  1. When you cruise to new places you are on a time limit to see and enjoy the world, thanks to Rome in Limo we had a magical magnificent memorable time in Italy, we booked 3 tours in Florence/Pisa, Rome, and Naples ( sorrento, poisitano ) our guides Fernando, Alberto and Tony were exemplary, they were on time, took us to every main sight and to many surprise sight, led us to wonderful food and treated us like family. Jany has the patience of a saint when you plan your tours. I would just like to say that all the 5 star reviews of this company were right on, you can't go wrong with Rome in Limo !!!!

  2. Thank you ALL so much for your helpful replies, I forwarded them all to my son and DIL.

Oh, they ARE very familiar with Disney kids clubs , they only sail Disney up until the cruise they just did on MSC , so it was comparing apples to oranges MSC has a long ways to go to have a good kids program but I have been telling them I didnt think that would be the case with Royal , that they boys would be fine and have a great time I just needed to hear it from a few of you . They compare everything to Disney.....just sayin :) Time to try new things....

  3. Im writing for my son and DIL. They have done numerous Disney cruises with their 3 sons and now have booked a cruise with us on RCL Independence , based on our love and loyalty to RCL. They just got off MSC and had a terrible experience with the kids clubs , lack of any activities geared to the children and lack of supervision to the point that they didn't use the club at all . It got me to thinking that really I don't know anything about kids programs on RCL even though we are Diamond level we have never traveled with the kids. SO before we go any further I am looking for reviews and thoughts , both good and bad, types of activities, night time availability anything that will help with our decision. The boys are currently 8, 10 and 13 and our planned cruise is for next summer Thanks to any and all in advance I appreciate your help

  4. We will be in Copenhagen to start a cruise next June 2015 and a few days afterwards and we are a family of 7....I was able to arrange private transportation in a Van that will fit all of us and all of our luggage on a reputable sight for a better price than cruise transfers.....we put together a package to be picked up at the airport, dropped at Bella Sky , Bella Sky to cruiseport, cruiseport to Imperial Hotel and then Imperial to airport when we go home. If I can give you any specific information just let me know. I think i did good but who knows :)

  5. Danish Viking, are you familiar with the Viking Museum ? and ships ? After our cruise we are staying a few days in Copenhagen as you know and want that to be one of our activities, what is the best way to do that from the Imperial Hotel ? I have inquired about Limo Van service and while its available to be gone with them for several hours is very expensive for 7 of us, but our little boys really want to go there and see what there is to see. If you took a train how far would it be from the Train station to get there ? Any advice or suggestion would be appreciated

    Thanks

  6. Well, thanks again Regguy, I am taking notes on everything you say....we do go to both Stockholm and St Petersburg so now I may rethink the

Viking museum and the additional travel in Copenhagen.....we arrive back in Copenhagen on Saturday and dont fly out til Tuesday, our boys will be 7, 10 and 12 we too plan a full day at Tivoli and a canal trip we might not even have time for a trip to the museum....I have so much to learn in the planning of this trip im like a sponge with all this great information....this is very special to all of us , my husband has no family but they are all from Denmark. So thank you yet again and if you have anything else to share please do....I also wait for Danish Viking. May I ask what Hotel you stayed at ???? jan

  7. Regguy.....Thank you so much ! what a kind and informative answer.....I am going to really take your advice to heart and think about doing it that way.....I have been in touch with 2 Limo companies , both similar pricing both very expensive but I thought with the children along I would just bite the bullet....neither company is being very reliable about replying to mail and so then I wonder how reliable they would be when we need them....you do make it sound very very simple. Did you ever notice cabs that are vans where we could all be in one and I could possibly book the other trips with them ? We will be on a 7 day Disney cruise and the transfers Disney provides are out of sight as far as money goes. Did you happen to get to the Viking Museum ??? Thanks so very much, that was an awesome reply.

  8. We are going to be in Copenhagen 3 days post cruise in June of 2015 and after a lot of searching we got a nice enough price at Hotel Imperial on Booking.com , breakfast included, AC, and very near many of the things we want to walk to see....it was hard to find something because we are 4 adults and 3 children and a lot of the hotels I inquired to cant accomodate a family the size of ours....lots of good reviews on Trip Advisor, a few criticisms but nothing is perfect and I think this will be a good choice for us.

  9. I need some advice please....we are sailing out of Copenhagen with Disney next June and spending 3 days in Copenhagen post cruise....we have our flights, our cruise and our hotels thanks to good advice on this forum....now, I am trying to book a transport company , we are 4 adults, 3 children and luggage so we dont want to do our transfers via train or bus we would like to hire a transport or limo company to get us from the airport to the hotel, hotel to cruise, cruise to hotel and then hotel to airport , and would it make sense to book this same company, IF we can find one, to take us to the Viking Museum or is there another way to get there , our 3 boys are all about the Viking History . Thanks so much for your wonderful help, its always right on

  10. Danish Viking I am looking for your expert advice once again or at least your opinion :) This is regarding the summer family cruise I have mentioned before, I have been doing some work , do you think this is a good plan or what advice could you give me. A reminder we are a family of 7 , 4 adults and 3 boys under the age of 12

Arriving June 12 , 1 night at Airport Hilton for cruise on June 13 simply for convienence and to make an easy transfer to the ship on Saturday

Saturday June 20-23 we have rec'd what I think is a fair price and a good package including breakfast for 3 nights at Hotel Bethel. They are very gracious and helpful with all my questions , is this a property you would recommend for a family ? Good location ? Nice place ? Convienient for sight seeing and getting around ? Would you suggest we stick with taxis and public transportation over hiring some type of private Van or Limo ? I am slowly but surely working my way through this.....

    Thanks so much

  11. Thanks to a couple of posts on this board I have been in touch with Hotel Bethel and have had some lovely and informative replies from them , very very helpful, also giving me prices and ideas for getting to and from the airport and the cruise ship. Does anyone have any first hand information or know anyone who has stayed there or reviewed this hotel who have good things to say ? Pricing seems very fair . But since we are a big family with children I want to make a good decision so I can move on to making other plans. Does anyone know of a recommended tour company for one of the days we are there who will take you for a Viking day to the Viking Museum etc, I understand its not exactly right in Copenhagen. Linda did you ever find a good van to use ? Since there are 7 of us I might consider that too .

Thanks for any and all help, its appreciated :)

  12. I am still stuck trying to find the right hotel...any help would be appreciated. There are 7 of us, 4 adults, 2 children under the age of 11 and a 12 year old a few of the hotels I have inquired into want us to take 3 rooms for a group that size and that is price prohibitive since we need one night pre cruise and hoped for 3 nights post cruise , does anyone know of a hotel that has rooms to accomodate our family, 4 in one room and 3 in the other thats in a good location for walking and touring esp after the cruise. I cant even get beyond this point so far.....thanks so much

  13. Thank you thank you ! I looked back but didnt see anything about the Viking Ship Museum and the boat trips or where it is ? I dont think using the Copenhagen card and the train system would be a good idea with 3 young boys do you ? Would we need some type of transportation to get to the Viking Museum ? I think if we stay at one of the hotels you suggest we can get to the Canal boat trip and Tivoli by foot......

    jan

  14. Hello to both of you :)

We can figure this all out together prish.....

And Joyce I will count on you for lots of good tips and information sorry I wasnt around to work through some of this with you ......we are not a big family but wouldnt it be quite something if we are related.....how did you do your ancestry work ? I would love to do some of that and since I am retiring in 9 months I will soon have time. This has been a dream of ours for a long time and staying in Copenhagen for a couple of days after the cruise if huge for us. How did you pick a hotel ? We are in Illinois near Chicago but I think my husbands family has people in Iowa too.

    jan

  15. When we booked our cruise I was totally lost as we have never been to Europe but Denmark is our dream , as it is our heritage, we are Sorensen's

We have booked a cruise that sails out of Copenhagen on the Disney Magic ( where does she sail from ?) there are 7 of us , my husband and I ( 60's) my son and his wife (40) 3 grandsons ....8...10...12 , we will fly in on Friday for Saturday sailing and will need a hotel for one night , when we return on Saturday we plan to stay another 2 nights and fly home on Monday . What would be a good hotel for a family with 3 children ? Maybe one that includes breakfast ? Tivoli Gardens a must for us ? Should we stay close by ? Canal Tour a must ? The boys will want to see Castles and Viking Ships , best way to do all this with 2 days . When I found this thread it was heaven !!!! Danish Viking you are an awesome, generous kind resource who it seems is highly appreciated by all of us. We dont come to Denmark til June of 2015 but we all have * Danish Fever * already....thanks for any advice and help to get me started

  16. Does anyone have experience with this Package ? We are going on a Disney cruise with a group of 7 including 3 children and it sounds so good with all the plans made at one time.....airport pick up to hotel, transfer to cruise terminal next day, breakfast and a pick up at the Cruise terminal to take you back to the airport. They say they even have carseats for the children. This hotel is only a ten minute ride from Port Canaveral. I just thought I would check for any good or not so good comments from people who know before I make a decision. Thanks so much in advance
