7. Hi. I felt so sorry for the couple we met. They where considering to just fly home back to the U.S. So hopefully we convinced them to go on there cruise. We told them to go a buy a few things in venice. And then if luggage didn't turn up just keep buying a few things in port as they should be able to claim on insurance once home. Plus the extra cloths bought will always come in handy for other holidays. As we were flying home that day we passed on all our toiletries just to see them through for a few days ( shampoo, conditioner, body spray.deodrant. Etc) it was such a shame as the cruise was to celebrate there 40th wedding anniversary.

If any one has any news please let me know. Thanks.

  8. hi .whist we were in venice we met a lovely couple who where due to sail on Ncl spirit, they had flown from the usa via a few airports to venice, but there luggage hadn't arrived . We offered them some advise and just hope they got the luggage back.

We would love to know the out come. Their sailing date was the 5 th September on Ncl spirit.

We had just got off Ncl jade the day before.

  9. hi not sailed with thomson recently.

We have just booked the dream for 5 nights at the end of October.

Can anyone help with the following questions please.

Do we receive a welcome booklet before sailing telling us about everything.?

Are there tables for two in main resteraunt. If so are they easy to get.?

Do we get a Formal dress night on a 5 night cruise with no full sea days.?

Cabin no is it allocated on arrival?

Does luggage go straight from airport to cabin or do we collect it and take to the coach?

In Palma we set sail at 11pm. What time do they usually do the life boat drill?

(As it would be nice to go into Palma that day)

We are not doing the all inclusive but is there a wine package available.?

In a outside window plus cabin do you receive an extras such as bottled water. Toiletries.?

Plus any other tips please. Thankyou.

  10. just noticed there's still quite a few cabins left for the cruise we are sailing on. 28/8/15.

How do Ncl fill these now? The prices are quite high.and for passengers from US they would have to buy flights as well.

We originally booked a window cabin but upgraded to a mid ship balcony for a small charge. Would they allow us to do this again? (But the difference in price is a lot more.)

  11. Hi. If your cruise is port intensive.(long days in port) it might not be worth it.

We have been on jade twice without the package and still never spent as much as the package would cost. We would have a bottle of wine with evening meal each night and a few beers and cocktails throughout the day and a few soft drinks. Our bar bill was never over £300.

Plus if you don't have the package you don't mind paying to have a few drinks in port.

This time we have got the drink package included free so that will be nice being able to try different drinks and if I don't like them it's not a problem.
