Years a go I took a 7 day cruise out of Hawaii & one of the stops was a small atoll.

I know they don’t stop there anymore I just need the name.

    thanks

My guess is that you are referring to Fanning Island.  My husband and I made 3 cruises there on the NCL Star.  We found it fascinating and were so sorry when NCL discontinued their visits there.  I would love to go back, but the only way is on one of those 45-60+ day, very expensive cruises.

  2. Just got off the Seaside on Saturday. For our group of 4 we had adjoining balcony cabins on Deck 14 midship. One of the ladies said she noticed a little smell one day in our hallway. She has a very sensitive nose. It was quickly gone. The rest of us never noticed it there or anywhere else on the ship for that matter. It was a total non issue.

  3. Like I said. It was all in German, but fortunately I have traveled enough to recognize that and by using my imagination I figured it out. When I did that and filled in all the blanks the next screen came up in English.

  4. I read that we should have the MSC for Me App to make reservations for the shows we want to see, and maybe for some other reasons. I downloaded the App from the Appstore, but the language is all in German and I see no way to change it!!! HELP!!! We leave in the morning.

  5. Thank you, Rhiannon. This explanation was very helpful. This seems completely safe. I won't worry about it anymore. Now if the weather will just cooperate. At this point it looks like maybe thunderstorms the day we are in port.

  6. We have booked, for our party of 4, an excursion with MarvynsParadiseTours from Ocho Rios. We are to go to the Blue Hole and White River Tubing, and then lunch somewhere. I have just read that Ocho Rios is not such a safe port. What are the thoughts of some of you who have been there recently? My husband and I did the White River Tubing about 10 years ago, and loved it! I tend to overthink and overplan things, so if it is not that big a deal, please put my mind at ease. ;)

  7. Didn't really want to start a new thread, but was wondering if those of you who have been on this cruise in a Balcony Cabin found the furnished hairdryer to be adequate?

Also, is there shower gel provided?

And hopefully I can communicate well enough with my cabin steward that I need the comforter removed from my bed and replaced with just a sheet and lightweight blanket. And I need the ice bucket full every evening so that I can take care of icing my silly feet before bed so I can sleep. :o

  8. It seems I read somewhere on CC that MSC Seaside had substituted Grand Turk for Nassau. Is this true? It seems too good to be true. Would surely love this. Have no interest in Nassau and probably none of our group would even get off the ship. On the other hand, my husband and I loved our day in Grand Turk. Beautiful beach, and it's RIGHT THERE when you walk off the ship and down the long pier. Probably too much to hope for, but would be wonderful!!! Is there any way I can find out. Our cruise begins 2/24/18 and we are scheduled to be in Nassau on 3/2/18.

  9. Oops, I meant USB ports!

    Thanks for all the responses.

Which side did you mean the one by the bed was on? The right or the left as you are facing the bed?

Any other helpful information about the cabin and the ship will be greatly appreciated. I understand it is wise to make reservations for the shows we want to see.

  10. Will be cruising very soon on MSC Seaside. How many electrical outlets are in a Deck 14 Fantastica Balcony Cabin, and where are they located? We will be having 2 cell phones (using for the cameras) and 2 tablets (fun games or books on Kindle to wind down in the evening). I am bringing a 4 HDMI port to plug in somewhere in the main cabin. Also, what about my hairdryer and curling iron? And please don't give me a hard time about them. My hair is very fine and will go completely flat without them, and I try to look as nice as I can. clear.png?emoji-wink-1685

  12. First of all, let me say that I have not posted anything on this forum in about 10 years, ever since my husband passed away, as cruising pretty much ended then. I hope I am following correct protocol in this posting. However, I am leaving in about 3 weeks on the MSC Seaside with some friends. We will be in Ocho Rios for our first port. I remember that my husband and I enjoyed a wonderful day tubing on the White River with a very kind young man as our guide. I am looking for a similar experience for myself and my friends. May I have recommendations, please? We are all seniors, so please keep that in mind. One lady is not particularly fond of water or adventure. Personally I love both. Thank you for your responses.
